This was first Christmas mum spent not in her own home so would have been a difficult time for her. The staff in the home have been outstanding in helping mum settle in, and they laid on a number of activities for the residents and their families to enjoy the festive period. On behalf of our family
I would like to say a massive THANK YOU to all of the sfaff at Mill House.

Dad moved into Mill House in November 2025 having been in hospital and then respite care at a different home.

Dad settled in almost immediately which we were so relieved about as he always said he would never go into a home. He has a lovely big room and was able to take his own tv and other personal

effects and also has his bird table and feeders outside his window, just like at home and with his Alzheimers he does think he is at home a lot of the time.

All the carers we have come into contact with are lovely and really make you and dad feel welcome and you can tell they are committed to their jobs.

We are hopeful that dad will start joining in the regular trips soon as he loves going out for a cuppa! Also looking forward to the spring and getting him out in the lovely grounds. But for now he seems happy and content with how things are.

We feel very lucky the room became available at the right time and now enjoy just going to spend quality time with him.

Dealing with dementia in the family and deciding to place a loved one, especially a parent, into a care setting is never going to be easy, but the support, advice and warmth we've continually experienced from Maria and her team has made it that little bit easier. Mum has been living at Windmill House
for a year now and I do genuinely feel she is part of a community. The residents have mixed needs but staff pull together and work so hard to create a relaxed, fun and homely environment. Yes, occasionally little issues arise as you might imagine in a setting such as this, but the tight knit team do their best to put our minds at rest and ensure mum is well cared for, clean, fed with tasty home cooked food, entertained and most importantly loved! I honestly feel so fortunate to have found Windmill house.
Reply from Maria Paranal, Manager at Windmill HouseThank you for seeing us beyond just a care home. We strongly advocate the value of inclusion and that's why everybody is a part of this wonderful family that we are building. I hope your mom continues to feel cared for and loved by Us.

I like coming here, all the staff are lovely, and I come during my time at college some days. My great granny has settled in well. I've always been very close with her and enjoy her being here because I get to come here. It's always warm, there are lots of activities going on.

Our Granny has been here for just over a year. She's had the best possible care; always clean, treated with dignity and respect and personal preferences taken into account. As we wheeled her along the corridor, all passing staff members greeted her by name! All staff very friendly, very helpful and
happy to assist visitors and make time to give information. Above the physical care they give attention to mental stimulation like music, or social by taking her into the dining room etc. Granny talks very little now; but when asked she could express her happiness with her environment ("lovely"). Thank you very much to all the staff.

Since mum came to Windmill House she has been cared for brilliantly and treated exceptionally well.
Despite her complex needs linked to her Alzheimer's the staff have been amazing.
They care, they treat her with respect and every need is met.
The communication and support for families is brilliant
and it has been the best thing I could ask for for mum.
She is now safe and I can relax in the knowledge she is in the best place possible. A shared thank you to the staff team is nowhere near enough to express my gratitude!

My dad was a resident at St Michael's for a year, he settled quite quickly as there was plenty of room for him to walk about and spacious and clean bedrooms. Unfortunately my dad was placed on end of life care in June, I can honestly say the support and care my dad received was outstanding, he was treated
with such dignity and respect and supported us as a family with so much care. I can't thank them enough for making dad's final days as comfortable as possible. One staff member in particular was amazing, a truly lovely, kind carer with a heart of gold. Thank you from us all.

After spending over three years at the nursing home, mum passed away peacefully. In that last month, along with all her time in there, the staff treated her with kindness, dignity and professional care. They made sure she was comfortable as possible. They allowed us as much time as we wanted to spend
with her, giving us support and information when required.

From my very first contact with Windmill House, as a daughter of soon to be resident, the staff at every level have been kind, reassuring and knowledgeable. The care my mother has received is way beyond expectations and I can relax in the knowledge that her final days are being spent on such caring
surroundings. The admiration I feel towards all staff includes the managerial, administrative, caring, cleaning and chefs.

We were very apprehensive about putting my stepdad into restbite but the staff at St Michaels Court made it such an easy process. Holly came out to visit us and had a good chat making notes of my step fathers likes/dislikes. He spent a week here and though he was in a hotel. When we visited he was content
and happy. All the staff were kind and attentive to his needs. We won't hesitate in sending my step dad back for restbite in the future and he would be happy to return.

My Mum has been at Windmill House for 10 months now and I can honestly say we (myself and Mum) feel so lucky. I doubt I could have found anywhere better for my Mum who has Alzheimer's and mobilty issues.
It's a lovely, bright, well laid out, clean and fresh smelling care home. The rooms all look nice
and lots of residents have personal belongs which makes it very homely.
The facilities are good, there is even a cafe room for visiting relatives and friends to make use of, should they wish to.
And of course what makes Windmill House such a good carehome is the staff. I could not have been made more welcome when I viewed. The manager is a diamond and she has a fantastic team of dedicated staff.
My Mum has not been so occupied and happy in a long time. I know she is safe and extremely well cared for both emotionally and physically. Windmill house has been and still is a God send. I highly recommend this caring care home.
Reply from Maria Paranal, Manager at Windmill HouseThank you for your kind words. I am glad you and your mom are both happy with the care we provide. We will pass these comments to our team who I'm sure will be much appreciated.
