My dad has been staying in Rowena House for almost one year. He seems very settled. The staff are very caring and attentive and my dad is happy with the food which has always been important to him.

My dad has been on respite for a few weeks at Rowena House. He settled in really quickly, which hasn't been the case anywhere else. From my first contact with the home to arrange a tour around, I have witnessed compassion and dedication from the staff. It may not be the most modern building, but the
genuine care is better by far than any other respite my dad has encountered. Well done to the management team, the place is run very well, and they are absolute stars to us!

Home from home feel.
Staff very friendly and homely.
Rowena House is not an all singing all dancing care home, but its all very normal with normal lovely staff.
My stepfather will be returning for sure.

My mum got transferred to this carehome in January after being diagnosed with lung cancer (who also had dementia and alzimers). We were led to believe that she couldn't return to her bungalow to be cared for by myself and carers through a care company because she needed 24/7 care ( I later learned
that she could have returned home ) . At first I couldn't fault the home , carers or management my mum was looked after with care and compassion , she was happy and content . In February when I had a disagreement with a member of management things started to go downhill. One day a doctor had been rang to mum and I was not informed of the sudden decline in her condition. I did try to get my mum home (my house ) as she asked me everytime I visited (sometimes 3 times a day) everything was going ahead as she had been assessed by a nurse from ICB until a staff member informed a family member who then went to see mum and begged her to stay, 6 days later my mum passed away with a broken heart.

It is a very hard to put a loved one into a care home after visiting Rowena House our fears were put the rest by management and staff. To see people treated with dignity and compassion and safe environment it seemed like one big family at Rowena House a big thank you to all staff there.

My mum was transferred from hosptial to Rowena House Care Home recently after being diagnosed with cancer. She also has dementia and alzheimers. I was feeling anxious about the change for mum but after her 1st day and night there I just knew this was the perfect forever home for her however long that
may be. My mums said she isn't ever leaving there because she loves it. She loves the food, the staff and is the happiest I've seen her in a long time.

Mum has been here since June 2023, she has been treated with care and compassion since she arrived and we have consistently found the staff very nice and helpful. Our experience with the manager has been excellent. This home truly knows what a person-centred approach is. The premises might not be as
shiny and new as some other homes but Mum has been in one of those before and this is a far better place that treats her like an individual with love which is all we ever wanted for her. She is involved in activities and day trips which is so important.

Mum has been in Rowena house seven and a half years and has always been happy there. Recently being in hospital and on return had to be put on end of life care. Staff been great with her. Attending to her every need, staff and management all friendly and hardworking.

All the staff at Rowena House do there upmost to care for all the residents and work tirelessly. We can call and visit any time, which is very reassuring. Mum is being looked after very well. The manager is so lovely and nothing is too much trouble. We cannot thank them enough for all of their hard

My brother has been at the home approx four weeks and appears to be settling in very well. The staff are friendly, kind and caring and look after him very well. The meals are excellent, with a choice at each sitting. Although his room is small, it is very clean and suits his needs, but a larger room
would be preferable. Activities are varied to suit residents with options for outings. We would recommend this home to other people.

Just a huge thank you to all staff at Rowena House. Mum has dementia and recently had a fall that required surgery and spent a brief period in hospital. It then became quite obvious Mum could no longer be on her own. Rowena House took Mum in at short notice and it has been the best thing that could
have happened. She has settled in really quickly and the staff are very welcoming, kind and considerate with regards to Mum's needs. Rowena House presents itself as clean, friendly and efficient. The manager is amazing and the staff are always approachable. Mum looks happy in her new environment and her family feel reassured with her progress. Again, thank you to all on the team!

Hi, my name is Vickie, I have worked in care for just over 20 years, I first started in care after caring for my Nan, after she had passed away I realised not everyone was in a position to care for their loved ones and I wanted them to feel reassured that I would look after them like I looked after my Nan.


I have three children, twin boys now 29, and a daughter now 19, and four grandsons, who are the lights of my life, I even delivered one of them, (so I could be a midwife too).


My hobbies are reading, days in the countryside relaxing, and spending time with my grandsons and family.


I have been with Runwood for nearly two years, and I love the family feel of Rowena House.
