Alexandra House

My grandad has been in Alexandra House for around 6 months. So far everything has been great. The staff are brilliant and treat my grandad as though he is family. The safety/security is very good apart from the front entrance as quite a lot of visitors don't close the door properly. Everyone has been very caring as when my grandad is confused or worried they contact us to put him at ease.

My dad has been a resident in Alexandra House for two and a half years now, At first, the staff had to work very hard to settle him but through their dedication and professionalism, he settled. Dad likes the routine and always heartily eats the meals provided, I feel he is in a safe environment. The new manager and the staff are always ready to listen and welcome suggestions.

Since covid things have improved. Information is now regularly updated via email. GP and outside agencies could be better.

My mother had been a resident for just over 4 years and died in July 2022. The care, help and kindness of all the staff will be remembered with thanks by the whole family.

Very pleased with the care my mother is receiving. She is on the second floor of Alexandra House. She looks clean and tidy and the place is spotlessly clean. All the staff are friendly and helpful.

My mum was admitted into this very clean, nice and friendly, professional care home. My mum was so happy and everyone loved her.

Dad was very poorly before going into Alexandra House. He, we think, was going up. Dad had many falls at home. The last fall was a bad one and he was taken into hospital where it was discovered he is having mini seizures. I am so delighted and relieved to say that my dear Dad has settled into his new home. What's more, he tells me he doesn't want to go home. Thank you to the manager and all the staff for making Dad so welcome.

Over the last few years, life has been very difficult until we moved my mother into Alexandra House. She's not been happier. She's no longer aggressive and is extremely settled. They stimulate her with music and social events, which suits my mother very well. The staff are attentive and very caring. Wonderful people.

I think the care of my mother is great. All the staff are so caring and gentle. They treat her so well. All the staff are helpful to us as family.

In light of the challenges faced due to covid, the home has maintained its excellent standards. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. No request seems too much and relatives are made to feel as valuable as the residents in care. The home has exceeded expectations in terms of managing relative visits and the care is always dignified. Appears clean and tidy whenever I visit. Great job team!

After a very difficult year, losing our Mum at the home in July and then our Dad being rushed to hospital in November 2021. We as a family cannot thank the marvellous staff at Alexandra House enough for their love, empathy, and support. Staff go above their daily requirements to meet not only their residents' needs but also family members' too. They are total unsung heroes of this pandemic. And are our Angels.

The staff are so kind to my mother. They are cheerful and helpful and greet her by name whenever they see her. The staff who I meet, including desk and covid testing, are always polite, cheerful, and ready to help in any way they can.

This was my first visit to see my sister. I was very happy with her room, which is so comfortable. The garden is very well tendered, which is lovely for the residents. The staff I met were very friendly, happy and helpful. I came away knowing my sister is well cared for.

When I arrived I had to have a test, then wait 30 minutes (not a problem). Had to wait in my car. When I returned the lady who did my test had to go to a meeting: I just walk in and they had trouble finding my test results. There seemed to be no procedure! Once in the corridor smelt of wee.

It's really hard to get a proper feel for the care home due to COVID and the room isolated visits but so far the people have been really friendly and the rooms are clean. I can also call anytime if concerned and get feedback. So far I'm happy with the care I've seen.

All the staff I have come in contact with have always been cheerful, friendly and very helpful. They always make you feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble for them. I also like the fact that I get a phone call every week giving me an update letting me know how my wife is doing. I thank all the staff for looking after my wife, I know it's not an easy job. Thank you all.

The staff are very friendly on arrival, follow the COVID protocol. My Grandad seems to be happy. Staff come in to say hello and have a joke. Rooms are kept clean and tidy.

A lovely experience, all the staff so helpful and smiley, so good with Mum, they know her so well and I have got to know all the staff and can ask anything of them. They all work so hard and it's a pleasure to come into Alexandra House and always have a great welcome.

After making a very hard decision to put mum into a nursing home, it was the best decision myself and family made. She was so very happy there, all her whims were catered for. Just a shame covid was here because she missed out on many activities and visits from many friends and relatives. Everybody was kind, considerate, I can't praise Alexandra House enough. Thanking you all from my heart.
