My mother went into Leawood Manor for 16 days respite owing to the fact that I was on holiday and she had been unwell with shingles. This was the first experience of a care home for my mother and unfortunately it wasn't a good experience. She does not suffer from memory issues but the bed available
to her was on a corridor with dementia patients so she did not enjoy eating in the dining room. As she was in pain she didn't appreciate the food. The manager was excellent in every way, responding immediately to any concerns and actioning instructions, she was most personable and totally professional.
Reply from Hira Butt, Home Manager at Leawood ManorThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I am truly sorry to hear that your mother's respite stay did not meet expectations, especially as this was her first experience of a care home and she was already unwell with shingles. We understand how important comfort, environment and dining experience are, particularly when someone is in pain, and I am sorry that this impacted her stay. Your feedback has been noted and will be used to review how we support residents during short-term stays to ensure a more suitable and comfortable experience. I would also like to thank you for your kind words about my support during this time - it is greatly appreciated. Please be assured that we always aim to respond quickly and provide the best possible care. If you would like to discuss this further, I would be more than happy to speak with you.

My father has been at Leawood Manor for 5 years, and it is an excellent care home. The staff are friendly, it is spotlessly clean and the food is excellent. They have an activities coordinator who works extremely hard to keep the residents happy and mobile.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone
looking for care for themselves or a loved one.
Reply from Hira Butt, Home Manager at Leawood ManorThank you for taking the time to leave such a wonderful review. We are truly grateful for your kind words and for the trust you have placed in Leawood Manor over the past five years. It means a great deal to hear that your father feels well cared for and that you have noticed the friendliness of our team, the cleanliness of the home, and the quality of the food we provide. Our staff work very hard to create a warm, welcoming environment for all residents, so your feedback is greatly appreciated. We are also delighted that you have recognised the dedication of our Activities Coordinator. Providing meaningful activities that keep residents engaged, happy and active is a very important part of life at Leawood Manor. Thank you again for your recommendation and for your continued support.

I looked at several care homes in the area and for me and my dad The Grange ticked all the boxes. As soon as you walk in you're greeted with a friendly, positive, homely atmosphere. It's clean, well maintained and has a lovely garden with seating at the rear.
The best bit about this home is the warm
and caring staff. They're great, amazing in fact. Nothing is ever too much trouble! They're always free for a chat and happy to update me about what dad has been up to. I visit regularly and whenever I do there are always carers interacting with residents which is lovely to see.
Oh and dinner always looks and smells great!
Lastly, my dad is happy. He always says to me "they're a good bunch here!" This obviously means a lot to me and my family.

The overall experience & atmosphere in the care home has improved dramatically since the current manager was installed.
The areas of treated with dignity & safety/security have in the past been very poor, but again this has improved & given a further period this review could improve further.
Time
taken to answer residents bell still needs improvement
Greatest asset here are management & staff who without their conduct/performance would impact my opinion.
Reply from Alin Cuciureanu, Home Manager at Brewster HouseIt is very encouraging to hear that the overall atmosphere and experience have improved and that you have seen positive changes in areas such as dignity, safety, and security for residents. The team is working hard to create a supportive, respectful environment, so it means a great deal to know their efforts are being recognised. We also appreciate your honest comments regarding response time for the call bell. This is an important area for us, and we are continuing to work with the team to improve responsiveness and ensure residents receive assistance as quickly as possible. Thank you! Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we remain committed to continuing to improve the quality of care and experience for all our residents and their families.

Kindness, care and consideration best describes this home. My wife, who is a resident here, cannot walk, talk or feed herself, has been treated with love and care by all staff members, and I have had no concern for her wellbeing from the time she entered the home. Good standards of cleanliness have
always been maintained by dedicated staff who work extremely hard, having to deal with all residents' requirements and needs. The home is recommended.

Would just like to thank all staff that looked after my brother Chris in the short stay he was with you. Thank you for looking after all the family when he passed away, your care and sympathy went a long way. We are just gutted we didn't get him into your care sooner as he would of loved being there.
Reply from Monica Dragu, Registered Manager at Alexandra HouseThank you so much for taking the time to share such kind words about our team. Mum has now been at Leawood Manor for 4 months. It has took a little while but she is now settling in and loves all the carers and staff there. Her health has improved a lot because of the care, good food and constant company she gets. There are plenty of activities, varied to suit all needs and Mum
really enjoys the trips out which are always great fun for her and a chance to meet other residents. We can not fault the standard of care and if we ever do have any feedback it is responded to quickly.

Mum has been a resident of Leawood Manor for nearly two years. Friends recommended it and we knew it had a good reputation. It wasn't a smooth introduction to Leawood as mum had a lot of health issues and took a while to fully settle.
Now, under the new manager, she seems so much happier and feels
very much at home. She loves her ground floor room and access to the garden, very much at the centre of activities. She is a supporter of the Ambassador system and feels that residents are listened to, along with the monthly meetings.
I too, appreciate the family meetings, the weekly emails and general accessibility of the staff. Resident of the day, after initial hiccups, has been an excellent idea. It was good to revisit mum's care plan recently which I hadn't seen since she moved in. The events programme has been good and is now easily accessible, so that relatives can support and encourage their loved ones. The introduction of a personal history for each resident is an excellent idea.
Reply from Hira Butt, Home Manager at Leawood ManorThank you for taking the time to share your review. We are so pleased to hear that your mum is now settled, happy and feels at home at Leawood Manor, especially enjoying her ground floor room and access to the garden. It's lovely to hear that she feels listened to through the Ambassador system and resident meetings. We also appreciate your kind feedback about the family meetings, weekly updates, Resident of the Day, the activities programme, and the personal history profiles. My mum Joyce has just turned 93, she has been in Alexandra Care Home nearly 2 years. She has received superb care from Cristina and her colleagues from day one. They have catered for her changing dementia condition over time and given her family peace of mind knowing she is being looked after. I would
highly recommend this care home.
Reply from Monica Dragu, Registered Manager at Alexandra HouseThank you for taking the time to share such a wonderful review of Alexandra Care Home.
We are truly delighted to hear that your mum, Joyce, has had such a positive experience with us over the past two years. It means a great deal to know that the team have been able to support Joyce as her needs have changed and to provide the reassurance and peace of mind that families deserve.
Your kind words about the care, dignity and support provided to your mum will be shared with all of the team, who work hard every day to ensure our residents feel safe, comfortable and valued.

Our mum Jean arrived at Tallis House on the 21st November 2025, after a time in hospital and remained there until February 2026.
All members of staff were amazing and very caring and our mum enjoyed her stay there immensely. As a family we were so impressed with the standard of care and the cleaniness
of the home.
Nothing was too much trouble and when changes were made to mums medication it was dealt with immediately.
Mum was always clean and well presented and all her needs were met.
We got to know everyone there, staff, residents and residents family and it felt like being part of a bigger family.
It was a very relaxed atmosphere and we enjoyed our visits sitting in the cafe with endless supply of tea, coffee, biscuits and cakes. We were always made to feel very welcome.
We are going to miss everyone but we will be taking mum back for visits which we are looking forward to.
We can not thank the team at Tallis House enough. You are all first class and deserve our 5 star rating.

Very good. Staff very helpful and caring. Liberty House very clean and friendly environment. Couldn't have picked a better care home for my husband to be in.
