Anchor’s Bethune Court in St. Leonards-on-Sea enjoys a location close to the seafront and is within a short distance of the attractions offered by the seaside town.

The home supports older people to live a comfortable lifestyle in single en-suite rooms and continues to welcome new residents.

My Dad moved into Bethune as a permanent resident back in October 2024. He was living independently beforehand but had a fall and so more care was needed.


We have been very impressed with the staff at Bethune. They work extremely hard to accomodate over 40 residents all with different needs.


They

are kind and compassionate and take time to solve any worries that my Dad has had since his admission.
The room is spacious and kept clean and my dad is free to come and go as he pleases within reason so he still feels independent to a point. The meals always look good and the kitchen staff work hard to look after everyone's requirements which is no mean feat!
The daily entertainment is varied and there is always something to join in with
The office staff have been amazing. They follow up any queries quickly and efficiently and always have a smile!
We feel so much relief knowing that when we leave Dad after visiting him that he is in very safe hands.

The first month of my mum's stay at Bethune Court has been a rollercoaster of emotions for her and the family. The staff at Bethune Court have helped to smooth this transition and cannot be praised enough. Nothing is too much trouble for them as they continue to put my mum's needs at the top of their
agenda. Their door is always open and they are keen to offer advice and a smile. The home itself is clean, fresh and welcoming and I would not hesitate in recommending it for your loved one.

We are very pleased with the care Mum has received since moving to Bethune Court. Having previously been very independent, she initially found it difficult to adjust to living in a care home but with the support of all the kind and patient staff, she has slowly but surely started to settle. She enjoys
taking part in some of the many and varied activities on offer. Unfortunately, Mum has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and the staff are doing everything they can to support both Mum and us, as a family, on this journey.

What started out as a trial respite has turned into a permanent stay as I have had a health problem diagnosed. I couldn't be happier with Bethune Court. Mum has settled in so well, she loves the food and is making friends. She has gone from being at home, feeling isolated to chatty and cheerful. From

A beautiful view in a lovely, large room and friendly, caring staff have helped my aunt settle quickly after the difficulty of having to leave her home. The team at Bethune Court have been extremely supportive in both finding her a place where she can be happy, after unsuccessful viewings of other homes
in the area and ensuring that administrative needs are dealt with quickly and simply. As I live far from the area it is particularly important to know that my aunt is well cared for, and from my experience so far I would definitely recommend this care home.

Excellent home, all staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. My mother is very happy here. Bethune Court is just beautiful. The building is set out in a way to give residents plenty of room to move around and longes are very visitor friendly. The staff at Bethune Court are caring and kind. My mother recently had a fall and had to go to A and E. The staff were very helpful from start to finish when after 8 hours of waiting to be seen I brought my mother back at midnight, I had been in communication with the staff throughout giving updates
and then reassuring me that they would be able to do anything needed to help when she returned.
My mother has dementia and was very confused throughout. The minute we arrived back the staff were kind and empathetic to her needs. The two members of the night staff who were caring for her were just so nice and caring that it allowed me to leave her knowing she was well cared for.
The whole team that works at Bethune Court is considerate and very helpful from the cleaners, to the admin team to the carers and the management. I would certainly recommend Bethune Court to any family thinking of getting residential care for their relative.

Since my mother, now 98, arrived five years ago she has had excellent care from the
the kind and very helpful staff. I have always felt welcome and been able to communicate
with them about dealing with my mother's increasing frailty.


The modern, well-decorated building set in attractive gardens

has a pleasant, upbeat atmosphere, and the meals provided are tasty, nutritious and well-presented. The thoughtful, compassionate staff provide a fine service and I feel able to rely on them.

The home is exceedingly clean and tidy and the residents are well cared for. Food is of a high standard. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Rooms are all clean, bright and airy. The only negative is the lack of daily activities, quite a few of the residents say they feel these are nowhere as good as
they were twelve months ago.

I have been very impressed by the high standard of care my Godmother has received since she has been at Bethune Court. She had a few age-related issues before she came in and all of these problems were dealt with very professionally and efficiently. The room she has is very nice with a large ensuite
wet room. The room has a lovely view of the sea to Beachy Head which she really enjoys. The meals are very tasty and nutritious and the care staff picked up on a swallowing problem she had and called in the professionals to assess. All of the care staff and domestic staff are very friendly and attentive to her needs. The people in the office are also very approachable and happy to assist with any queries. To be honest, I was very worried about how my godmother would settle in as she was a little reluctant to leave her flat, but I have been very happily surprised that the transition has been no problem. I would highly recommend Bethune Court.

It was one of the hardest decisions and having to find the best care home for my mum, but over the past few years the staff at Bethune Court have been fantastic and understand my mum’s needs. I know she is safe and well looked after and when I visit my mum is happy and the staff very friendly. Great

As an ex-care home manager, these two weeks of respite have been a wonderful experience, being the resident being cared for. The care home is clean, well organised, and the staff are very helpful, polite and efficient. The food is good and well-presented. I have enjoyed my two weeks. I used my time

Mum has been to Bethune Court previously for a period of respite care. As always when we went to drop Mum off for this respite period she was welcomed back with open arms. The staff are warm and friendly and nothing is too much bother.
We had lunch in the dining room with Mum. We congratulated the
cook on a lovely meal.
The home is clean, modern and well-equipped. Mum really enjoyed all the activities.
Mum has some issues with her memory. When she comes back from her stay she is always more chatty and with it, leading us to think that she is regularly engaged with and stimulated when she is in the home.
When Mum left all the staff were sorry to see her go and asked her to come back again soon. This was especially so for one young man who said that Mum was the nicest person he had ever met and that he would really miss her.
The finance officer is such a great help and supports sorting out the payment required from social services, she really makes things easy.
