Following a fall at his home, my father moved into Leawood Manor Care Home for two weeks of respite care and stayed on until his passing away. Although there for only two months, the staff at the home very quickly got to know him and cared for him with great love and respect. They were also very welcoming
to me and the rest of Dad's family.
The accommodation was clean and bright, the food very much to my father's liking and there were always plenty of activities to join in with, particularly over the Christmas period. As Dad's health deteriorated, the staff looked after his medical needs very attentively and were quick to contact the family and involve us in discussions whenever required.
I take great heart from the knowledge that Dad's final days were spent in such a loving and caring environment as Leawood Manor and that his passing was as peaceful as possible.

Mum had (almost) 3 happy years at Leawood Manor after moving there after a broken hip. She settled in well, initially for respite, then agreed to stay permanently. She had an ideal balance of privacy in her own room, plus opportunities to mix with others. Staff were always friendly and available to
help, and management were good at addressing any concerns if raised. Mum's main carer was good at liaising when any medical or care issues arose. The setting is quiet and semi-rural with nice grounds, good food and clean and well-decorated throughout. During the Covid times staff were helpful with garden visits, social media portal calls etc. The only minor quibble is that sometimes she would be wearing clothing that wasn't her own, also shoes sometimes went missing. I would highly recommend this care home, we liked the atmosphere as soon as we walked in.

My mum moved to Leawood after a short time in another local residential home where she was struggling to settle in. Straight away, the staff at Leawood were so engaging and quickly became aware of the support that Mum needed to reduce her anxiety and confusion. They would encourage and support her to
join in the activities they knew she would enjoy and also helped her form friendship groups which were so important, as Mum wasn't a confident mixer.
Mum was at Leawood until she passed earlier this month, and I can honestly say that whilst it is a really difficult decision to make to move a loved one into residential care, Leawood did everything they could to make this feel like home. Right up until the end, they were kind, considerate, respectful and caring to both my mother and my family.

Our mum went into Leawood Manor on the 2nd of December and as soon as we walked in we got that really warm homely feeling. The staff, in my opinion, went way above and beyond to make Mum feel very very welcome and could feel the love and affection coming from the whole team, from the manager to the
support staff. The team leaders again in my opinion showed true commitment to looking after all the residents with wholehearted compassion and love. Mum was only there 12 days before she passed at 01:50am this morning but we as a family couldn't fault the professionalism and compassion they showed towards her in her final hours. As sad and upsetting for us to lose our mum, the whole team from the manager to the tea ladies were so compassionate towards us and feeling the grief we are suffering. We would highly, highly recommend Leawood Manor to any family that needs total care and love for their loved ones in their time of need. Thank you so much for all you've done for us.

My mum needed to move to a care home following two quick breaks in succession - both requiring hospital stays of several weeks. The manager was extremely understanding and caring. Mum was offered a place that could have been for just recovery or longer if she wasn't able to cope on her own. She has
been there coming up for a year now. The staff are very helpful and caring and I am confident she is being extremely well looked after. They are keen to look after my mum's mental health as well as her physical health. My mum's friends who have visited have also commented on how good the home is (they have visited others) and how kind and friendly the staff are.

Mum urgently needed respite care in mid-October after a fall. I contacted the manager at Leawood Manor on Friday evening and he arranged to have a lovely, bright and spacious room ready for her to take up the following Monday. Very sadly, Mum died early in November, but I could not be more thankful
that during her last few weeks, she was cared for with great kindness and thoughtfulness by all the staff at Leawood Manor. I felt completely confident that Mum, who was also living with dementia, was safe, secure and well-looked after, which meant I was able to spend lots of time with her, instead of worrying about anything else.

My Dad moved to Leawood Manor this year after deciding as a family that he was no longer safe to live independently at home. Dad has settled in well and has a good sized room with an en suite and private patio with views of the lovely rear gardens. Dad gets on well with the staff at Leawood Manor and
has formed some strong friendships - a testament to the time and attention all of the care team give to the residents. The food is of good quality with a daily changing menu which is displayed in the corridors. There are lots of activities and things to do throughout the week thanks to the activities team, with residents free to take part in as much or as little as they like. The home is clean throughout, has a modern yet homely decor and is well maintained. As a family member, I find all of the staff to be approachable, friendly and willing to help with anything at any time - from management through to support staff.

My mum was very happy during the eight and a half years she spent at Leawood Manor, thanks to the care and dedication of all the staff. We were often humbled by their thoughtfulness towards both residents and relatives. We were very grateful for the continuity of staff and care that is available at

We moved our mum to Leawood Manor to be closer to both of her sons. The care she received seemed very good, and the fact that there was a constant supply of staff was good. Mum was probably hard work, but she loved her room and made friends with many of the staff. Covid didn't help.

My mum has been a resident of Leawood Manor since April 2021. She has dementia and was unable to care for herself and live independently anymore. Since living at Leawood she is very settled and relaxed. She receives excellent care from the lovely staff and we are so happy we chose this care home. She
has a lovely room with an ensuite and is very comfortable and happy.

This is a really lovely home which gave my mother a great standard of care in the two years she lived there. The staff are loving and supportive towards the residents and are equally welcoming to relatives. The management team, care staff, cleaning, catering and admin teams are friendly, flexible, and
responsive. Rooms are spacious, food is good, and the communal areas are well decorated. Activities for those residents who are able to engage are creative and innovative. We never regretted our decision to entrust mum to Leawood. Highly recommended.

My mother and father moved to Leawood Manor in 2017. Mum stayed over 4 years, Dad just over a year. When I first met the staff, I was sure they would be in good hands. Nothing has changed my mind since. The house is very well managed, scrupulously clean, light and airy, friendly and comfortable.

This is the first time I have had experiences of a residential care home and must commend Leawood Manor staff and management on their care and professionalism in looking after a gentleman of 103.

My father has been a resident at Leawood Manor for just over a year, suffering from Parkinson's and Lewy bodies dementia. The staff from management, through careers to auxiliary levels, have been excellent. They are respectful, kind and considerate. Unfortunately, my father died in July whilst in their
care. They could not have done any more to make his last days as comfortable as possible. We were able to visit daily, staff tested us well, and were as unobtrusive as possible. I would certainly recommend Leawood Manor to anyone wanting the best for a member of the family.

My wife was in Leawood Manor from October 2019. Until COVID, I visited almost every day and took her out for the day on Saturday and Sunday so I became known. I always found the staff cheerful, helpful and caring and this continued after the onset of COVID. My wife was physically largley incapable especially
during the last six months, but I was always confident that she would get the proper care and that I would be told of any problems.

My mother went into Leawood initially for respite care after feeling unwell. Staff collected her from home and were very kind. After a few days, she requested to stay on a permanent basis as she liked the home and the staff. On my visits, I have been very impressed by the care that Mother has received

Due to COVID, the visits have been very limited, but the staff have made a great effort for me to see my wife through the glass. This past year due to the Corona virus has been difficult, to say the least! Sometimes during the lockdown, there were no visits allowed, sometimes it was gardens visits and sometimes just a wave through the window. However, the staff did their very best to accommodate the visitors and they had our
relatives best interests at heart. Now we can visit indoors (only 1 designated visitor) which is wonderful.

Hi, I’m Hira, and I’m so happy to introduce myself as the new Home Manager here at Leawood Manor.


I’ve worked in care for over 12 years, across a range of settings, and have spent the last couple of years in management. I’ve been with Runwood Homes for just under two years, and it’s been a great journey so far. Stepping into this new role at Leawood is something I feel both proud and excited about.


Caring for others has always been a big part of who I am. I grew up surrounded by older relatives whose stories and wisdom made a lasting impact on me. That’s where my passion for person-centred care comes from, making sure people feel truly known, respected, and supported in a way that suits them and their life story.


Outside of work, I’m a mum to two lovely boys who keep me busy! I enjoy cooking, trying out new recipes, and making memories on family holidays. I’m very family-oriented, and I like to bring that same warmth into the home, making sure our residents feel like part of one big extended family.


Leawood Manor already has a lovely feel to it, and my aim is to build on that. I want to bring in fresh energy, support the team in doing their best work, and help make every day a positive experience for our residents. Whether that’s through thoughtful changes, new activities, or simply creating more moments of connection and joy, I’m here to make a difference.


I’m really looking forward to getting to know everyone, residents, families, staff, and the local community. My door is always open for a chat!

I am passionate about providing compassionate, person-centred care and am committed to ensuring the highest standards of care for the residents. My extensive background in both hands-on care and management equips me with the skills to lead and support my team effectively, always putting the well-being and dignity of those we care for at the forefront of everything I do here at Leawood Manor.

Hi, I’m Sue, and I’ve been a Lifestyle Coordinator at Leawood Manor for the past 5 years. I feel very privileged to do this role and the rewards are immense.


I like to adopt a person-centred approach to well-being, and it’s important for me to tailor the activities around each individual resident's interests and needs.


Our diverse activities program focuses on their emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and physical needs and enables residents to carry on with hobbies and interests they undertook prior to coming to Leawood as well as experiencing a few new ones along the way! all-important to promote independence and self-worth
Behind the scenes, we are always looking at organising events, encouraging friendship groups, and dementia cafes, and being involved in the local community.


My role goes far beyond organising activities; it’s about empowerment and offering support to allow residents to lead the life they wish to lead.

My name is Gary. After spending 13 years in hotel and restaurant catering, I transitioned to the care sector with a clear purpose: to make a positive impact on food services within the care industry. Since joining Leawood Manor, I’ve been proud to play a key role in driving this change, earning numerous awards and accolades along the way.


Building strong, personal relationships with our residents has been a cornerstone of my approach, allowing me to deliver a person-centred service and tailor menus that reflect their individual preferences and needs.


The daily interactions with residents bring me immense satisfaction, and I’m continually inspired by the impact I can make in their lives.


I have no regrets about my career shift, and I’m motivated every day by the rewarding work I do. I look forward to continuing to serve our residents and contributing to the high standards we have set at Leawood Manor for many years to come.
