Mum has now been with the great team at Leawood Manor for 4 months now and I would like to say that the staff and management of this care home have all been fantastic. With all the difficulties of going into care with the COVID restrictions, they have communicated with us very effectively from day one.
They have great access to the GP surgery, district nurse and dentist which my mother has tested each service already and would have been really hard to do if she had stayed at home. The staff there keep us informed of any issues that are happening with Mum and deal with it very professionally. The rooms are superb and even though we sadly cannot visit we can tell from the FaceTime calls that they are very clean and to a high standard. They have some good activities going on which is communicated by an active Facebook page which although my mum cannot take part in most of the time she will enjoy watching the others partake. Thank you, Leawood for making this a great experience to date.

The staff went above and beyond to care for my Dad in the last year of his life. They kept him safe in the most difficult of times. Our frustrations with not being able to see him were met with compassion and understanding. Sadly his fight with Dementia came to an end on the 16th of November. During
the last few days of his life, the staff kept us informed every step of the way. We will be forever grateful to them for allowing us time to be with him when he passed away. We will miss you all.

We have been so grateful to the manager and all the staff at this wonderful care home. Our father moved there in April 2020 direct from hospital during the early days of COVID. He was extremely ill, confused and unhappy. The staff have worked tirelessly to support him and us during this time. The
home is scrupulously clean and comfortable, with beautiful gardens. When visiting has been allowed, the staff have been as accommodating as possible. When we Skype every morning we have witnessed how caring the staff are - greeting our father affectionately and stroking his cheek.
The fact that his condition has stabilised and his mental capacity improved is down to the hard work and effort made by all. As a family we cannot thank them enough.

In all my interactions with Leawood, I have been dealt with in a highly professional manner. The staff are all friendly and welcoming in all the times I have visited. Due to Covid, I have not been able to go into Leawood which I fully understand. However, staff always keep me updated on Dad's welfare.
Some comments I cannot make as I have not yet been inside the home.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, this was our first visit since February. We visited outside in the garden which was very pleasant. We were very impressed with the staff who were friendly, and following all the guidelines. It was so nice to see nana again and we are sure she felt the same.

My mum has been in Leawood Manor for several months now. The home is located in a quiet and pleasant setting. It is secure, neat, tidy and spotlessly clean.
From the start, the home management have been accessible and have communicated straightforwardly. That gave us confidence in placing Mum with
the home. That confidence has been repeatedly reinforced over the last few months. All the staff I have met when visiting my mum have been pleasant and several have been very friendly. They all seem to care about the residents they look after and have been very caring towards my mum.
The home has had a few COVID-19 cases but the home have communicated the issue and their response clearly and promptly. They seem to have a difficult situation under control. I'm unsurprised given the care and attention I have seen from management and staff. Despite the pressures, staff found time to arrange a private, socially-distanced visit to my mum. That was especially kind. Thank you.

The Manager and all the Care Staff at Leawood Manor are amazing. I cannot speak more highly of all.
In these dreadful times we are experiencing right now, the photos of residents appear daily on social media page so we can all see how our loved ones are. Extremely thoughtful of everyone.

Hi, I’m Hira, and I’m so happy to introduce myself as the new Home Manager here at Leawood Manor.


I’ve worked in care for over 12 years, across a range of settings, and have spent the last couple of years in management. I’ve been with Runwood Homes for just under two years, and it’s been a great journey so far. Stepping into this new role at Leawood is something I feel both proud and excited about.


Caring for others has always been a big part of who I am. I grew up surrounded by older relatives whose stories and wisdom made a lasting impact on me. That’s where my passion for person-centred care comes from, making sure people feel truly known, respected, and supported in a way that suits them and their life story.


Outside of work, I’m a mum to two lovely boys who keep me busy! I enjoy cooking, trying out new recipes, and making memories on family holidays. I’m very family-oriented, and I like to bring that same warmth into the home, making sure our residents feel like part of one big extended family.


Leawood Manor already has a lovely feel to it, and my aim is to build on that. I want to bring in fresh energy, support the team in doing their best work, and help make every day a positive experience for our residents. Whether that’s through thoughtful changes, new activities, or simply creating more moments of connection and joy, I’m here to make a difference.


I’m really looking forward to getting to know everyone, residents, families, staff, and the local community. My door is always open for a chat!

Hi, I’m Sue, and I’ve been a Lifestyle Coordinator at Leawood Manor for the past 5 years. I feel very privileged to do this role and the rewards are immense.


I like to adopt a person-centred approach to well-being, and it’s important for me to tailor the activities around each individual resident's interests and needs.


Our diverse activities program focuses on their emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and physical needs and enables residents to carry on with hobbies and interests they undertook prior to coming to Leawood as well as experiencing a few new ones along the way! all-important to promote independence and self-worth
Behind the scenes, we are always looking at organising events, encouraging friendship groups, and dementia cafes, and being involved in the local community.


My role goes far beyond organising activities; it’s about empowerment and offering support to allow residents to lead the life they wish to lead.

My name is Gary. After spending 13 years in hotel and restaurant catering, I transitioned to the care sector with a clear purpose: to make a positive impact on food services within the care industry. Since joining Leawood Manor, I’ve been proud to play a key role in driving this change, earning numerous awards and accolades along the way.


Building strong, personal relationships with our residents has been a cornerstone of my approach, allowing me to deliver a person-centred service and tailor menus that reflect their individual preferences and needs.


The daily interactions with residents bring me immense satisfaction, and I’m continually inspired by the impact I can make in their lives.


I have no regrets about my career shift, and I’m motivated every day by the rewarding work I do. I look forward to continuing to serve our residents and contributing to the high standards we have set at Leawood Manor for many years to come.
