What a pleasure it is to visit my friend at The Manor House. I am always made welcome and the staff are so friendly. The home is stunning and the grounds are outstanding. My friend is very happy living here and her daughters have peace of mind that she is well cared for.

My friend moved into The Manor House in November 2024 when it first opened. We were impressed then and now a year later we are still impressed. The building and the individual rooms are really well maintained. Everything is as clean and tidy and beautiful as it was when it first opened. The impression
was and still is more of a 5 star hotel than a care home. The staff team has obviously increased in size as more residents have moved in through the year, but nearly all of the original members of staff are still there and that continuity reflects in the care that is provided as residents really are treated like family. No excuse for a party or a celebration is missed (especially ones that involve dressing up to the max!) and this is in addition to the regular programme of activities that you would expect to be available. If you need to move into a care home, The Manor House in Roundhay is the place to be.
Reply from Clare Erskine, Home Manager at The Manor House Roundhay Care HomePlease can I extend the biggest thank you for such a fabulous review of our care home, we do indeed have the pleasure of caring for our residents in the most luxurious surroundings. We are not sure where the year has gone! But we all still remain very proud of our amazing residents and our beautiful home, and as you rightly say our growing but fabulous team. We are very lucky to have such a committed and dedicated staff team who are so exceptionally kind and caring. The housekeeping team go above and beyond and share the same pride and passion for keeping the home looking beautiful and fresh each and every day. We know that we are here to make the best of memories and opening our doors wide to invite our families, friends and community to join in our fabulous events is such an honour and pleasure. We are now looking forward to year 2 and the making of more special memories. Thank you so much for your wonderful comments and I will ensure to share with the staff team.

Nearly 6 months have now passed and sending my mother into a care home was a grim prospect for me and family. We all knew that this was the right decision for her and now having spent nearly 6 months we can only credit all the staff for their hard work, care and love they give to my mother. I know she
struggles with her condition ( Alzheimer's ) but i can rest in comfort knowing she is the right and best care that can be given for her. Well done The Manor House especially to Ahmad , Abigail , Sam , Sharma, Donna , Clare ( manager) and not forgetting the barista !! And all other staff that i have not mentioned. Great work guys
Reply from Clare Erskine, Home Manager at The Manor House Roundhay Care HomePlease may I express my delight at such a wonderful review of our home and staff. We know that families face difficult decisions when deciding to take the steps to support loved ones to move into a care home. Our dedicated team try hard to help our residents feel cared about and safe. Mum is a wonderful lady, our team have spent a lot of time with her and she has really settled well into her new home. We have the biggest giggles and laughs with mum as she is so engaging and is such fun to be around. It is with great pleasure we can say she is often very happy at The Manor House. It's wonderful to see her blossoming and really enjoying everything, making new friends and joining in the variety of activities. We are equally very happy that the family feel reassured that a move for mum to come to us was the right one. Once again, thank you for your review as we are really proud of our dementia care support and your review is testimony to that. I will share your comments with the team.

A few months ago we had the very difficult task of having to put mum into a care home. She's got dementia and her health declined after a fall. We made an appointment to view the home and we fell in love with it straight away. The Manor House is a beautiful place. Mum has a lovely spacious room. There's
a lovely cafe bar where residents and family and friends can socialise and other beautiful social spaces.
All the staff from management, catering staff, reception, carers and housekeeping are wonderful. They're all so kind and caring to mum.
Mum has settled in really well which was such a relief for us.
There's always a variety of activities going on such as board games, quizzes, musicians, singers, drawing, crafts etc. Although mum is a bit limited in what she can do she is always encouraged to join in
Although it felt sad for mum to go into a care home we couldn't be happier where she is and most importantly she's happy and settled. Thank you to all the staff at The Manor House.
Reply from Clare Erskine, Home Manager at The Manor House Roundhay Care HomeThank you so much for your fabulous review of our beautiful care home, the home is indeed luxurious, but we always strive to match this with our compassionate and kind care. Your lovely Mum has settled so well with us, and she is such a delightful lady to care and support and we cannot thank you enough for trusting us to care for her. We know how important it is to have lots of therapeutic activities and our activity co-ordinator goes above and beyond in making sure that inclusivity is championed throughout the entire home. We appreciate everyone is unique and special and its fair to say the staff strive to make sure the residents feel respected and very much cared about. Once again thank you so much for taking the time to review our lovely home and I will ensure to share your beautiful compliments with the staff team.

My mother in law has been at The Manor House for 6 months now. The home is like a 5 star hotel. The decor beautiful and the staff are kind and caring and everything is always immaculately clean. My MIL has a lovely room and she's settled in well. There are always various activities going on and everyone
no matter what their abilities are encouraged to join in. There's also lots of amazing parties, events and celebrations which have been so enjoyable and great for family and friends to come along too. The chefs also do a fantastic job. The meals provided always look delicious and very appetising with lots of variety. There is also a lovely cafe/bar where residents and family and friends can socialise.
Reply from Clare Erskine, Home Manager at The Manor House Roundhay Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to write such a wonderful review of our home. Your MIL has settled so well into our beautiful home and as you say is able to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and the variety of activities within the home. Its lovely you mention the teams within the home as all the departments really have a genuine wish to make the home feel warm and welcoming. We also appreciate your comments regarding our parties and have to say the residents, families and the staff have enjoyed some fabulous events. Making special memories is what we very much value and it's so nice to read such wonderful compliments and I will ensure to share with the home team.

The Manor House Roundhay is a beautiful place, with an incredible team caring for residents at its heart.
My mum has a fabulous, spacious room with a patio. The rooms are cleverly designed, to be elegant and not institutional yet with an abundance of storage space. We have found a place for everything
Mum brought, which was quite a lot!
Mum is looked after expertly, treated with respect and nourished body and mind. I look forward to my visits and finding out what mum, her friends and the interesting, interested team have been up to.
The 'At Home' party we had to welcome Mum to Leeds held in the private dining room deserves a special mention. It was planned thoughtfully with Mum, from the layout of the room and the excellent buffet, to a member of the team being there throughout the evening to make sure everything went smoothly. It most definitely did and our guests had a brilliant evening.
Here's to more good times ahead.
Reply from Clare Erskine, Home Manager at The Manor House Roundhay Care HomeThank you so much for spending the time to write a review for us, we really appreciate your fabulous comments of our beautiful home and mum's fantastic room. Mum has really settled well with us and its such a pleasure to see how much she enjoys her daily life with us. She has soon become a very big part of the Manor House Roundhay family and it's a delight to see her flourish and thrive along with her engagement with everything and everyone in the home. She did enjoy the party within the home in the "private dining suite" and to see her sparkly personality as she joined in with friends and family was pure delight. I know mum still talks about this event and these are what special memories are really made of. Thank you so much for choosing our home and for the honour of caring for your gorgeous mum. I will ensure that I share your fabulous comments with our home team.

My mum had a brief but truly memorable stay at Manor House, and we couldn't be more grateful for the care she received. The facilities, food, and activities were of an exceptional standard, all set within beautiful and peaceful surroundings that made her feel relaxed and at home.
However, what really
set Manor House apart for us was the staff. Their kindness, compassion, and attention to detail were extraordinary. They couldn't do enough for their guests, and it was clear that every member of the team genuinely cared. Knowing that Mum was treated with such warmth, dignity, and respect brings us great comfort.
Even after her stay, the thoughtful communication and care shown by the team-especially in looking after her belongings-was deeply appreciated. It's rare to find such a combination of professionalism and heartfelt compassion.
We will always remember Manor House fondly and are thankful for the comfort and joy it brought to Mum during her time there.

My mum came to Manor, albeit reluctantly in December 2024 and from the day she arrived at this beautiful 5 star home I have nothing but praise for the AMAZING care and patience and love they have shown to my lovely mum. The staff, all of them are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble from dietary
or religious needs to always offering us a nice cuppa when we come. As time has gone on mums needs have become more intense and the staff have stepped up to the extra care required with a compassion that you would only think family would give. Me and my siblings and all our family are so grateful that we know mum is getting the best possible care we could want in her twilight days and the bonus is - it's in the most beautiful surroundings and atmosphere. I cannot praise it highly enough - we are very lucky and fortunate . Thank you Clare and all the wonderful team.

Mum came into Manor House almost ten months ago, at first just for respite. We immediately saw how much safer Mum was and the kindness shown with such attentive and genuine care was way above what we ever expected. The home decor and gardens are without doubt beautiful but the most valuable part of
Manor House Home is the wonderful care all the residents enjoy. Recently Mum's health has started to deteriorate but we were immediately reassured Mum will have all that is needed to keep her comfortable and safe. We feel very fortunate to know our Mum is so very content and so well cared for, thanks to the exceptional carers.

Although moving into a Care Home was not what either Mum or I wanted to happen, we knew it was going to be the safer option for her.
Moving Mum to The Manor, Roundhay means she is in a safe environment where she is well looked after and safe, meaning we can enjoy quality time together as mother & daughter
when I visit. She is very well cared for and enjoys the food, it's lovely for me also to be able to join her occasionally for a meal so we can eat together as we always did. There is always a cup of tea for us when I go to visit.
There is a varied programme of activities led by the coordinator Ahmad with other volunteers assisting. Initially mum was quite hesitant to join in, but with their gentle encouragement and assistance she has actually enjoyed joining in some activities, enabling her to meet some of the other residents too. There is a varied weekly timetable including board games, exercises sessions, quizzes, visiting musicians and even a visit from lama's this week.
Reply from Clare Erskine, Home Manager at The Manor House Roundhay Care HomeThank you so much for such a beautiful review of our care home and we are thrilled to hear that you feel mum is well cared for and happy with us. Your mum is a wonderful, kind, and gentle lady who despite her initial apprehension of moving into a care home has settled in so well. We are honestly over the moon that you feel happy and content with everything too, as we understand that our care very much extends to family and friends. Ahmad our gorgeous activity co-ordinator has spent a lot of time with mum, and she is slowly building confidence in joining activities. It's fantastic to see her very engaged, happy, and enjoying all the varied activities we have going on in the home. Once again, we so appreciate your time in leaving such a fabulous review for us and I will ensure to share with our staff team.

The manager, a heartfelt thank you to you and your amazing team at The Manor House, Roundhay. Moving Mum at 100 wasn't easy, but from the moment she arrived, we knew she was in safe hands. Her mood lifted almost instantly, and your thoughtful photo the next day really reassured us.
Her room is bright
and spacious with a gorgeous garden view, and the whole home has a warm, welcoming feel. Every staff member is friendly and nothing's too much trouble. Special mention to Abby at reception, her cheerful smile always lights up the day. The food looks fantastic, and the dining room could rival any hotel. It's a joy to visit.

The Manager and all her staff have been so welcoming and kind. When we decided to move my very elderly mother to Roundhay Manor I had some reservation because of her age and condition! How wrong was I! She settled in immediately. Since moving she's had her hair, nails and a pedicure done. The kindness
of the staff is second to none, thank you.
Ps they also have a bar and mums favourite tipple is a Baileys!!!

I'd like to leave comments relating to a time that none of us want to experience but will, nonetheless, happen one day.

As my mum (the first resident of this wonderful care home) was approaching the end of her life, the amazing staff at The Manor House Roundhay not only wanted to care for my mum

but actively helped me in obtaining her release from the NHS hospital where she was quite frankly just being left to die.

The end of life care that the staff carried out was second to none and way above the call of duty. Restoring her dignity, making her supremely comfortable, ensuring there was always someone by her side throughout the night, they were simply amazing. They even ensured she had her favourite lipstick on as the end approached.

They were wonderful with me keeping me informed and after she passed they dealt with me in an empathetic and a 100% cooperative manner.

And when she left for the last time, there was a guard of honour by all the staff and residents.

First class

Reply from Sharna Neal, Deputy Home Manager at The Manor House Roundhay Care HomeFrom the bottom of our hearts here at The Manor House Roundhay, thank you for such kind words. In our profession we meet many people, whom we love like our own family. From their first day to their last we want it to be a special heartfelt experience, which is why when we were told your mum was on her end of life journey the only thing to do was get her home, where she belonged. It was not only mine, but my teams privilege to give her the send of she most truly deserved. It never gets easier saying goodbye to our residents, and a hole is left within the home. Thank you for choosing us to care for your mum, I know it was not an easy decision for you to make in the beginning but it was one your mum, our Val, truly loved.

Mum has been at the Manor House since the end of February. Whilst she would prefer still to be at home, that isn't possible now and this is absolutely the best alternative for her. It's a new build, so the facilities are excellent but what is much more important is the amazing staff. Everyone is so
kind and caring - nothing is too much trouble, and mum is treated with care and dignity. It has a lovely atmosphere with the staff and residents often having fun together. I'd recommend this home to anyone.

Knowing that mum is receiving such compassionate and attentive support at the Manor has truly brought us peace of mind. It's been six months and mum absolutely loves living there.
The Manor is not only clean and beautifully decorated, but the care and facilities are also outstanding. My mum has always
taken pride in her appearance, but as she has become more frail this has become more challenging for her. Thankfully, the team at the Chester Suite is exceptional; they always ensure her hair is done and that she is well-dressed.
The staff are brilliant at keeping her engaged with the wonderful activities available, and they are consistently friendly, caring, and professional. We, as a family, are always kept well informed about any medical updates or concerns, and they are always available to address any questions we may have. Whenever I bring others to visit they are initially taken aback by the stunning building, but even more so by the remarkable care and support my mum receives.

The Manor House Roundhay has risen the bar and set the standard!
Set in beautiful surroundings, the interior offers gorgeous accommodation with comfort a number one priority. It is very much a residential home of exceptionally high standard.
While this is all important, it's the care that stands
out. Under the manager's management her team offer the highest standard of care and compassion.
Great care has been taken with Mum, who was frail and anxious leading up to her move to Manor House. We needn't have worried, she was welcomed and cared for and settled in with great attention, and in a short time has come on in leaps and bounds.
The staff are lovely, friendly, professional and hugely caring to both residents and their families. We were made to feel more than welcome. Nothing is too much trouble.
It's a huge decision to place a parent into care, but we are happy and relieved Mum now has a beautiful happy home to call her own.
Reply from Clare Erskine, Home Manager at The Manor House Roundhay Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to submit such a beautiful review of The Manor House Roundhay. We are very proud to have a gorgeous care home and love to witness how all of our residents enjoy the fabulous environment we have here. We are passionate about making sure every single resident choosing to call The Manor House their home feels treasured. Your mum is a fabulous lady and although moving from another care home, she has settled into a brand-new environment with ease. I am sure she must have felt nervous, we also appreciate this was a very big decision for family, however how wonderful to know you are so happy. This means the world to us, and I would say that we are the lucky ones to have such a wonderful lady as mum come to join us. Your mum's sense of humour has us chuckling many times during the day! I will share your comments with whole the team, I know they will be touched by your lovely words. Once again thank you for taking the time to write a review.

It's lovely; light, airy, happy vibe, kind staff, very clean and new, and the food's great; beautiful building and a great view over roundhay park... what's not to love. I'd happily move in and curl up on one of the sofas with a book myself for the next year or so! My parents-in-law are treated like
royalty; that are very happy staying at The Manor House.
Reply from Clare Erskine, Home Manager at The Manor House Roundhay Care HomeThank you very much for taking the time to review our lovely home and for your fantastic feedback about both our beautiful environment but also our happy atmosphere. Your parents in law are delightful people and we are so lucky that they have come to join us at the Manor House Roundhay. They have settled so well with us and its a pleasure to care and support them both. They are certainly living life to the full and enjoying the all the facilities, the care support, but most of all the wonderful activities. Watching them dance together in the caf bar during live entertainment is a wonderful sight and their joy and happiness is fantastic to witness. We are delighted that they are settled, content and seem to be having a fabulous time with us. Once again thank you for your lovely review which I will ensure to share with the home team.

  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 36 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.995 for The Manor House Roundhay Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (423 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 425 Ratings = 4.995
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Manor House Roundhay Care Home is based on 36 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 65 registered maximum number of service users is 13, which has been reached with 36 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
