My mother went into Leawood Manor for 16 days respite owing to the fact that I was on holiday and she had been unwell with shingles. This was the first experience of a care home for my mother and unfortunately it wasn't a good experience. She does not suffer from memory issues but the bed available
to her was on a corridor with dementia patients so she did not enjoy eating in the dining room. As she was in pain she didn't appreciate the food. The manager was excellent in every way, responding immediately to any concerns and actioning instructions, she was most personable and totally professional.
Reply from Hira Butt, Home Manager at Leawood ManorThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I am truly sorry to hear that your mother's respite stay did not meet expectations, especially as this was her first experience of a care home and she was already unwell with shingles. We understand how important comfort, environment and dining experience are, particularly when someone is in pain, and I am sorry that this impacted her stay. Your feedback has been noted and will be used to review how we support residents during short-term stays to ensure a more suitable and comfortable experience. I would also like to thank you for your kind words about my support during this time - it is greatly appreciated. Please be assured that we always aim to respond quickly and provide the best possible care. If you would like to discuss this further, I would be more than happy to speak with you.

My father has been at Leawood Manor for 5 years, and it is an excellent care home. The staff are friendly, it is spotlessly clean and the food is excellent. They have an activities coordinator who works extremely hard to keep the residents happy and mobile.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone
looking for care for themselves or a loved one.
Reply from Hira Butt, Home Manager at Leawood ManorThank you for taking the time to leave such a wonderful review. We are truly grateful for your kind words and for the trust you have placed in Leawood Manor over the past five years. It means a great deal to hear that your father feels well cared for and that you have noticed the friendliness of our team, the cleanliness of the home, and the quality of the food we provide. Our staff work very hard to create a warm, welcoming environment for all residents, so your feedback is greatly appreciated. We are also delighted that you have recognised the dedication of our Activities Coordinator. Providing meaningful activities that keep residents engaged, happy and active is a very important part of life at Leawood Manor. Thank you again for your recommendation and for your continued support.

Mum has now been at Leawood Manor for 4 months. It has took a little while but she is now settling in and loves all the carers and staff there. Her health has improved a lot because of the care, good food and constant company she gets. There are plenty of activities, varied to suit all needs and Mum
really enjoys the trips out which are always great fun for her and a chance to meet other residents. We can not fault the standard of care and if we ever do have any feedback it is responded to quickly.

Mum has been a resident of Leawood Manor for nearly two years. Friends recommended it and we knew it had a good reputation. It wasn't a smooth introduction to Leawood as mum had a lot of health issues and took a while to fully settle.
Now, under the new manager, she seems so much happier and feels
very much at home. She loves her ground floor room and access to the garden, very much at the centre of activities. She is a supporter of the Ambassador system and feels that residents are listened to, along with the monthly meetings.
I too, appreciate the family meetings, the weekly emails and general accessibility of the staff. Resident of the day, after initial hiccups, has been an excellent idea. It was good to revisit mum's care plan recently which I hadn't seen since she moved in. The events programme has been good and is now easily accessible, so that relatives can support and encourage their loved ones. The introduction of a personal history for each resident is an excellent idea.

I have held off writing a review as I wanted to reflect my experience over a period of time. Since my wife arrived at Bramwell six months ago, I have been delighted with the care, attention and love that she has experienced. The staff are well trained and enthusiastic in their work and make my visits
pleasurable. Having visited several care homes in the area over the last two years Bramwell stands well above all others in my opinion.
Reply from Mable Joloza, Home Manager at Bramwell Care HomeThank you so much for your incredibly kind words. It truly means a great deal to our whole team to know that you feel your loved one is cared with dignity, compassion, and respect. Many thanks once again.

I visited my old friend (PP), and it was really nice to see how happy she was. Pat was telling me that she goes to feed birds and fills up her bird feeders everyday with reception staff and Claire. I just want to say thank you for all that you do, animals & wildlife have always been important to her.

After making the very difficult decision to put mum into full time care due to dementia - we needn't have worried. From the first day she went in in July 2024 to now mum has received the very best care at Westwood. All of the staff are fantastic from management, carers and support staff, caretakers,
chefs: Nothing is too much trouble. We as a family are very grateful for the care she receives. Would highly recommended Westwood! Can't thank all involved enough - brilliant!

I have been in Bramwell for 8 wks, I have slowly settled in and have made a friend which is helpful for my happiness. The staff are all very kind and a lot of staff speak too quickly for me to understand. The home is lovely and clean and a good temperature. The food is very good but the choice of sandwich
fillings is a bit limited, as is the choice of bread; always white sliced - some variation might be nice.

We visited a friend for the first time in 5 months after her move from Huddersfield to Nottingham. We were very impressed by the welcome we received from all staff from arriving to leaving. Our friend's mental and physical abilities are much improved showing the dedicated work the Bramwell staff have
invested in her. The overall atmosphere in the home was positive and personalized. In particular, we saw a Dementia Awareness board which we gained knowledge from and which detailed what was expected of staff. This was demonstrated by all staff irrespective of their roles and to all residents. The layout of the lounge allowed us to sit and chat with our friend in comfort with clear staff availability with staff at all times but never intrusively. It was reassuring to see our friend settled and so well cared for in such a lovely setting
Reply from Mable Joloza, Home Manager at Bramwell Care HomeThank you very much for your thoughtful comment. When ever you have a concern they always do their best to resolve it - never a problem for them. A care plan in the residents room would be helpful so all staff can see care needs whilst caring for the person so things don't get missed. Always new and interesting activities happening for everyone. More
care could be taken with the laundry sometimes to try and prevent things going missing. They have some very caring staff and greatly appreciate their work. Consistent staff on the same unit would help.
Reply from Claire Phillips, Home manager at WestwoodThankyou for your review, we always enjoy you visiting and brightening our day. Just to reassure, care staff have access to care plans through the PCS devices which are on their person throughout the shift. We do try our best regarding the laundry and are always open to any suggestions as this is an area most residential homes can find difficult. Thankyou for recognising the level of care our team give, this really does mean a lot

Carole, my wife, came to Westwood with Alzheimer's, as I could no longer care for her at home. Best decision ever! From day one, she has been cared for with love and affection by all the staff - from the Manager down to the Caretaker - wonderful. Never heard a harsh word and I leave knowing she is in
good hands. This is echoed by my 3 daughters and all the family and friends who visit. Deserves Excellent Plus in all departments.

My mum has been a resident at Westwood for 18 months now and has been treated with nothing but care and dignity from the off. They took time to learn about my mums personality and behaviours and the carers that look after my mum on a daily basis couldn't be nicer. The activity plan that Westwood put
on is great and everyone from the manage of the home to the chef and maintenance man are all caring and compassionate and go above and beyond to look after everyone.

Overall the care was ok, the staff were friendly and nothing really seemed too much trouble. The food was really good quality and looked very appetising. The only negative comment would be this was not particularly local to me and did entail a lengthy journey everyday and that was totally out of the
hands of the home but was more to do with a placement being available.
I couldn't give it five stars as I do think some of the care could have been a bit better particularly nursing care, however it made the last two weeks of my mothers life more bearable. I do think it would have been a nice gesture though to extend condolences once my mum died.
Reply from Heather Limb, Home Manager at Jubilee Court Care Home with NursingThank you for taking the time to leave a review. I understand that your concerns regarding the nursing care have been addressed previously by the management team. I would like to assure you that your experiences and opinions were actioned and improvements made.
