My husband became a resident of Sandholme Fold Care Home, Hipperholme, Halifax in early 2026. He has settled in well, enjoys being there and is happy and contented. I have also been well supported during a time of great emotional upheaval. The staff are kind, conscientious, friendly and welcoming.
Activities are varied, there's always something going on and its usually accompanied by lots of laughter. Relatives and friends are welcome to visit at any time within reasonable guidelines.
The home itself is clean, warm and comfortable and I am very grateful that there was availability when I needed it. I have no hesitation in recommending this Care Home.

My mother was warmly welcomed into Widnes Hall on 12th January. She was so well looked after on the first day and this has continued. Before Mum could take up her placement, we needed to purchase special equipment. This caused a delay, but throughout that time (just over 3 weeks, and over the Christmas
period) the home kept in regular contact with both Mum and myself. I can't thank the staff enough and I look forward to the future going forward.

My father lived at the court for the last 33 months of his life. The staff that supported and cared for him , took the time to get to know him, enabling him, encouraging him and laughing with him.
Dad loved to have an joke and even when life became more challenging and he repeated the same joke multiple
times, they all reacted as though it was the first time they heard it, which made his day .
Clayburn court staff focus on what's important, not just delivery of a high standard of care but that each person is seen and treated as the individual they are.
Highly recommend.

I'm writing to express my heartfelt appreciation for the exceptional care my aunt receives at the Manor. The facilities are beautifully maintained, with her room always kept clean and tidy. The staff treat her with the utmost dignity, going above & beyond to make her feel like part of an extended family.
The housekeepers are friendly and approachable, contributing to a warm environment. The activities offered remind me of five-star hotel entertainment, ensuring residents are engaged & happy. The food is delicious and home cooked, with chefs always willing to accommodate special requests, loves her black pudding. It is evident that management leads with excellence, as the entire team from maintenance, admin to front of house, everyone works seamlessly to provide outstanding support. Knowing my aunt is safe and well cared for allows me to enjoy our time together as her niece rather than her caregiver, which brings me great peace of mind. The carers & team leaders are angels in disguise.
Reply from Sharon Harrison, Manager at The Manor House Barnard CastleThank you so much for your incredibly kind and thoughtful review. It truly means a great deal to us to hear how happy your Aunt is and how reassured you feel knowing she is safe, comfortable, and well cared for. Providing a warm, homely environment where residents are treated with dignity, respect, and compassion is at the heart of everything we do, so your words are very special to our whole team.
We are delighted that you've noticed the efforts of our housekeeping, catering, activities, and care teams. Everyone works hard to create a positive atmosphere, and it's wonderful to hear your aunt is enjoying the activities-and especially the black pudding! Your recognition of our staff will be shared with them all; they will be so proud to know the difference they are making. That peace of mind for you as a niece is exactly what we strive to give. Thank you again for sharing your experience.

My father moved into the Manor at the beginning of January after much trepidation and a lot of soul searching. It has worked out better than we could ever have imagined. We have been delighted with the care and attention my dad has had and equally the welcome we have received as a family. From the
minute we walk in the door we are greeted with warm welcoming faces and in the bar there will usually be some event that has been organised , keeping the place lively
and the residents engaged with new experiences. Every member of staff has been kind and caring and we can ask for no more as we are helped to navigate a difficult time in our father's live.
Thank you, to you all.
Reply from Rebecca Higginson, Manager at The Manor House Roundhay Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review. We truly understand how difficult and emotional the decision can be when a loved one moves into a care home, and we're so pleased to hear that your father's experience at The Manor has exceeded your expectations.
It means a great deal to us that both your father and your family have felt welcomed and supported from the very beginning. Creating a warm, friendly environment where residents feel engaged and at home is at the heart of what we do, so it's wonderful to know that the activities and daily atmosphere have made a positive difference.
Your kind words about our team are especially appreciated. We are very proud of our staff, and it's reassuring to hear that their care, compassion, and support have helped you navigate what can be a challenging time.
Thank you again for your trust and for sharing your experience-it truly means a lot to all of us.

Mum just passed away after 5 years at the Manor House, Duchy floor, then Chesters, age 96.
We particularly wanted to say thankyou to everyone on the team (shout out for Kelly and Tom, so caring and supportive) who looked after Mum. We have been confident throughout that Mum was well cared for, and
we are so grateful for that. To us, the criteria has always been 'would Dad have approved' of the arrangements that we made for Mum. That's a resounding yes, which is a great comfort.
So this is a simple but heartfelt thankyou, then, for all your care, keep up the good work.

The care that our Great Grandmother received was absolutely outstanding.
As she deteriorated in her mental capacity the love and care remained constant.
You can FEEL the warmth when you step in to Kerria Court
Every single member of staff has been friendly with us and all visitors whenever we have
been there.
I think there is a very playful vibe where the residents are encouraged to laugh and have as much fun as possible - we LOVE to see this !!!!
The Manager is the kindness lady I think I have ever known - she goes above and beyond her role, she ensures her staff are as committed as she is and it shows through the mutual respect her team have with her.
I have never known such an airy bright, in touch with nature, environment offering this kind of facility - it really is unique!
I will be using Kerria Court in future if an elderly relative needs this service - I wouldn't mind travelling - I can HIGHLY recommend.

Dad felt chest pains at 10.30am on Saturday. Typically stubborn as his generation are, he refused an ambulance. Mid-afternoon I got a call from Leigh explaining the situation & would I attend for my opinion. By the time I got there, she had convinced him to let her call an ambulance. Thankfully no heart
problems & released from hospital just after midnight. Had Leigh not done what she did, I wouldn't have slept that night. Massive thanks Leigh. X Also staff who welcomed him back that night. Nothing too much for them. 5 star service!!
