Anchor’s award-winning care home, The Manor House Roundhay in Leeds, has celebrated its anniversary in style with a dazzling Great Gatsby-themed celebration.
The care home transformed into a glittering 1920s spectacle to mark twelve months since it first opened its doors in October 2024. Residents, guests, and colleagues dressed up in their finest dresses and sharpest suits as they stepped onto the red carpet for an afternoon of Jazz Age glamour.
The celebration featured live entertainment from a singer and saxophonist, champagne toasts, cocktails, canapés, and a delicious buffet. Residents and guests also enjoyed speeches reflecting on the home's remarkable first year. The event also raised over £500 for St Gemma's Hospice through the sale of knitted pumpkins handmade by the residents themselves.
Since opening its doors last year, The Manor House Roundhay has celebrated many highlights, including hosting a Strictly dancing competition and winning Luxury Care Home of the Year at Knight Frank's prestigious Luxury Care Home Awards 2026.
Fred, resident at The Manor House Roundhay, said: “The team at The Manor House Roundhay always go above and beyond to make every day meaningful - whether it’s a small gesture or a big celebration like this one. It really does feel like home.”
Clare Erskine, Home Manager at The Manor House Roundhay, said: “It’s been an incredible first year, and I’m so proud of everything our residents and colleagues have achieved together. This celebration was a wonderful way to reflect on how far we’ve come - and to look ahead to all the memories still to make!”
