My Mum was admitted to care at the end of November 2020.
Due to Covid, we have never been able to see inside or visit her room except for a window visit. Bethune however gave us a WhatsApp tour prior to admission.
Never is it an issue to them to enquire how Mum is doing and if we want to speak to her they will either arrange immediately or arrange a call back which has always happened.
The staff are friendly and approachable.
Bethune was recommended by work colleagues some years ago and now I work for the NHS the home still has a great reputation.
I am very happy with our choice in very difficult circumstances. We would have never wanted Mum to end up in residential care but we were no longer able to provide the care she needs due to her deteriorating health with dementia.

I would happily recommend it here.

All staff are very helpful and appear knowledgeable. Staff always seem to have enough time to listen to my questions and either answer them or put me in touch with the appropriate person. I have been able to arrange telephone contact and video contact with my mother with no notice required. It has been a tough time for residents, their families and staff. I feel that my mother is valued and receiving care and support which puts my mind at rest. I have not been able to visit for over six months so feeling that my mother is safe and secure is really important at this time. Thanks to all the staff.

Your carers are wonderful - so patient and kind. Before the lockdown the visits were so relaxed and peaceful - thanks to the carers. Since the time we have been allowed restricted visits the arrangements have been the best you could manage and I am very grateful to you.

My father is 98 years old and came to live at Bethune Court after a number of falls and a long spell in hospital. From the start, the care at Bethune Court has been exemplary. The staff are genuinely caring and are helpful, cheerful and upbeat at all times. And, as a relative, I have always found the carers informative, supportive and approachable.

The care and attention my mum has received since coming to Bethune Court has been exemplary. The staff are, without exception, caring and courteous. Nothing is too much trouble. They pay attention to all the residents personal preferences. There is always a feeling of welcome to family members.

My mother who had Alzheimer's Disease spent four years at Bethune Court. I visited unannounced and met the home manager who gave me a tour of the facility as well as answering my questions. It was clear from that first visit that the home was both well run and had a friendly and homely atmosphere. All the staff at Bethune Court are most attentive and caring towards the residents. I ate in the dining room with my mother a number of times and was very impressed with the nutritional quality and choice of food available. The home offers a varied range of activities twice a day which my mother enjoyed participating in and the staff clearly enjoyed being part of. These activities also included a number of external people who came in to the home to entertain the residents. I was confident throughout the four years that my mother was safe, well looked after and treated compassionately with dignity and respect, particularly in her last months when her level of personal care needs increased.

I regularly visit my mother-in-law. She always seems happy and content. The food she is given looks very good. Activities occupy her and she likes to get involved with 'things'! The staff are polite to us when we visit and kind to her all the time. Her room is good, bathroom excellent.

Overall the quality of care is very good. What is clear to me is the lack of staff. Because of that, the staff cannot give their time to what is required. This seems to be a problem everywhere and does not give confidence to us elderly. So for me and the fact of what is paid, a full complement of staff is a necessary requirement.

Takes ages for tasks to be completed. Doesn't seem to be a clear line of communication between staff, residents and relatives. Can be frustrating. I know staff have the best of intentions but need to do what they say they will do.

Without exception ever member of staff was so pleasant, friendly and caring, not just to our father, but to all members of the family. Our father's stay was unfortunately short, but we would have no hesitation in recommending Bethune Court to anyone.

Every aspect of the home from the purpose built premises, cleanliness of all areas, stimulation of the residents through to the food was first class.

Overall Bethune Court is a first class care home. From the entrance and right through the home, a very high standard is visible and maintained. Staff are friendly and welcoming, yet also professional in their role. There is a good rapport between staff and management, giving a strong sense of security and support while experiencing a lovely home feeling environment. Care for those we love is always difficult to confront but Bethune is an excellent choice for someone facing this dilemma. I spend many happy times here while visiting my husband. I am always made welcome, to both joins in the daily activities and stay for meals. I would highly recommend Bethune, to anyone considering the need of care for their loved ones.
