Home from home feel. Staff very friendly and homely. Rowena House is not an all singing all dancing care home, but its all very normal with normal lovely staff. My stepfather will be returning for sure. Thank you.

My mum got transferred to this carehome in January after being diagnosed with lung cancer (who also had dementia and alzimers). We were led to believe that she couldn't return to her bungalow to be cared for by myself and carers through a care company because she needed 24/7 care ( I later learned that she could have returned home ) . At first I couldn't fault the home , carers or management my mum was looked after with care and compassion , she was happy and content . In February when I had a disagreement with a member of management things started to go downhill. One day a doctor had been rang to mum and I was not informed of the sudden decline in her condition. I did try to get my mum home (my house ) as she asked me everytime I visited (sometimes 3 times a day) everything was going ahead as she had been assessed by a nurse from ICB until a staff member informed a family member who then went to see mum and begged her to stay, 6 days later my mum passed away with a broken heart.

It is a very hard to put a loved one into a care home after visiting Rowena House our fears were put the rest by management and staff. To see people treated with dignity and compassion and safe environment it seemed like one big family at Rowena House a big thank you to all staff there.

My wife is happy and settled care staff are really caring and nice. Manager has always addressed any concerns raised. Really good home.

My dad has been a resident at Rowena House since February and I am extremely happy with the care he receives from the care home manager and her team. Thank you to the manager, I appreciate you taking the time to chat with me about my dad and his care.

Since my mum went into Rowena House she as been happy, clean, tidy + well cared for. All staff are happy, kind + caring. If we have any issues they are sorted out straight away.

Extremely happy with the care and support being given to my father-in-law since Jan 2025. The care home and staff have eased alot of worry and stress from the family. Thank you for everything so far girls.

My mum was cared for at Rowena until she passed away. The care was exceptional, my mum was not left alone, staff and management supported us as a family throughout. I cannot thank them enough.

My mum was transferred from hosptial to Rowena House Care Home recently after being diagnosed with cancer. She also has dementia and alzheimers. I was feeling anxious about the change for mum but after her 1st day and night there I just knew this was the perfect forever home for her however long that may be. My mums said she isn't ever leaving there because she loves it. She loves the food, the staff and is the happiest I've seen her in a long time.

Mum has been here since June 2023, she has been treated with care and compassion since she arrived and we have consistently found the staff very nice and helpful. Our experience with the manager has been excellent. This home truly knows what a person-centred approach is. The premises might not be as shiny and new as some other homes but Mum has been in one of those before and this is a far better place that treats her like an individual with love which is all we ever wanted for her. She is involved in activities and day trips which is so important.

Care, treatment and support has been very effective. Staff are very compassionate and have involved the family in her care. The facility is well led. Some areas need modernising.

Mum has been in Rowena house seven and a half years and has always been happy there. Recently being in hospital and on return had to be put on end of life care. Staff been great with her. Attending to her every need, staff and management all friendly and hardworking.

All the staff at Rowena House do there upmost to care for all the residents and work tirelessly. We can call and visit any time, which is very reassuring. Mum is being looked after very well. The manager is so lovely and nothing is too much trouble. We cannot thank them enough for all of their hard work in looking after Mum. Thank you Rowena House.

My brother has been at the home approx four weeks and appears to be settling in very well. The staff are friendly, kind and caring and look after him very well. The meals are excellent, with a choice at each sitting. Although his room is small, it is very clean and suits his needs, but a larger room would be preferable. Activities are varied to suit residents with options for outings. We would recommend this home to other people.

Just a huge thank you to all staff at Rowena House. Mum has dementia and recently had a fall that required surgery and spent a brief period in hospital. It then became quite obvious Mum could no longer be on her own. Rowena House took Mum in at short notice and it has been the best thing that could have happened. She has settled in really quickly and the staff are very welcoming, kind and considerate with regards to Mum's needs. Rowena House presents itself as clean, friendly and efficient. The manager is amazing and the staff are always approachable. Mum looks happy in her new environment and her family feel reassured with her progress. Again, thank you to all on the team!

I feel I have to write this review to thank everyone at Rowena House. My late father was there for over two years. He passed away in May 2023 and the care the manager and staff gave him was just outstanding. He wasn't good the last few months, but I knew when I wasn't with him that a friendly and compassionate staff member was there giving him laughter, love and respect. I became friends with all the staff and residents, as I visited everyday so I saw everything that was going on. It's the little things they do that make our loved ones feel special and, in my dad's last few days, the respect and love they gave to my dad, and my family, was outstanding. They didn't just care for my dad, they cared for me as well (always checking how I was doing, cups of tea and biscuits etc.). Some of the staff attended my dad's funeral and that was so lovely. I got to introduce them to my dad's sister, who lives away, she wanted to thank them for their outstanding care. So, thank you Rowena, you are all angels.

We have been very pleased with the care given to my sister, especially as she had to be taken in at very short notice. The staff were very welcoming. The home itself is clean, comfortable, bright and homely. She has settled extremely well and at last we know that she is now in a safe environment and with company.

I have the highest admiration for all staff at Rowena House. They work tirelessly to support these very vulnerable people. Everything is done with great care and with great humour and affection. I love my visits to see my dad and can rest easy knowing that he is getting the best care. The manager is amazing - fantastic with everyone. Thank you to everyone in the team!
