Windle Court is located in a quiet residential area of South Woodham Ferrers. Once inside this purpose built home the conservatory offers the views of the raised flower beds, whilst most of the rooms look out onto lawned areas. There is also a smaller unit, Jasmine Lodge, set in the grounds.

Rooms are all en-suite with wall-mounted TV's as standard, but it is your choice how your room is set and which of those precious items you wish to bring. It is only then the transformation is complete and this home is then your home.

It is difficult to put into words the amazing, respectful, empathetic care that my father in law has received at Windle Court. From the moment we knew he had to be supported in a care home we were treated with respect and support, there was no pressure just advice and help from the Admin lady to the
Manager, who came out to see my father in law, and then the care giveN in the Home from the carers. They treated not only my father in law with respect, dignity, gentleness, kindness and always made time to speak to him, but also the family visiting, especially in the last few weeks of his life, they were always ready with a kind word and went out of their way to make his last few weeks comfortable, dignified and peaceful. They are nothing short of amazing and we, as a family, are eternally grateful.

My recent visits to Windle Court have been very pleasing. The carers are positive and kind to the residents. The environment is clean, bright and friendly. I am always welcomed by staff by name and made to feel part of the Windle Court family. I am extremely happy with the attention my mother receives.

My mother has been a resident in this home for the past eight years. She has received excellent care throughout her stay. The staff are marvellous with their love, care, support and giving the dignity my mum so deserves.
The meals are very good and presented well and always cater to the patient's needs.
Activity staff keep everyone amused and has a variety of activities now my mum is at end of life and I have been overwhelmed with the kindness and love they have shown my mum. I cannot recommend this home enough.

I have been to visit a very good friend today and I was very impressed with all aspects of this care home. On arrival, I was greeted by very polite staff, beautiful and clean, very caring staff who have made my friend very welcome and left him feeling comfortable. I was invited to have lunch with him.
The meal was wonderful, we ate every scrap on our plates and left the table with full stomachs. I would recommend this care home to everyone.

Staff are very patient to the resident's needs. Everyone seems focused on treating residents as individuals, within the constraints of a structured care home. Nothing seems too much trouble if it's possible.

My parents have been at Windle Court for over five months and are accommodated in two rooms; one is their lounge, the other their twin bedroom.
Their care has been to a high standard. Medical concerns are dealt with promptly and appropriately. The management team is strong and focused on operational
improvement. Carers are attentive and friendly.
My parents settled in very quickly and are appreciative of the care they receive.
Complaints have been minor and have received prompt attention.

Windle Court is a welcoming and well-appointed care home providing a safe haven for residents. There is a weekly programme of events available and the food is of a high standard. All staff with whom I have been in contact are approachable, friendly and happy to help in any way they can. They are
very caring to my mother and she has been very happy with the level of care provided as am I.

My wife has been a resident since December 2017. She suffers from mixed dementia and requires constant help and care. The standard of care has always been very good and she eats well. She can be uncooperative at times especially regarding personal care, but she has always been treated with encouragement
and respect.

Since my wife came into Windle Court she has become happy and an absolute joy to visit as this has not always been the case in the past. The carers who look after my wife really care about her well-being and dignity. Long may she remain here.

Her room is outstanding. The food is of very good quality.

The home is run like a welcoming family unit and always make me very welcome.

I visit Windle Court 3 times a week and have been for some time to visit a very good friend with her husband. I work in the care industry so I can be very critical in my opinion. I must say about Windle Court the home and staff are outstanding. Staff go above and beyond the tasks, they are given or
expected to do. Very caring. patient, friendly, helpful they treat the residents with dignity and respect.

I cannot, in all honesty, fault this home in any way. My Mother has thrived in your care, (better than the 8 years living with me).
You all do a wonderful job and the care is outstanding.
I love the paper information for the likes of me who have no email or internet.
Love the flower displays in
reception and smell.

Our overall experiences since my mother going into Windle Court in December 2015 was good and staff very attentive over the last few months as her health deteriorated. In that time management has changed twice which has been very unsettling for staff but feel from a relative's point of view the management
are moving in the right direction. The night staff on my mother's last night were excellent as had been those on shift all day and all were also very supportive to the family, but the support of the day staff had been particularly caring for many weeks leading up to her death.
Recently I had grave concerns about staffing levels at the weekend which I raised 3 weeks ago. I was told this would be looked into.

As a family we have been very happy with the care mum received while at Windle Court. The staff have always been friendly, helpful and considerate, to us as well as to mum. I was kept well informed about any needs or concerns there were for mum and asked for my permission if there was any change needed
for mum's care.
The home is clean, comfortable and well maintained.
I only ever saw the carers treat all the residents with respect and dignity. There is a friendly, happy atmosphere in the area of the home where mum was placed.
When mum was dying the care she, and our family, received couldn't have been better.

My mother has been living in Windle Court for 6 months. She was very agitated when she arrived but with help and kindness from the excellent staff, she has accepted that this is her home. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and I cannot praise too highly how gentle and patient they are. Even
the domestic staff know the residents by name and stop and chat to them. Family are welcome to visit at any time and are also invited to many of the activities taking place. Two full-time events staff ensure that there are activities morning and afternoon including visits from children, animals and days out. My mother went to her first music festival this year! One organised especially for dementia sufferers. The food is excellent and plentiful, there are no agency staff and the new manager is very present. She listens to any problems, takes the comments on board and makes the required changes.

My father was only a resident at Windle Court for a short period of time and we were new to this situation and concerned about how he would settle in the home. We need not have worried at all, as from the first time we visited the home, we were made very welcome and all the staff were extremely happy
and helpful which put our minds at rest immediately. Sadly he was only a resident for 5 days before passing away. Again the staff were so supportive to us a family and they treated dad with the utmost dignity, respect and professionalism. While a resident at Windle Court, my father was the most content he had been for some months. We would have no hesitation in recommending Windle Court to anyone in the same situation.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.693) out of 10 for Windle Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 25 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.693 for Windle Court is calculated as follows: ( (236 Excellents x 5) + (43 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (8 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 293 Ratings = 4.693
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Windle Court is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 76 registered maximum number of service users is 15.2, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
