When Nan arrived, the staff were so lovely, it was a difficult transition made a lot easier by the whole team! She has a much better quality of life and I can see her getting her personality back with each visit. The staff are so genuinely caring towards everyone. I couldn't think of a nicer place for my nan to live now that she's in this phase of her life.

A friendly, clean and efficient home. Mum wasn't sure to start with but now feels safe and secure. Any needs are addressed promptly.

Good afternoon,

Many thanks for the positive review, this is very much appreciated. It is very normal for a new resident to feel unsure and anxious to start with, however, as part of our care we reassure and support residents through the transition. We are very happy that your mum now feels safe and secure and all of her needs are addressed promptly.

When my mum first arrived there were many problems with several things e.g. hearing aid batteries not changed so Mum had no hearing and they never noticed. We have since had discussions and things have improved a lot. My mum's dementia needs lots of watching and answering for her needs. Her stimulation from activities is important. At first, that need was not seen to but now has also improved and she is, and we are, so much happier.

My mother has been a resident since 2015 and the care is second to none. I would recommend Windle Court to anyone needing a safe and caring place for their dependent to reside. All the staff look after Mum as if she is their own relative. They keep me informed of any changes to her needs and she is very happy here.

Staff are always friendly and ready to help. Occasionally they are very busy working with other residents but if I need to speak to someone urgently they will make themselves available as soon as possible. Any concerns I have, have always been responded to by management and dealt with efficiently. Mum is always well presented and well cared for. She is happy here and enjoys sitting in the lounge with other residents. Sadly with many activities, she doesn't want to join in unless it's singing!

Hello, thanks so much for the wonderful review. We take pride in the responsiveness we provide to relatives in our residents' lives, and we are so grateful to hear how pleased you are with your mother's care. We always enjoy hearing her sing, too. Have a good day.

I am very pleased with the professional standards consistently maintained. The staff are all committed, caring and capable. My only concern is the problem faced by the laundry trying to return clothing to the correct resident when many residents do not properly label their belongings, as a result even properly labelled items are delivered to the wrong rooms.

My mum has recently become a resident at Windle Court, she went through a lot of pain, hospital treatments and visits plus leaving her own home after many years. The care staff at Windle Court have been nothing but kind to her and have tried to accommodate all her requirements and needs. It makes me happy that she is enjoying her time there and now she has folks to chat with, activities and is much brighter in herself. Strangely, since she went into Windle Court she has had no trouble with Irritable Bowel Syndrome that she had had for years and I'm sure it's because her stress and worries have been taken away, thank you Windle Court.

Overall I have been really pleased with the care given to my husband, and but for the safeguarding issues with his aggression over the last couple of months. I wouldn't remove him by choice, he is currently in hospital awaiting a move to a place more suitable for his needs now.

The staff have been exceptional in the months he has been at Windle Court, and are all sorry he can't stay, as am I.

A lovely, friendly home from home at Windle Court. My aunt came for a short stay and loved it so much she became a resident. Windle Court is very welcoming and takes great care of my aunt. There's lots of activities, fantastic care and lovely friendly caring staff. Our family s very happy to know that aunt is settled here and happy. She especially loves her afternoon tea and cake.

Windle Court is an extremely caring environment. Spotlessly clean, light and airy with tasteful decor. The staff I met were very friendly and professional. My aunt has dementia and says she likes it very much and thinks the staff are ‘lovely’. The atmosphere is very peaceful.

Review from Howard L (Son of Resident) published on 15 April 2021 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mother was a resident at Windle Court for nine years. Before taking up residence, I had visited a number of care homes locally and following my own assessment and taking into account other recommendations, Mum agreed to become a resident at Windle Court. As it turned out, it was a very good choice. During her stay, my mother received nothing but care, kindness and consideration from all the staff she came into contact with. In fact, I would like to put on record my thanks to all the staff for their dedication, consideration, kindness and the professionalism afforded to my mother during the time she spent at Windle Court. Theirs is not an easy job, understated and under-appreciated by many and yet for very little reward. They are dedicated people, caring for those who can no longer look after themselves. They are all very special people.

It was great to see my father properly for the first time in months! The staff were friendly and very attentive to him. He has been well cared for and was looking bright and fresh, which was such a relief after so much time apart. Dad has a lovely new room, and it is evident that the home, as a whole, has been redecorated to a good standard. As restrictions ease, I will be back soon and feel confident that the staff are both professional and compassionate.

Before I came to Windle I was very nervous all the time. I have muscle myositis and it is in my legs and arms, so I was always falling and dropping things. It got so bad I started to get palpitations 2-3 times a day worrying about falling, so I knew it was time for me to get 24-hour care in a care home. The day I put my foot through the door at Windle I felt at ease I was taken to my room. I liked it instantly. The care started straight away as they welcomed me in. I have been at Windle for 4 weeks, the care is there all the time, I feel at ease and I have only had 2 attacks of palpitations. The staff are excellent, always happy, the facilities are excellent. The food is very good. The cleanliness is excellent. I have nothing I do not like. I am at peace here at Windle.

From the first time I arrived at Windle Court, I was greeted as a friend. My mum was placed here after a brief stay in hospital and ten months on she is so settled and happy - it's the best thing that could have happened to her. From being lonely in her flat, she now has company and is so well looked after. The staff are caring and amazing. They have been able to give her love over the lockdown months when I haven't been able too.

My aunt was in Windle Court from January 2019 until January 2021. It was a massive step for her to move from her home of more than sixty years, however from day one, she told me she felt safe and comfortable. Throughout her stay, she always said how well she was looked after. The staff there are really caring, understanding and professional, not just towards my aunt, but also towards our family, whenever we visited. I always found them very friendly and approachable. They always said it was my aunt's home so we could come and go to visit her as we please with no restrictions. The last year has obviously been very difficult but it was reassuring to know she was in the best hands and had everything she needed. In her time there, she enjoyed the trips out to the seaside, something she hadn't done for years and she really enjoyed the days when the therapy dogs and other small animals were brought in for the residents to hold and stroke.

My aunt was at Windle Court from November 2019 to May 2020.
The care she received there was excellent and she enjoyed her time, saying how kind and caring the staff were. Nothing regarding her care was too much trouble. The first week she arrived four of the family plus a family dog joined here for lunch. The hospitality we received was excellent. This set the trend for all our visits we were always made welcome no matter what time of the day we visited.
On our visits, we witnessed the care she received which was not only caring and professional but truly loving.
The home and her room was always beautifully clean. She had all her photos and special ornaments from home around her including a bird feeder outside her window.

My mother, her sister, and I would like to say a huge thank you to all of the staff that looked after my aunt. I can also speak from a professional point of view, as I was an NHS Community Nurse, I would recommend this care home, the staff and standards are exceptional.
