I visited my old friend (PP), and it was really nice to see how happy she was. Pat was telling me that she goes to feed birds and fills up her bird feeders everyday with reception staff and Claire. I just want to say thank you for all that you do, animals & wildlife have always been important to her.

After making the very difficult decision to put mum into full time care due to dementia - we needn't have worried. From the first day she went in in July 2024 to now mum has received the very best care at Westwood. All of the staff are fantastic from management, carers and support staff, caretakers,
chefs: Nothing is too much trouble. We as a family are very grateful for the care she receives. Would highly recommended Westwood! Can't thank all involved enough - brilliant!

I have been in Bramwell for 8 wks, I have slowly settled in and have made a friend which is helpful for my happiness. The staff are all very kind and a lot of staff speak too quickly for me to understand. The home is lovely and clean and a good temperature. The food is very good but the choice of sandwich
fillings is a bit limited, as is the choice of bread; always white sliced - some variation might be nice.

We visited a friend for the first time in 5 months after her move from Huddersfield to Nottingham. We were very impressed by the welcome we received from all staff from arriving to leaving. Our friend's mental and physical abilities are much improved showing the dedicated work the Bramwell staff have
invested in her. The overall atmosphere in the home was positive and personalized. In particular, we saw a Dementia Awareness board which we gained knowledge from and which detailed what was expected of staff. This was demonstrated by all staff irrespective of their roles and to all residents. The layout of the lounge allowed us to sit and chat with our friend in comfort with clear staff availability with staff at all times but never intrusively. It was reassuring to see our friend settled and so well cared for in such a lovely setting
Reply from Mable Joloza, Home Manager at Bramwell Care HomeThank you very much for your thoughtful comment. We are pleased that you are happy with the care provided to your loved one, this means a lot to the entire team at Bramwell and we would like to thank you very much for taking your time to give us a review.

When ever you have a concern they always do their best to resolve it - never a problem for them. A care plan in the residents room would be helpful so all staff can see care needs whilst caring for the person so things don't get missed. Always new and interesting activities happening for everyone. More
care could be taken with the laundry sometimes to try and prevent things going missing. They have some very caring staff and greatly appreciate their work. Consistent staff on the same unit would help.
Reply from Claire Phillips, Home manager at WestwoodThankyou for your review, we always enjoy you visiting and brightening our day. Just to reassure, care staff have access to care plans through the PCS devices which are on their person throughout the shift. We do try our best regarding the laundry and are always open to any suggestions as this is an area most residential homes can find difficult. Thankyou for recognising the level of care our team give, this really does mean a lot

Carole, my wife, came to Westwood with Alzheimer's, as I could no longer care for her at home. Best decision ever! From day one, she has been cared for with love and affection by all the staff - from the Manager down to the Caretaker - wonderful. Never heard a harsh word and I leave knowing she is in
good hands. This is echoed by my 3 daughters and all the family and friends who visit. Deserves Excellent Plus in all departments.

My mum has been a resident at Westwood for 18 months now and has been treated with nothing but care and dignity from the off. They took time to learn about my mums personality and behaviours and the carers that look after my mum on a daily basis couldn't be nicer. The activity plan that Westwood put
on is great and everyone from the manage of the home to the chef and maintenance man are all caring and compassionate and go above and beyond to look after everyone.

Jubilee Court Care Home with Nursing

from Anthony C (Son of Resident) published on 14 January 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Overall the care was ok, the staff were friendly and nothing really seemed too much trouble. The food was really good quality and looked very appetising. The only negative comment would be this was not particularly local to me and did entail a lengthy journey everyday and that was totally out of the
hands of the home but was more to do with a placement being available.

I couldn't give it five stars as I do think some of the care could have been a bit better particularly nursing care, however it made the last two weeks of my mothers life more bearable. I do think it would have been a nice gesture though to extend condolences once my mum died.

Reply from Heather Limb, Home Manager at Jubilee Court Care Home with NursingThank you for taking the time to leave a review. I understand that your concerns regarding the nursing care have been addressed previously by the management team. I would like to assure you that your experiences and opinions were actioned and improvements made. We are pleased that we were able to provide some comfort to you and your mother during her final weeks and to allow for a comfortable environment for you to visit during those precious times.

My mum, now 93 years old, has been a resident of Maun View Care Home since August 2018. She came to Maun View from hospital after suffering falls and because she has dementia and could no longer live alone. She receives excellent care, retains her dignity and the activities keep her stimulated which
is so important. Maun View carers are all excellent, they look after Mum as family. I'm so happy she lives at Maun View as it gives family peace of mind!

I'm more than happy with my mum's care. Lots to do, she just needs a bit of a push to join in at times.
However, she does get anxious because another resident goes into her room on occasion and search through room and takes things which upsets my mum.
Other than that, I'm totally happy.

We are so proud of Westwood Care Home for the fantastic care they gave to mum and to us. Everyone went above and beyond and got mum & us through some very difficult times with such grace & compassion. They treated us like family and we shall never ever forget them. Every department has the upmost respect
for each resident and the families. We entrusted our lovely mum into their care after a lot of soul searching but need not have worried as she was in the best possible safe hands.
The facilities and the activities that were made available were absolutely brilliant and this was ever present in all the lovely smiles on the residents faces when they went to them. Each member of staff knew every single resident by their name and always extremely kind, caring, compassionate and respectful to all the residents ensuring that they are all happy and the staff always had a smile on their face. All the staff was so very helpful to us & guided us through each stage. We can't thank you enoughx
