View Full Details of Windle CourtMy mum appears to feel comfortable, safe and in my view is being well looked after. The staff are always friendly and helpful towards my mum and myself. However in my opinion there isn't always enough staff in and around the lounge area engaging with the residents.
Just a short note to express our gratitude to all the staff that were involved in taking our Mum for a walk/ramble. Having seen the video posted on social media, it gives the family so much pleasure in seeing our mum enjoying herself and joining in with others. She can be reticent in getting involved is such activities but due to the efforts of the excellent staff at Windle Court she is getting more involved in such activities.
Our Dad was in Windle Court for 2 and a half years. Transition was easy. The Staff cared for our Dad very well and made his life there very happy. The Staff are very caring and are so lovely. The Staff did so much for our Dad. He loved music, and they used to dance with him. Communication was very good to. Any problems, they would call to keep me informed. Our father passed away in the home, and I can't thank the staff enough for what they did for him and us. I would definitely recommend this home to others. They made our dad very happy.
My husband is very well looked after at Windle Court. He is kept clean and presentable. The staff are very encouraging and patient with him which is difficult as he has advanced dementia. Windle Court provide a wide variety of activities to keep him occupied and entertain him. My husband is cared about by the staff and I don't think one could ask for anything more. I highly recommend Windle Court.
After a 7-month wait, my wife was admitted into Windle Court. She has been there 5 weeks and is settling in nicely. Her room is nicely decorated and is spotlessly clean. She is enjoying her meals as well. She is currently undergoing several hospital appointments, and the staff are organising transport. I have found all the staff go about their work with a big smile. I cannot fault them at all they are a credit to Windle. It makes me very happy knowing my wife is in safe hands.
My wife has been at Windle Court for the past six months, first for respite then into permanent care. She has been treated with care and dignity at all items and has settled in well with the support, care and dedication of all the staff across the board. Any concerns I have had are addressed quickly. Always positively.
Before volunteering here, I visited my Mother, who was a resident for over 5 years. In all that time I was (and am) very impressed by all the staff, from Manager to Carers and Housekeeping Staff. All the residents are treated with dignity and known individually. There is a very active program of Wellbeing and Social Activities offered throughout the day for those able to engage in them. Those residents who are in later stages of dementia and life (as my Mother was) are offered one-to-one support and comfort. It can be very distressing to bring a family member into care, especially when their personality seems so out of reach. I found the staff compassionate and understanding of my emotional turmoil and supportive. Towards the end Mum was not interested in eating but staff went out of their way to find something that she fancied. Her room was always clean and smelled fresh.
Mum was in Windle Court SWF for 7 months and in that time had a number of falls. She was not stimulated and the lack of this and not going outside had a profound effect on her body clock . Items would go missing - her handbag, purse, hearing aids, glasses. Which were never found which meant she could not see properly and could not hear so she retreated into herself. She was often not included in outings and the regular walks that took place. I complained about these and other concerns with no response. She had falls which needed hospital admissions and being unsteady on her feet was part of her vascular dementia. She was often dirty with food down her and one day was covered all down her in tea. It was left to just dry on her. she was normally sat in.the lounge with her back to the tv with little or no stimulation. She had a fall out of bed and I found she was bleeding laying on the floor all alone..social.care are investigating. We feel guilty for sending Mum there. Don't do it!
My dad was a resident for 2 1/2 years and he was very happy here but sadly he passed away in April 2025. When we had he's funeral we had a collection for the residents and staff to have a remembrance for him. So today (23rd July) they had an elvis and a football club tribute for him, he loved dancing and loved this football club. Me and my sister went and it was a lovely remembrance for him, he would've loved it. All the staff are very lovely and friendly and we will definitely be keeping in touch with them
It's obviously a heart breaking decision to place a member of your family in a care home, but we are extremely pleased with Windle Court. Care workers have a incredible responsibility in looking after our loved ones when we are struggling to cope, but at Windle they have the ability to always care and smile. It must be one of the hardest jobs out there, but everyone without exception makes us feel welcome and very quickly know everyone on first name terms. The level of care is exceptional, and of course we all want carers to spend more time with our loved ones but no doubt funds do not allow that plus it would take an army of staff Although our dad does not always join in all the activities there is plenty on offer, including days out to the beach, garden centres and many more that our dad loves. If you are now at that difficult time into looking into care homes, we would say the team at Windle are 100% committed to offering a first class caring service.
The staff at the home are very friendly and caring , nothing is too much trouble, you can approach any member of staff and you will get help . My dad is happy in his room which is of a good size. The food is very good and plenty of it. My dad goes on the trips out as much as possible and always enjoys them. I am updated re his care and if there's any issues.
Although it took time for mum to settle in, she did share with me that the residents, staff and home we "really nice". She specifically mentioned the banter and time given to her from the domestics and tea lady. Although this was only a 2 week respite for mum, and would not be right for her to live there permanently at this point in time, we would consider for the future.
My mother has been in Windle Court since April 2021 and has found that her stay has been lovely, the Staff are always very friendly and helpful and always keep me informed of her welfare. I have no concerns up to now. Would definitely recommend Windle Court.
My mother-in-law is well looked after and the staff are kind and considerate. They keep us informed as a family. We particularly like regular updates which include photos of what Mum is getting up to. The home is a warm and welcoming place. The staff always appear kind when dealing with all residents and seem to have good relationships/rapport with them. We are happy with the care and treatment.
My mum is well looked after in Windle Court. The staff are kind and caring and treat my mum and other residents with respect and compassion. The staff keep us updated as a family very regularly which we really appreciate. Especially the photos that they send. We see how Mum's doing and what activities etc. she's been up to. My nan is very well cared for. The carers always ensure we have sufficient space in a quiet area when I visit with my children. Thank you, Windle Court!
Amazing care given to my nan. Very friendly staff who go above and beyond to tend to all needs and make space for us to spend quality time alone with Nan with all the great-grand children. Thank you Windle Court!
The staff and management have maintained the high standards they showed when any mother first came to stay in the home. She has thrived in an environment where she can enjoy the company of others and is treated with love and respect by the care staff. Many thanks to all of them for their continued hard work in times that are often very challenging.

I cannot thank you enough for everything you did for Dad. He was a difficult person but you showed compassion and empathy every step of the way. You always had time to listen to him and to me and I am incredibly grateful.
