The Manor House Roundhay Care Home

from Simon C (Son of Resident) published on 6 November 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mum had a brief but truly memorable stay at Manor House, and we couldn't be more grateful for the care she received. The facilities, food, and activities were of an exceptional standard, all set within beautiful and peaceful surroundings that made her feel relaxed and at home.
However, what really
set Manor House apart for us was the staff. Their kindness, compassion, and attention to detail were extraordinary. They couldn't do enough for their guests, and it was clear that every member of the team genuinely cared. Knowing that Mum was treated with such warmth, dignity, and respect brings us great comfort.
Even after her stay, the thoughtful communication and care shown by the team-especially in looking after her belongings-was deeply appreciated. It's rare to find such a combination of professionalism and heartfelt compassion.
We will always remember Manor House fondly and are thankful for the comfort and joy it brought to Mum during her time there.

I would like to thank ALL the staff at Elizabeth Court for all the wonderful care and attention that they give to my dear mum.
It is not easy making the decision to go into care, but everyone at Elizabeth Court has given a wonderful welcome and support of care in every way to mum and my sister, and
I.

Wellington Lodge is friendly, clean and lots to do. The staff are really lovely nothing is too much trouble. My sister really liked it. I live 6 doors from a care home which would have been easy for me. It took me 3 buses to get there but was worth it. She didn't want to move anywhere else, only at
Wellington Lodge.

I would like to say a big thank you to all the management and staff at Elizabeth Court. Visiting a neighbour, I was so impressed with the level of caring and effort that goes into making sure the residents are happy. After my neighbour being unsure about moving into a care home, it was so nice to see
her with a big smile.

It is never an easy decision to decide that an ageing parent needs to go into residential care. Mu was really struggling on her own, and she made it easier for us by accepting that she could no longer manage alone. In the three years she has been living at The Beeches, I can honestly say that I have
never once doubted that she is in the right place. The staff are wonderful - treating mum with respect, care and empathy. She is so well cared for, always clean, and comfortable. Thank you everyone at The Beeches.

Bethune Court

Our mum arrived at Bethune Court in February 2025, after a 20 week spell in hospital. Whilst in hospital, Mum had food, medication and was basically left either in bed or on her chair. She was not thriving at all! (Very little interaction!) When Mum arrived at the home, everything changed, and even
though it was very difficult for her to adapt at first, through the patience, kindness and 100% support of all the staff here, we feel we have got our mum back!!
She is thriving and happy (even if she does not show it!!) xxx

There is such a friendly atmosphere at Orchard Gardens wth kind and supportive staff who go above and beyond to make residents feel comfortable and happy. There are lots of activities for the residents to participate in and my mother often has her hair and nails done.

I highly recommend Widnes Hall Care Home. I have nothing but praise for all of the staff for their hard work, dedication to the job and especially for the loving care of my mum. The atmosphere in the home is wonderful, and it is very well kept, clean, bright and welcoming. The staff are diligent in
their care of the residents and they form positive relationships, treating everyone with patience, respect and kindness no matter what. They show compassion not only to the resident but the family members too.

My neighbour has been at The Cedars for a few weeks now. She is settling in and getting to know the staff and residents. There is plenty of room for the various activities that are provided and that she is enjoying too. All the staff are helpful, supportive and go out of their way to help in any way.
Thank you to all of them for their dedication to the care and provision of the residents.

My mother's experience at St Anne's Care Home was exemplary. Josie stayed for an initial week as respite. My initial contact and introduction was with a lady called Sharon. She was brilliant, very welcoming, informative and pulled all the strings to make everything so very easy. Josie was greeted upon
her arrival but management and members of staff. A very nice way to start her experience. The room and her meals were very good, and entertainment was twice a day, which she thoroughly enjoyed. The staff were all polite, smart and just lovely. Many, many thanks to you all. A five star experience. Josie hopes to see you all again soon.

I cannot express in words good enough how wonderful Selkirk House is. It's clean, staff are friendly and very caring. They cannot do enough for you. Food is excellent. The rooms are very comfortable with everything to be 'home from home'.
The activities are interesting and popular with quizzes, crafts
and guest speakers and singers to name a few.

Over the past 2 months the changes of improvement have been dynamic, I have always held your employees in high regards for the way they have treated my mother, but the agency staff were not of the standard they should of been and also my mother had a number of bottles of high end perfume stolen, over
£100 per bottle bought by myself, this was reported. The overall of your management was a much required problem, the management and cook are at high standard at last. Many thanks.
