My mother Marjorie is being well looked after by all staff. If there are any issues we are notified promptly by phone. Although Marjorie is unaware of where she is, it is comforting to know she is happy, healthy (never even had a cold!!) and safe.

Generally the home (Rose House) is very good.
Points to improve:
Access at weekends is poor, takes ages to gain entry when visiting.
When meals are being served, more attention is required to help clients so food is not spilt on floor or down clothes.
Reply from Jo Unwin, Registered Home Manager at Rose HouseThank you very much for your valued feedback here at Rose House we are continually looking for ways to improve the service we provide and your comments will be taken on board

I find the facilities to be very good. My sister always seems to be in a good & happy mood when I visit her. She is well looked after for her age and has never really complained about anything. The only thing I can do: Thank you.

Our relative is well cared for. The staff are kind and very pleasant. Our only concern is that some of her clothes go missing but we can't fault the care. The new manager is already making a difference and putting clients first.

My husband spent 2 weeks respite care at Ivy Court. He has vascular dementia and needs help with washing dressing and needs help and guidance with toileting. This did not happen. He was simply left to it. Unbelievable!! He was dirty unkempt and unhappy. In the 2 weeks his socks were changed
once. I kept telling staff he cannot wash or dress himself but because they didn't bother he just did best he could
They said they asked him if he was okay and because he said yes they just left him!!
He has dementia. It was obvious he needed help
I would say the staff there are simply not bothered. I paid nearly £3000 for that
Never again It's all "Smoke and Mirrors "

Absolutely terrible place never made feel welcomed at all, best thing I ever did was get my grandparents out of the jail. I feel ever so sorry for all the people who can't talk out people everybody be able to have a wash every day and 3 healthy meals a days they spend so much money to be in your care
home to get 4 pound allowance each person and fed burnt to a crisp pizza to my grandfather who is on a level 6 diet management in Oldfield house is atrocious and is very unfair on the residents who can't speak out who all deserve the best. Unfortunately people should never have complaints if it's a good care home but all it ever was things popping up day by day then to be greeted by the very very unprofessional new manager who can't have a simple conversation with anyone without getting highly agitated day my nan and grandad will not be returning here as the care home has said and we are all very happy for that response I wouldn't like them to ever be paying to be jailed like the poor rest
Reply from Vickie Walker, Manager at Oldfield HouseWe are sorry to hear that you feel your experience at Oldfield House has been a negative one. We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback, as we value all comments and continually use them to review and improve our services.

The safety, wellbeing, and protection of all residents at Oldfield House remain our highest priority. As part of our duty of care, we are required to follow specific procedures and protocols at all times to ensure residents are supported in a safe and secure environment.

Liberty House

from Enrique S (Partner of Resident) published on 20 May 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5
Over the past months I have raised repeated concerns regarding the care and wellbeing of my partner at Liberty House Care Home.
My concerns have included delays in assistance, poor communication, hygiene issues, lack of proper nutrition, emotional distress, and a noticeable decline in wellbeing. Despite
safeguarding involvement and formal meetings, I still feel there has been a lack of clear action and accountability.
What has been most upsetting is seeing how anxious my partner has become. She is now often reluctant to ask staff for help, which for a vulnerable resident is deeply concerning.
Recent events have only increased my concerns regarding her safety and wellbeing.
I sincerely hope improvements are made, because vulnerable residents deserve safe, dignified and compassionate care at all times.
Reply from Tracey Reynolds, Senior Manager at Liberty HouseDear Enrique,
Thank you for your feedback. We are continuing to work closely with your loved one, yourself, and our professional partners to ensure that we provide the highest possible standard of care and meet expectations. We remain fully committed to continuing this approach and to supporting your loved one in the best way we can. We understand how important it is that you feel confident and reassured, and we are keen to address any concerns you may have. I would be very happy to meet with you to discuss these in more detail and work together towards a resolution. Please let me know about a convenient date and time for a meeting by contacting the home directly.

Our mum was a resident for over two years and Liberty House became her much loved home.
She was very happy and tried new activities such as fitness classes and ten pin bowling (aged 93 years).
The care , support and friendship she received from staff was excellent and we will ever be indebted to them
for this.
We would highly recommend Liberty House to anyone who needs care and support in their later years

Oldfield House

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Roza, who does the activities at Oldfield, is absolutely brilliant. She always has lots of ideas on craft/activities and works very hard with and for the residents. She's a very dedicated member of staff and the residents love doing activities with Roza. She also sometimes does care functions. Having
become a regular volunteer at Oldfield, I've realised how much time it can take to do such activities with the residents and its not easy, as they are all at different levels, in terms of abilities, skills, memory, patience etc. I think Roza does an incredible job and her caring, enthusiastic nature us very plain to see. She is an asset to the team at Oldfield.
Reply from Shileen Muusha, Manager at Oldfield HouseThis is fantastic! Roza is a brilliant member of staff. Very kind, creative, dedicated, caring and hardworking. She is indeed valued by all our residents. Her work speaks for itself. Thank you for this amazing review. I will let her know x

Had afternoon tea for mother's day in my nans room. The food was lovely and the room was decorated and looked very pretty. Events coordinator (sorry, don't know her name) was very helpful and accommodating. Even brought some extra cakes for my young daughter (age 6) who came to see her and brought presents.
All in all, staff were very helpful and made the day very special.

My mum recently had a fall in the home and I was informed straight away, an ambulance was called which I met at the hospital. Exceptional care. When mum was back in the home the care being received again is exceptional. All the staff are friendly and amazing. Without the care and friendliness from Ivy
Court and my family would be lost. They are all amazing people and I want to say well done to everyone, you are appreciated so much by myself and the family. Thank you to you all for all that you do.
