The staff are more than helpful, polite and caring, enabling my Father in Law to settle in easily. The home itself is fabulous with beautiful gardens in the heart of Roundhay.

I was a resident here here for six weeks recovering on respite. What a great experience. I didn't feelI didn't feel like I was in a care home. The staff was caring kind. and entertainment was also great it was great to take my mind off things and keep me busy during the day.

As mum and dad are so very close, we knew that having to spend time apart was going to so hard for them both. However, we were ready with lots of gentle loving care to support dad during this worrying time for him, keeping him reassured and giving lots of comfort. The day mum came back to us and seeing dad's reaction to her return was honestly one of the most heartfelt moments, it brought a tear to all our eyes. It is so wonderful having mum and dad live with us, as how special and fantastic to be part of their lives. My husband did not want to go into respite care but agreed to try The Manor. We were concerned that it may be "sparkle without substance" but that's not the case. We saw many happy faces, residents and staff, on our visits and I realised it was my best chance of finding a carehome for my husband. Within hours of his arrival, I felt sure he would be well looked after and may even enjoy the experience. 2 days later he had a "meltdown" becoming angry and shouting at staff. He was upset because he thought I wasn't going to take his dog to visit him. When the Floor Supervisor rang me at his insistence, I went straight there (15 minutes) and found him in his room holding the hand of the Supervisor and calmly talking about future stays which he looks forward to! It is true professionalism and honest caring on the part of everyone involved that he came out of that feeling positive. The staff are bright, supportive and kind and I thank them and look forward to more stays on 2nd floor soon.

However, our focus is very much on the care and support of the wonderful people who come and stay with us and ensuring their loved ones feel confident with our care too. Your husband is a lovely gentleman and from the day one, the home team gently reassured and he soon settled within a new home environment. We totally understand that moving away from home can be difficult adjustment and we are fully ready at these times to offer reassurance and support. Thank you so much for your special mention of our unit lead who offered comfort, as a team we pride ourselves in genuine warm care and kindness and your recognition of this is amazing. I cannot thank Claire and all the team at the Manor House enough for the loving care and support given to our mum. It was a difficult decision to move mum into a care home, but she could no longer stay at home after a bad fall. Mum is soo well looked after by all at the Manor House, and she has settled in really well. The home is beautiful and all the facilities are exceptional. The team put soo much care and effort into including all residents in their activities and events. We have enjoyed many events at the Manor House, including their Summer fair, the Paws and Applause Dog Show, the Gatsby event and this weekend, their Xmas party. They do soo much to keep mum and all the residents entertained. Mum has dementia and it's not easy to communicate with her, but the care given to mum is outstanding. It's alway a pleasure to visit, keep doing what you're doing guys. Thank you soo much.

We appreciate that moving into a new home can be unsettling but we are always here to walk hand in hand and ensure that everyone feels safe and very much cared about. Promoting everyone to be engaged and enjoying daily activities in accordance with personal wishes and preferences is a key priority for all the team. We do indeed have a very varied activity schedule along with some fantastic entertaining environments that lends itself so well to hosting the most magnificent and wonderful events that we have! My friend moved into The Manor House in November 2024 when it first opened. We were impressed then and now a year later we are still impressed. The building and the individual rooms are really well maintained. Everything is as clean and tidy and beautiful as it was when it first opened. The impression was and still is more of a 5 star hotel than a care home. The staff team has obviously increased in size as more residents have moved in through the year, but nearly all of the original members of staff are still there and that continuity reflects in the care that is provided as residents really are treated like family. No excuse for a party or a celebration is missed (especially ones that involve dressing up to the max!) and this is in addition to the regular programme of activities that you would expect to be available. If you need to move into a care home, The Manor House in Roundhay is the place to be.

Please can I extend the biggest thank you for such a fabulous review of our care home, we do indeed have the pleasure of caring for our residents in the most luxurious surroundings. We are not sure where the year has gone! But we all still remain very proud of our amazing residents and our beautiful home, and as you rightly say our growing but fabulous team. We are very lucky to have such a committed and dedicated staff team who are so exceptionally kind and caring. The housekeeping team go above and beyond and share the same pride and passion for keeping the home looking beautiful and fresh each and every day. We know that we are here to make the best of memories and opening our doors wide to invite our families, friends and community to join in our fabulous events is such an honour and pleasure. I know she struggles with her condition ( Alzheimer's ) but i can rest in comfort knowing she is the right and best care that can be given for her. We know that families face difficult decisions when deciding to take the steps to support loved ones to move into a care home. Our dedicated team try hard to help our residents feel cared about and safe. Mum is a wonderful lady, our team have spent a lot of time with her and she has really settled well into her new home. We have the biggest giggles and laughs with mum as she is so engaging and is such fun to be around. It is with great pleasure we can say she is often very happy at The Manor House. It's wonderful to see her blossoming and really enjoying everything, making new friends and joining in the variety of activities. We are equally very happy that the family feel reassured that a move for mum to come to us was the right one. A few months ago we had the very difficult task of having to put mum into a care home. She's got dementia and her health declined after a fall. We made an appointment to view the home and we fell in love with it straight away. The Manor House is a beautiful place. Mum has a lovely spacious room....

My mother in law has been at The Manor House for 6 months now. The home is like a 5 star hotel. The decor beautiful and the staff are kind and caring and everything is always immaculately clean. My MIL has a lovely room and she's settled in well. There are always various activities going on and everyone no matter what their abilities are encouraged to join in. There's also lots of amazing parties, events and celebrations which have been so enjoyable and great for family and friends to come along too. The chefs also do a fantastic job. The meals provided always look delicious and very appetising with lots of variety. There is also a lovely cafe/bar where residents and family and friends can socialise.

Before coming to us at The Manor House Roundhay, Sharna took on the dementia lead position as her work with dementia is something she is incredibly passionate about and wants to raise awareness and erase the stigma surrounding the condition.

Howard is a seasoned professional with a rich and diverse background in the culinary world! With 30 years of experience under his belt, including 7 years specifically in the care industry, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role. Howard's speciality lies in cooking Indian cuisine, furthermore, he enjoys creating dishes inspired by Greece and Italy.
Outside of the kitchen, Howard loves spending time with his dog, watching rugby union, and travelling with his wife.
