The care home is always very clean even the individual bedrooms. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, they greet us with a smile on every visit. I have experienced a few other care homes and I believe Leawood Manor is the best one for my relative. They are going the extra mile to try and deal with the relatives anxieties and melt downs. I am also impressed that the care home send out weekly emails with information and all the activities they doing during the week. The online discussions about Dementia and other conditions are useful to know and we intend to attend one of these in the very near future. Thank you Leawood and especially the senior staff for a being an outstanding care home!

My 90-year old friend who has dementia has been resident at Leawood Manor for 3 years. Her quality of life improved significantly when she moved in. The care and support she receives is maintaining the same standard of wellbeing. The dementia awareness sessions which Leawood Manor provides for family and friends has given helpful insight on how we can work together to keep my friend in a happy frame of mind.
The staff are caring and kind . The facilities are clean and comfortable and the food is excellent, with stringent attention to dietary needs.
Since the new Manager came last year, there has been increased focus on staff training and on regular communication with friends and family. This results in any issues being picked up and resolved quickly. It is noticeable that many of the staff have become more confident under the new leadership and this has created a happy and homely atmosphere.

In my view, Leawood Manor has always been Very Good, but now it is Excellent.

My in-laws were resident at Leawood Manor for over 4 years. I cannot fault the care and support they were both given during their time at the home, nor the support we were given at some very difficult times. The care and well-being teams, kitchen and housekeeping teams and admin were friendly and helpful at all times. The relationships staff built with them gave them confidence that they were being heard and their needs were being met, which reassured us. The variety of activities on offer kept them entertained and engaged. After my father-in-law's death, the care given to my mother-in-law, particularly by the team in Beech, was outstanding. My mother-in-law continued to flourish emotionally, despite failing health and becoming more reliant on the carers' physical support. She was very clear that she did not wish to be taken to hospital and the support she, and we, received during her final weeks ensured she was peaceful, content, loved and dignified at the end of her life.

Leawood Manor care home looked after both my parents for the last few years of their life's. They were both very happy and well cared for during this time. My mother enjoyed the variety of activities on offer and they both enjoyed the trips out to garden centres , cafes and pubs. During my frequent visits I was always impressed with how the skilled staff looked after the residents always maintaining their dignity , despite various declining conditions. The staff knew Mum so well and were always able to engage her in conversation or a jolly sing song , and to keep her cheerful . During her 4+year stay they ,along with the other residents became her friends and family , and I was confident that Mum was well cared for and loved . I always felt supported by the staff and their kindness was always appreciated .There was always good communication and updates from the care team leaders .I would have no hesitation in recommending Leawood Manor to anyone who needs care.

Mum continues to enjoy her time at Leawood. I have been very pleased with the steps that have been taken to help all residents during the hot weather - ice creams, water cooler and activities in the shade.
The themed lunches have been a great success. We loved the fact that a family table had been set up for us for the French meal. The food was really delicious - congratulations to Gary and his team.

During a recent Community Coffee Morning we were able to celebrate Mum's birthday as a family - she was delighted with her cake and birthday greetings sung by the staff. All these personal touches are so important.

Mum has been at Leawood for 5 months now and we are very pleased with the care she is receiving. All of the staff are friendly and communication is very good. We are able to email the manager directly and often receive a response within five minutes. We are kept informed of anything relevant to mum's care and our comments are always addressed.
The home itself is very nicely decorated and mum's room is beautiful, spacious and bright. The ensuite bathroom is very welcome and is set up as a wet room with a shower chair which is very practical.
The food is good and they cater for specific diets and for those with eating difficulties. They welcome family members to join mealtimes and there are always drinks and snacks available.

I'm also impressed with the packed schedule of events each week - there are trips to garden centres, local cafes, etc and lots of events also within the home. The garden is also a bonus and the onsite 'cafe' is available to host family gatherings.

Dad has suffered from Parkinson's disease for about 9 years and his symptoms have worsened significantly over time. I love my dad dearly and my role as 24/7 Carer has been stressful and exhausting. It fractured the once close relationship we had. I was heartbroken in January when, after a number of serious falls and lengthy hospital stays, my mother and I agreed we could no longer manage and keep him (or ourselves) safe at home. After an extensive search for the best placement for him, we came across Leawood Manor.
Dad moved into Leawood Manor in April of this year, and we couldn't be happier. All aspects of his Care is exemplary and a huge weight has been lifted off our shoulders, enabling us to get our loving relationship back.

Dad's Care is complex, with time - critical medication and a high risk of falls - the home keep me and mum constantly updated and briefed on any issues or concerns, and regularly involve us in his evolving Care and Risk Management plans.

October 2024, your nursing home was complicit in hiding mum's location from myself and my wife, as my sister had our mother admitted without my knowledge. After a month of investigation we were 99% sure that mum now resided at Leawood Manor, but still your Manager denied this. This behaviour destroyed my mental wellbeing, not knowing if my mum was dead, and would I ever get to see her again. In December 2024 we turned up at Leawood Manor to see the Manager, after seeking legal advice, as we had a joint LPA and every right to see Mum. When asked if she wanted to see us, her answer was a resounding YES! We were then granted visitation and asked for a full investigation as to how restrictions could be placed against a family member without any evidence.

In August 2025 the Nursing home failed in Mum's basic care, as she fell and broke her leg. We believe a lack of physiotherapy and aftercare has lead to her imobility (now confined to a wheelchair) and her health has rapidly declined.

The care home was very helpful in a difficult situation Mum did not want to go into a carehome and was in a state of shock when she got there. Her arrival could have been managed a little more sensitively. Several staff breezed in to say welcome which she wasn't prepared for. She had a nice room with a lovely view of the trees, which helped as she didn't really want to leave her room.
She said she wasn't happy there and was desperate to leave but I don't know why. She suffers from memory loss so she couldn't explain. It is possible that she didn't like men attending to her. This should be a specific question when a new resident arrives.
The manager was extremely helpful throughout the stay. I did not deal with any other staff so that it is a lot to ask of the manager. She helped me move Mum after respite to another Runwood home, near my home.
Admin was all sorted on the day of arrival, including getting a daily newspaper.

Meals and cutlery were too big

My 96 year old Mum came to this care home 10 days ago it was a hard decision for all the family.. but it was the right decision. My mother spent 2 weeks at Leawood Manor for respite having been discharged from hospital after having a fall. Sadly, the only room available was on the upper floor, usually designated for those suffering from dementia. Although this did not affect the care she received, I think she would have been more at ease on the ground floor. This aside, the care, the facilities and the staff are second to none. And if necessary, I know she would be more than happy to return (on the ground floor)

We moved my father (94 years old) into Leawood Manor mid February following a fall and hospital stay from which he needed more dedicated support than he could get from standard home visits. From day 1, the staff were welcoming and implemented the agreed level of care was outlined in the agreed care plan. The manager is fully engaged in the wellbeing of residents and relatives any issues or changes needed quickly. Sadly my father passed away in March and we were treated professionally and with dignity throughout.

Hira ButtJob Title:Home Manager

Hi, I’m Hira, and I’m so happy to introduce myself as the new Home Manager here at Leawood Manor.

I’ve worked in care for over 12 years, across a range of settings, and have spent the last couple of years in management. I’ve been with Runwood Homes for just under two years, and it’s been a great journey so far. Stepping into this new role at Leawood is something I feel both proud and excited about.

Caring for others has always been a big part of who I am. I grew up surrounded by older relatives whose stories and wisdom made a lasting impact on me. That’s where my passion for person-centred care comes from, making sure people feel truly known, respected, and supported in a way that suits them and their life story.

Outside of work, I’m a mum to two lovely boys who keep me busy! I enjoy cooking, trying out new recipes, and making memories on family holidays. I’m very family-oriented, and I like to bring that same warmth into the home, making sure our residents feel like part of one big extended family.

Leawood Manor already has a lovely feel to it, and my aim is to build on that. I want to bring in fresh energy, support the team in doing their best work, and help make every day a positive experience for our residents. Whether that’s through thoughtful changes, new activities, or simply creating more moments of connection and joy, I’m here to make a difference.

I’m really looking forward to getting to know everyone, residents, families, staff, and the local community. My door is always open for a chat!

Hi, I’m Sue, and I’ve been a Lifestyle Coordinator at Leawood Manor for the past 5 years. I feel very privileged to do this role and the rewards are immense.

I like to adopt a person-centred approach to well-being, and it’s important for me to tailor the activities around each individual resident's interests and needs.

Our diverse activities program focuses on their emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and physical needs and enables residents to carry on with hobbies and interests they undertook prior to coming to Leawood as well as experiencing a few new ones along the way! all-important to promote independence and self-worth

Behind the scenes, we are always looking at organising events, encouraging friendship groups, and dementia cafes, and being involved in the local community.

My role goes far beyond organising activities; it’s about empowerment and offering support to allow residents to lead the life they wish to lead.

My name is Gary. After spending 13 years in hotel and restaurant catering, I transitioned to the care sector with a clear purpose: to make a positive impact on food services within the care industry. Since joining Leawood Manor, I’ve been proud to play a key role in driving this change, earning numerous awards and accolades along the way.

Building strong, personal relationships with our residents has been a cornerstone of my approach, allowing me to deliver a person-centred service and tailor menus that reflect their individual preferences and needs.

The daily interactions with residents bring me immense satisfaction, and I’m continually inspired by the impact I can make in their lives.
