My dad was a resident for 2 1/2 years and he was very happy here but sadly he passed away in April 2025. When we had he's funeral we had a collection for the residents and staff to have a remembrance for him. So today (23rd July) they had an elvis and a football club tribute for him, he loved dancing
and loved this football club. Me and my sister went and it was a lovely remembrance for him, he would've loved it. All the staff are very lovely and friendly and we will definitely be keeping in touch with them

It's obviously a heart breaking decision to place a member of your family in a care home, but we are extremely pleased with Windle Court.


Care workers have a incredible responsibility in looking after our loved ones when we are struggling to cope, but at Windle they have the ability to always care

and smile.It must be one of the hardest jobs out there, but everyone without exception makes us feel welcome and very quickly know everyone on first name terms.


The level of care is exceptional, and of course we all want carers to spend more time with our loved ones but no doubt funds do not allow that plus it would take an army of staff


Although our dad does not always join in all the activities there is plenty on offer, including days out to the beach, garden centres and many more that our dad loves.


If you are now at that difficult time into looking into care homes, we would say the team at Windle are 100% committed to offering a first class caring service.

The staff at the home are very friendly and caring , nothing is too much trouble, you can approach any member of staff and you will get help .
My dad is happy in his room which is of a good size.
The food is very good and plenty of it.
My dad goes on the trips out as much as possible and always enjoys

I am honestly so happy we have chosen to house nan in Windle court. She is a very independent person and the thought of living in a residential care home is not something she was happy about. The home has made the whole transition so easy with Nan always laughing and joking. Staff cannot do enough and
are always so approachable. I would not want another home for my nan, this is the start of a new chapter for Nan and one I think will be amazing. Being able to keep ip to date on the Facebook page has been fantastic too seeing all the wonderful activities that happen every single day again reassures me the right decision was made. Although it took time for mum to settle in, she did share with me that the residents, staff and home we "really nice". She specifically mentioned the banter and time given to her from the domestics and tea lady. Although this was only a 2 week respite for mum, and would not be right for her to live
there permanently at this point in time, we would consider for the future.

My mother-in-law is well looked after and the staff are kind and considerate. They keep us informed as a family. We particularly like regular updates which include photos of what Mum is getting up to. The home is a warm and welcoming place. The staff always appear kind when dealing with all residents

My mum is well looked after in Windle Court. The staff are kind and caring and treat my mum and other residents with respect and compassion. The staff keep us updated as a family very regularly which we really appreciate. Especially the photos that they send. We see how Mum's doing and what activities
etc. she's been up to. This is particularly reassuring to me as I am often out of the country. We feel the staff know Mum well and responds promptly to her needs.

Such kind wonderfully warm staff. They came to our aid in a most unfortunate predicament, that I will always be very grateful for.
Besides all of that, they took exceptionally brilliant care of my mother-in-law who unfortunately has Dementia.

Cannot fault Windle Court care home and we looked at a few. Staff go above and beyond with their care, all the workers have smiles on their faces from the cleaners to the management. The home is kept spotless, activities for the residents are always a source of fun excellent and food provided is varied.
Each staff member is very approachable and any queries are dealt with promptly. Unfortunately, we lost our family member, but she was so happy there and it has helped us to know that she was surrounded by so much love and care. Thank you everybody at Windle Court.

My father was with you for approximately one month for some rehabilitation care. We have since moved him to another care home, but that is of no reflection of the excellent care he received whilst with you at Windle Court. The decision was purely logistics. We needed to put my father into care after
getting him out of Hospital and it was no easy exercise to do, but your staff were most helpful, especially one lady in particular (you know who you are!). What we needed at the time for Dad was a caring, safe environment that would give him the dignity he required, and that he got from Windle Court.
Myself and the entire family can not thank you enough, for being so accommodating and flexible.

My mum was cared for and loved by staff at Windle Court. They are all wonderful, caring people who do a very difficult job looking after our loved ones when they face a sometimes very confusing and anxious time in their lives. Most of us can't do that job. The staff here are friendly, kind and fun.
When visiting they make you welcome - you become part of this big family. They do lots of activities and encourage residents to take part. I have seen for myself how happy the residents are to join in, watch and sing along. The rooms are clean and tidy. Meals are good plus additional refreshments throughout the day. The residents are kept clean and treated with respect and dignity. The photos tell the story of how good this home is and how happy the residents look in them...I can't thank Windle Court staff enough for looking after my lovely mum. Sadly she has now passed away but was cared for with tenderness right to the end. They are a brilliant team, so supportive in every way.

Amazing care home. The residents are treated with dignity and love. My nan has had a new lease of life since moving into the home. They are taken on days out and not left in the home 24/7. They are kept entertained and pampered.

My father has been in the care home since October 2022. The care home made the transition very easy. My father is very happy here. The staff are excellent, and I can't thank them enough. They are very caring, very informative and helpful, and they work very hard. He has been on several outings, and
they take pictures and put them on Facebook, which is brilliant as family members can see what my father has been up to, and they all comment on how much this care home does with the residents. The care home is very clean, and my father's room is always neat and tidy. I have had a few issues, nothing bad, but they have acted on it and rectified the problem.
My father loves to dance, and they have entertainment with a singer, and they always get him involved.
I would definitely recommend this care home as this was recommended to me, and I'm so happy that he has settled in really well.

Hello, my name is Lorraine, and I am the home manager at Windle Court Residential Home based in South Woodham Ferrers.


I have been the home manager since December 2020 at Windle Court and worked for Runwood Homes since 2009.


Windle Court is a 76-bed purpose-built residential home providing 26 rooms on our poppy suite on the ground floor and 36 rooms on our sunflower suite on the first floor. We also have Jasmine which is a purpose-built senior living private suite suitable for independent or for those who require minimal care.


All rooms have ensuite facilities, all suites have their lounges, dining areas and communal facilities. We provide a hairdressing, chiropody and newspaper service and a full activities calendar which includes, weekly cooking, arts & crafts, live entertainment, and minibus trips, just to mention a few. We have a lovely café which is very popular with residents and visitors we also have outdoor space to accommodate summer BBQs, gardening club and fetes when the weather permits.


Windle Court has a cinema room, which is very popular with the residents; this allows them to relax with a glass of wine and a good movie.

I am also the home's training champion my role is to help drive staff to ensure all Runwood mandatory training is up to date. I also encourage staff to voluntary participate in additional training to help them progress in their role.
