My mother went into Leawood Manor for 16 days respite owing to the fact that I was on holiday and she had been unwell with shingles. This was the first experience of a care home for my mother and unfortunately it wasn't a good experience. She does not suffer from memory issues but the bed available
to her was on a corridor with dementia patients so she did not enjoy eating in the dining room. As she was in pain she didn't appreciate the food. The manager was excellent in every way, responding immediately to any concerns and actioning instructions, she was most personable and totally professional.

My father has been at Leawood Manor for 5 years, and it is an excellent care home. The staff are friendly, it is spotlessly clean and the food is excellent. They have an activities coordinator who works extremely hard to keep the residents happy and mobile.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone
looking for care for themselves or a loved one.

Mum has now been at Leawood Manor for 4 months. It has took a little while but she is now settling in and loves all the carers and staff there. Her health has improved a lot because of the care, good food and constant company she gets. There are plenty of activities, varied to suit all needs and Mum
really enjoys the trips out which are always great fun for her and a chance to meet other residents. We can not fault the standard of care and if we ever do have any feedback it is responded to quickly.

Mum has been a resident of Leawood Manor for nearly two years. Friends recommended it and we knew it had a good reputation. It wasn't a smooth introduction to Leawood as mum had a lot of health issues and took a while to fully settle.
Now, under the new manager, she seems so much happier and feels
very much at home. She loves her ground floor room and access to the garden, very much at the centre of activities. She is a supporter of the Ambassador system and feels that residents are listened to, along with the monthly meetings.
I too, appreciate the family meetings, the weekly emails and general accessibility of the staff. Resident of the day, after initial hiccups, has been an excellent idea. It was good to revisit mum's care plan recently which I hadn't seen since she moved in. The events programme has been good and is now easily accessible, so that relatives can support and encourage their loved ones. The introduction of a personal history for each resident is an excellent idea.

I have been made very welcome here by all the staff. My room is comfortable and cleared thoroughly every day. The food is well cooked in the kitchen and is always fresh. We have a choice of main course most meals.

Father is not the easiest of resident with continual moaning, complaining about staff, and refusing to do as staff ask. I have been impressed at how the staff have handled various situations in what is already a stressful situation.
Management are good at keeping me informed about situations and
also after GP visits. There is a noticeable improvement in communications over the last month between the care home and relatives of residents.

My mum has always been treated with the utmost respect and care. Staff are all very courteous and patient. Her room is always clean and tidy. Trips out in minibus are always varied and mum enjoys them immensely, pleased they are starting again. Meals are varied and look very good. Perhaps they could
have a theme eg, Indian or Greek occasionally (understand they need to cater for all residents) though.

During the few weeks my friend has been resident at this home, I have been very impressed with the care and dedication of everyone of the staff I have had contact with, which gives the impression of good leadership. I feel confident in the care my friend is receiving.

The care that my mothers receives at Leawood has always been absolutely first class. All the staff , irrespective of their role /position , are always polite , caring , good humoured, and helpful . The facilities in the home are excellent and an imaginative range of activies means that there is
always something to keep the residents interested and entertained

We were concerned that our relative had just received her breakfast at 11.00am. She regularly complains about not being up at normal times. We have visited several times mid morning to find her just starting her breakfast.

Leawood Manor provides high quality care for my friend. It is well managed and the staff are friendly and professional and work hard to keep everyone happy. There's a good standard of hygiene and the accommodation is spacious, comfortable and modern. She enjoys her meals and all her dietary needs
are consistently met. Her medical needs are well monitored and managed. The kindness and support she receives enables her still to do things that mean a lot to her even though dementia has affected her memory and other aspects of daily living.

Wonderful facility. However there is not enough freedom for the residents to walk around and stretch their legs due to so many locked off areas.
My father who is a resident has felt very down recently due to the lack of this "freedom". As he is one of the more mobile residents, having him trapped
in one one is deeply depressing for him so I wish the door near the tuck shop would be removed as it feels so unnecessary and restrictive.
Other than that, the staff are lovely and the trips out they organise are fantastic.

My mum settled into Leawood in a few days and is living here quite happily now She is well cared for and included in various activities which she enjoys. The staff are attentive and thoughtful.

I am happy with my wifes general and the programme of planned activities. The accommodation is very good, purpose light clean and functional. Less happy with carers do not seem interested, seem to just sit with mobiles on. Very little interaction with residents do not sit with them or engage in
conversation. Do not speak to me on visits apart from one lady.

What a gem Leawood Manor is. Although my father was only there for a short time, he received the best care any family could wish for.
Every single member of staff deserves a special mention. All were kind and considerate, compassionate and kind.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Leawood Manor.

January 2023, to date, my mother has been resident at Leawood Manor. From her residency, she has had great care. The attention is first class. The patience, empathy, nurture and attention is remarkable. My mother has relaxed in a small peer group, which meets her needs.
Some residents are more
gregarious than others and those that need more encouragement to join in the social activities within the home get it. The staff understand and attempt to match all residents' needs through their observations/assessments. Cultural, religious and personal needs are celebrated and respected from my observations and with an open door policy of the management, I feel confident that any concerns will be heard and can be addressed quickly. Furthermore, the residents and relatives meetings is a great way of communicating. To absolutely
all the staff, a big thank you for providing peace in knowing that our most precious loved ones are not invisible and have a voice and matter, in a safe environment.

I have found Leawood Manor excellent. My friend enjoys it here very much. The staff are wonderful and spoil my friend rotten! The care is excellent, they always take the time to listen and reassure.
Many thanks to all concerned.

My mum was a regular visitor to Leawood for respite care for 2 or 3 weeks at a time whilst I was away with my work. She got to know the staff really well. They always looked after her so well and really did everything they could to ensure she was happy and comfortable. Mum was very bright mentally
but got frailer over time with the years but I always had complete peace of mind that she was being well looked after whilst I was away. She spoke so highly of all the staff and I always found the managers so supportive and helpful to me as a daughter and a carer and all that entails. That care to me extended to when Mum became ill and hospitalised and I was wanting to bring her back to Leawood but it was not to be. Mum sadly passed away at the end of January 2024. The manager was supportive to me on the phone at that time and I am so grateful for that. On a happier note, I donated our piano to Leawood and I understand it is bringing much joy to residents. Mum would like that.
