Caring staff, tv/appliances could be better (unreliable @ working), easy to access but secure. Continual noise from generator/other rooms (doesn't bother Ashley)

My dad moved into Windmill House in January 2026 and he was much happier since then because his previous care home failed to provide quality care. We felt so lucky and relieved that dad got a much better place to live in when he needs 24/7 support as his dementia progresses. Since day one he moved into Windmill House, the staff made him a warm welcome and ensure all was in good place. Communications with family was good. All staff were friendly and helpful. What we love about Windmill House is - not only its spacious and airy settings, seasonal decorations, friendly and happy staff, but also there are lots of various types of activities for the residents, and some for their families to join in as well. My dad keeps saying he feels the sense of belongings in Windmill House. The house quite often fills with music and dance which my dad loves and makes him have a big grin :) Dad is well looked after at Windmill House and we are grateful for the staff who make the house feel like home.

Overall Sheila is being looked after in regards to personal hygiene, etc and has gained weight since being at St Michael's - which is excellent.

My husband is unfortunately bed bound but he's receiving great care at the home. The staff are lovely and caring, and it puts my mind at rest.

A great care home, family feel and visitors are welcome. Mum is happy and content. The activities staff in particular go above and beyond to stimulate and provide a happy environment. We visit regularly and very happy with the care our Mum receives.

I have been volunteering twice a week for 18 months - part of which is organising craft sessions. I have always found the staff welcoming and kind to all the residents and visitors.

I have been visiting my friend for about 2 years and I can honestly say that my opinion of Windmill has been very positive. The staff are lovely and nothing seems too much trouble for them. I visit weekly and was a registered nurse by trade and so I think I would notice if there was a problem regarding care or staff.

My wife went into Mill House in February this year after she got to much for me to care for at home, she has mixed dementia. She was very difficult to care for, she never wanted to go into care and they tried everything including one to one care until they got her to settle into living at Mill House. Mill House is a home from home and I can visit her and leave her knowing she is in safe hands. The staff are all friendly and caring and you feel you are part of a big family. They have plenty of activities and take her out in her wheelchair to visit the mill and river opposite. All I can say is thank you to everyone involved in her care.

Mum's been at Windmill for a couple of months now and we're really glad that she's there. Mum has quite advanced Alzheimer's and she wasn't able to live independently at home after my father died earlier this year. Of course, moving into residential care was a big step for Mum (and the rest of us) but we were really pleased how quickly she adapted to life there. The team are really good at establishing routines which keep Mum as relaxed and calm as possible. She enjoys the sense of community and companionship with staff and the other residents. With dementia there are always going to be good days and bad days, but we feel like Windmill is giving mum the best chance of more of those good days.

I am consistently overwhelmed by the outstanding care and professionalism of all the team, especially Maria, manager.

Generally very happy with the quality of care and staff. There are a few occasions where there has been handling that could be more gentle, but this appears to be with the staff that are not the main carers. Overall, OT, activities etc are v. good Especially singing activities

The Mill House has a homely and friendly atmosphere. The staff seem to go out of their way to support the residents to be active and not 'stuck' in their rooms or chairs staring at a wall. There is a great range of activities my mum gets involved in. The staff are friendly and my mum seems to be enjoying being here overall I feel content knowing my mum is safe and well looked after when I am so far away and can't visit as often as I would like.

I have always found the staff friendly and very caring. You cannot fault their commitment. They all work very hard and put every effort into all the events they hold. My mother is always very complimentary about the food she is given. My family and I are very happy that my mother is in the care of the staff at Windmill House and would like to thank them all for looking after her.

took a little bit of time for Michael to get settled - but he's doing very well now. staff are very lovely & helpful.

'Care' facility. Sadly being bedridden, mum is unable to take part in the many varied activities that are put on for the residents to keep them stimulated and entertained. From everything I witness during my visits these all pay off as between the staff and residents the smiles are bountiful. I could not recommend Windmill House more.

The management were active on the day and was a lovely set up in the garden. All residents seem to enjoy themselves in the garden

My dad has been a resident here now for a few months and I can't rate it highly enough. The whole process has been very smooth which has made it far less stressful. All the staff have gone above and beyond to not only make sure dad is happy and settled but to also support us. The home is beautiful and always very clean, the setting is beautiful and the day trips and activities are brilliant.
