The staff are so kind to my mother. They are cheerful and helpful and greet her by name whenever they see her. The staff who I meet, including desk and covid testing, are always polite, cheerful, and ready to help in any way they can.

This was my first visit to see my sister. I was very happy with her room, which is so comfortable. The garden is very well tendered, which is lovely for the residents. The staff I met were very friendly, happy and helpful. I came away knowing my sister is well cared for.

When I arrived I had to have a test, then wait 30 minutes (not a problem). Had to wait in my car. When I returned the lady who did my test had to go to a meeting: I just walk in and they had trouble finding my test results. There seemed to be no procedure! Once in the corridor smelt of wee.

It's really hard to get a proper feel for the care home due to COVID and the room isolated visits but so far the people have been really friendly and the rooms are clean. I can also call anytime if concerned and get feedback. So far I'm happy with the care I've seen.

All the staff I have come in contact with have always been cheerful, friendly and very helpful. They always make you feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble for them. I also like the fact that I get a phone call every week giving me an update letting me know how my wife is doing. I thank all the staff for looking after my wife, I know it's not an easy job. Thank you all.

After making a very hard decision to put mum into a nursing home, it was the best decision myself and family made. She was so very happy there, all her whims were catered for. Just a shame covid was here because she missed out on many activities and visits from many friends and relatives. Everybody was kind, considerate, I can't praise Alexandra House enough. Thanking you all from my heart.

Our Mum had Alzheimer's and became very ill as was refusing care at home. Eventually, in August 2020, we made the difficult decision to admit Mum to Alexandra House, Cherry Unit. This was the best thing we did for Mum. The care and support that she received were outstanding. The staff kept us at the forefront of Mum's care, informing us of any changes in Mum's condition or care needs. They always appeared happy to speak to us, even when we were phoning daily. During covid-19 visiting restrictions, the staff were extremely helpful in facilitating FaceTime and window visits with Mum. Mum had hearing problems, and they would sit with her patiently during visits in order that they could explain who we were and tell her what we were saying. Without which, we would not have been able to communicate with Mum. Mum sadly passed away on 19/12/20, but during the period of Mum receiving palliative care, the staff went out both their way to support us as a family during this difficult time. We feel very fortunate that Mum spent her last months withing a warm, caring and loving environment, in the care of truly professional staff.

I feel very lucky my father is in such a wonderful home. This year have been so challenging, but having the relief of knowing my dad is being looked after to the level he is - it's such a relief. The staff are so welcoming and caring; they always know what he needs without him being able to communicate. The home is clean and modern. I'm always kept up to date - couldn't be happier.

The level of care during the day and the attention of the staff is first class. There are some incredible people working there who truly do care for the residents. My father-in-law was a resident there until he passed away and now my mother is there and I have seen first hand for some time how good some of these carers are.

The staff and nurses at Alexandra House have treated my mother exceptionally well. She is comfortable, content and really feels cared for. She recently has a stint in the hospital, where she was miserable and neglected. The moment she returned to the home, she perked up and asked for ' a cup of tea'! Her health had steadily improved since.

Staff are also fantastic at listening to the family. They generally care and keep us informed.

Staff and management excellent.

Very obliging and will sort any problems swiftly if necessary. My friend is currently bed-bound so is not using many facilities or the activities but they appear to be very good.

First and foremost all of the staff are friendly and will always assist any questions if they are able to. Nothing is too much trouble. My mother has been resident for about a year now and has a far better care and activity than she did at home. My father came in for respite in December but unfortunately, he has been given permanent placement due to a stroke and dementia. It appears that the home is always being decorated which is first class. Furniture, kitchens and flooring also being updated and room furniture. This is impressive as the old furniture is in good condition.

Monica DraguJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2025

My journey in care began in 2009, when I started working as a Care Assistant at Runwood Homes – Alexandra House. In February 2010, I proudly achieved my registration as a qualified Registered General Nurse and continued to work at Alexandra House until 2012.

Since then, my career has taken me on a rewarding path into management, where I’ve held a variety of leadership roles within the care sector. Wanting to continue developing my skills and leadership abilities, I completed a Level 5 Diploma in Business Management and the My Home Life programme, alongside several other management trainings that have helped shape the way I lead and support my teams.

In 2025, I was delighted to return to Runwood Homes – Alexandra House as a Registered Manager. It feels like coming home to where my passion for care first began, and I’m committed to making a difference by maintaining the high standards and quality of care that inspired me at the very start of my journey.
