I am very pleased with the professional standards consistently maintained. The staff are all committed, caring and capable. My only concern is the problem faced by the laundry trying to return clothing to the correct resident when many residents do not properly label their belongings, as a result even
properly labelled items are delivered to the wrong rooms.

My mum has recently become a resident at Windle Court, she went through a lot of pain, hospital treatments and visits plus leaving her own home after many years. The care staff at Windle Court have been nothing but kind to her and have tried to accommodate all her requirements and needs. It makes me
happy that she is enjoying her time there and now she has folks to chat with, activities and is much brighter in herself. Strangely, since she went into Windle Court she has had no trouble with Irritable Bowel Syndrome that she had had for years and I'm sure it's because her stress and worries have been taken away, thank you Windle Court.

Overall I have been really pleased with the care given to my husband, and but for the safeguarding issues with his aggression over the last couple of months. I wouldn't remove him by choice, he is currently in hospital awaiting a move to a place more suitable for his needs now.
The staff have been
exceptional in the months he has been at Windle Court, and are all sorry he can't stay, as am I.

A lovely, friendly home from home at Windle Court. My aunt came for a short stay and loved it so much she became a resident. Windle Court is very welcoming and takes great care of my aunt. There's lots of activities, fantastic care and lovely friendly caring staff. Our family s very happy to know that
aunt is settled here and happy. She especially loves her afternoon tea and cake.

Windle Court is an extremely caring environment. Spotlessly clean, light and airy with tasteful decor. The staff I met were very friendly and professional. My aunt has dementia and says she likes it very much and thinks the staff are ‘lovely’. The atmosphere is very peaceful.

My mother was a resident at Windle Court for nine years. Before taking up residence, I had visited a number of care homes locally and following my own assessment and taking into account other recommendations, Mum agreed to become a resident at Windle Court. As it turned out, it was a very good choice.
During her stay, my mother received nothing but care, kindness and consideration from all the staff she came into contact with. In fact, I would like to put on record my thanks to all the staff for their dedication, consideration, kindness and the professionalism afforded to my mother during the time she spent at Windle Court. Theirs is not an easy job, understated and under-appreciated by many and yet for very little reward. They are dedicated people, caring for those who can no longer look after themselves. They are all very special people.

It was great to see my father properly for the first time in months! The staff were friendly and very attentive to him. He has been well cared for and was looking bright and fresh, which was such a relief after so much time apart. Dad has a lovely new room, and it is evident that the home, as a whole,
has been redecorated to a good standard. As restrictions ease, I will be back soon and feel confident that the staff are both professional and compassionate.

Before I came to Windle I was very nervous all the time. I have muscle myositis and it is in my legs and arms, so I was always falling and dropping things. It got so bad I started to get palpitations 2-3 times a day worrying about falling, so I knew it was time for me to get 24-hour care in a care home.
The day I put my foot through the door at Windle I felt at ease I was taken to my room. I liked it instantly. The care started straight away as they welcomed me in. I have been at Windle for 4 weeks, the care is there all the time, I feel at ease and I have only had 2 attacks of palpitations. The staff are excellent, always happy, the facilities are excellent. The food is very good. The cleanliness is excellent. I have nothing I do not like. I am at peace here at Windle.

From the first time I arrived at Windle Court, I was greeted as a friend. My mum was placed here after a brief stay in hospital and ten months on she is so settled and happy - it's the best thing that could have happened to her. From being lonely in her flat, she now has company and is so well looked
after. The staff are caring and amazing. They have been able to give her love over the lockdown months when I haven't been able too.

My aunt was in Windle Court from January 2019 until January 2021. It was a massive step for her to move from her home of more than sixty years, however from day one, she told me she felt safe and comfortable. Throughout her stay, she always said how well she was looked after. The staff there are really
caring, understanding and professional, not just towards my aunt, but also towards our family, whenever we visited. I always found them very friendly and approachable. They always said it was my aunt's home so we could come and go to visit her as we please with no restrictions. The last year has obviously been very difficult but it was reassuring to know she was in the best hands and had everything she needed. In her time there, she enjoyed the trips out to the seaside, something she hadn't done for years and she really enjoyed the days when the therapy dogs and other small animals were brought in for the residents to hold and stroke.

My aunt was at Windle Court from November 2019 to May 2020.
The care she received there was excellent and she enjoyed her time, saying how kind and caring the staff were. Nothing regarding her care was too much trouble. The first week she arrived four of the family plus a family dog joined here for
lunch. The hospitality we received was excellent. This set the trend for all our visits we were always made welcome no matter what time of the day we visited.
On our visits, we witnessed the care she received which was not only caring and professional but truly loving.
The home and her room was always beautifully clean. She had all her photos and special ornaments from home around her including a bird feeder outside her window.
My mother, her sister, and I would like to say a huge thank you to all of the staff that looked after my aunt. I can also speak from a professional point of view, as I was an NHS Community Nurse, I would recommend this care home, the staff and standards are exceptional.

It is difficult to put into words the amazing, respectful, empathetic care that my father in law has received at Windle Court. From the moment we knew he had to be supported in a care home we were treated with respect and support, there was no pressure just advice and help from the Admin lady to the
Manager, who came out to see my father in law, and then the care giveN in the Home from the carers. They treated not only my father in law with respect, dignity, gentleness, kindness and always made time to speak to him, but also the family visiting, especially in the last few weeks of his life, they were always ready with a kind word and went out of their way to make his last few weeks comfortable, dignified and peaceful. They are nothing short of amazing and we, as a family, are eternally grateful.

My mother has been a resident in this home for the past eight years. She has received excellent care throughout her stay. The staff are marvellous with their love, care, support and giving the dignity my mum so deserves.
The meals are very good and presented well and always cater to the patient's needs.
Activity staff keep everyone amused and has a variety of activities now my mum is at end of life and I have been overwhelmed with the kindness and love they have shown my mum. I cannot recommend this home enough.

I have been to visit a very good friend today and I was very impressed with all aspects of this care home. On arrival, I was greeted by very polite staff, beautiful and clean, very caring staff who have made my friend very welcome and left him feeling comfortable. I was invited to have lunch with him.
The meal was wonderful, we ate every scrap on our plates and left the table with full stomachs. I would recommend this care home to everyone.

Hello, my name is Lorraine, and I am the home manager at Windle Court Residential Home based in South Woodham Ferrers.


I have been the home manager since December 2020 at Windle Court and worked for Runwood Homes since 2009.


Windle Court is a 76-bed purpose-built residential home providing 26 rooms on our poppy suite on the ground floor and 36 rooms on our sunflower suite on the first floor. We also have Jasmine which is a purpose-built senior living private suite suitable for independent or for those who require minimal care.


All rooms have ensuite facilities, all suites have their lounges, dining areas and communal facilities. We provide a hairdressing, chiropody and newspaper service and a full activities calendar which includes, weekly cooking, arts & crafts, live entertainment, and minibus trips, just to mention a few. We have a lovely café which is very popular with residents and visitors we also have outdoor space to accommodate summer BBQs, gardening club and fetes when the weather permits.


Windle Court has a cinema room, which is very popular with the residents; this allows them to relax with a glass of wine and a good movie.

I am the Deputy Manager at Windle Court. I have worked here for the past 10 years, i first started in the home as a carer and have progressed to become the Deputy manager in the last year which was always my ambition.


I am kind, and caring and provide support to the staff, residents, families and visitors. I am a champion in the home for manual handling, end-of-life, medication and health and safety.


I have achieved my NVQ level 3 in health and social care and currently working towards achieving my level 4.

Hi, I'm Kerry I am the financial administrator for Windle Court. I have been here for over 4 years and I look after all aspects of administrative responsibilities along with looking after all the staff.


I am responsible for all onboarding of new staff to ensure all documentation is legislative and CQC compliant. I am also the home's training champion my role is to help drive staff to ensure all Runwood mandatory training is up to date. I also encourage staff to voluntary participate in additional training to help them progress in their role.
