My mum has been a resident at Selkirk for the best part of 3 years now. In that time, mum has received exemplary care from a team of truly wonderful staff. Mum frequently tells me that she feels very lucky to be a resident at Selkirk. She is very happy and knows that she is safe and well cared for.
It is always such a pleasure when visiting mum, to share fun and laughter with staff and other residents. All mums needs are cared for and should any issues arise Selkirk are quick to communicate these to the family. It is very reassuring to know that mum is supportive and with such kindness and care.

Living abroad is not easy when family members are in declining health but we have returned to the UK 5 times over the last 12 months to see mum in Selkirk House. And on every occasion we have felt wonderfully reassured by the care being provided by Kate and her team. Not only are the management, maintenance,
upkeep and procedures absolutely of the highest standard, but the kindness and genuine empathy of the team with the residents is something that is wonderful to see. I can not congratulate and thank all the staff at Selkirk House enough, and clearly I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the establishment.

I am so impressed with everything I have seen on my visits! The care shown by every single member of staff has amazed me. The food is high quality, the facilities, entertainment etc is more than I would have expected. But above all the care by the staff is second to none! I am booking myself a room

Dad has just moved into Selkirk House following the death of his wife. This was a move of over 100 miles, so a huge change on top of his loss. However this move has been made so much easier and smoother by all staff at Selkirk House.
From the initial contact with the wonderful admin staff to the
pre assessment with the deputy manager, we were made to feel so welcome and that Dad's needs and happiness were all that mattered to them. Dad's room was repainted before his arrival and some furniture removed so that he could bring his own bits from home. The room is very spacious, a flat really, with a spacious wet room, two built in wardrobes and a large storage cupboard as well as a kitchen area so Dad can make a drink for himself or visitors if he wants to. Everything is centred around dad, and what he needs and his care plan can be changed at any time to suit him. The meals are amazing, tasty and plenty of choice. Every member of staff we have met are friendly and very happy to help.

"Since my mother-in-law joined Manor Court care home two months ago, we've been consistently impressed by the truly excellent person-centred care she receives. From the very first day, the staff have gone above and beyond to ensure her comfort and happiness, making what could have been a difficult transition
incredibly smooth. It's clear they take the time to understand her unique personality and preferences, which means a lot to us as a family. The dedication to person-centred care is evident in every interaction. The whole team actively listens to her needs, respects her choices, and always treats her with the utmost dignity and compassion. Whether it's her daily routine, meal preferences, or engaging, everything is tailored to her individual well-being. This personalised approach has truly made her feel valued and at home, which is exactly what we hoped for. Knowing that she is in such capable and caring hands has given our entire family immense peace of mind. Highly recommend!

My mother moved into Manor court care home Nov 2025, after a hospital discharge, when moving in she was very frail. However, I been absolutely astounded by the exceptional quality of care she has received since her arrival. The staff's dedication, compassion, and professionalism have completely won
me over.
I been particularly impressed by the genuine warmth and attentiveness shown to my mother. I have witnessed firsthand how the team goes above and beyond to meet her needs and ensure her comfort. This personalised approach has provided me with a great sense of peace, knowing she's in such capable hands. I feel entirely comfortable with her care, and know she couldn't possibly receive better treatment anywhere else. The manager is very approachable, and always available, and shows such compassion and empathy, and his team are truly remarkable. I am incredibly grateful for the peace of mind Manor court has given me, and the wonderful care they provide to mum."

Mum has recently moved into Selkirk House.
From pre-assessment to move in everything was put in place. Training for diabetic was arranged. There was a lovely welcome basket with mums favourite things.
Mum is settling in well. I have not scored every area as mum has not been there long enough.

Mum has only been at the home 9 days & the care, compassion, attention to detail by staff is amazing!! My mum struggled with having help but here she seems a different person, its so nice to visit as her daughter & not a carer. Thank you everyone. Keep up the amazing work you all do!

I cannot express in words good enough how wonderful Selkirk House is. It's clean, staff are friendly and very caring. They cannot do enough for you. Food is excellent. The rooms are very comfortable with everything to be 'home from home'.
The activities are interesting and popular with quizzes, crafts

Best decision we made for mum to live at Selkirk House. Excellent all round. Staff are amazing, management approachable and very helpful, even arranging new flooring to be fitted to mums rooms, which looks fantastic. Mum has settled well, she's been there for over 2 years. Thank you everyone at Selkirk

Selkirk House, manager and all of the staff are so supportive and helpful. There's an absolutely happy atmosphere throughout the home. It is always welcoming and beautifully decorated inside and out from the entrance through and into the lovely garden. Great selection of activities.
My mother lived
in Selkirk some years ago. My friend of 93 lives in comfort ad security. Cared for with dignity and thoughtfulness. Its a wonderful care home.

From day one I found staff and management very professional. My father had Dementia and everyone was so understanding and caring. He often commented on how lovely they were. The food was amazing and the whole place clean and tidy. When it came to the end for my father everyone was amazing and we could
not have asked for more.
You should all be very proud of the care you provide.

My mother passed away in Selkirk House recently. She had been unwell for some time. The care provided by the staff was exemplary. Additionally, the team working between care workers, nurses and her GP was beyond reproach. My mother remained comfortable, pain free, loved and supported until the end.
The compassion shown throughout provided the family, her friends and me with complete confidence that she was in good hands. In the days following, the Home have been similarly supportive. Losing my mother has been devastating, but Selkirk House could not have done more to ensure she passed peacefully. Thank you.

My father suffered a fall and was taken to hospital on his return to Selkirk House, he was given a wonderful 'welcome home'. The staff have all been amazing. They are so kind + loving to everyone here and very attentive to all of my father's needs. The care is excellent. The facilities immaculate. I
cannot fault the facilities and feel confident that when I am not here my father is being well taken care of.

Since mum moved in last September she has settled really well. The care staff are all so caring and helpful. If we have any concerns we can always talk to someone. Many staff go above and beyond to care for the residents and their happiness is infectious to the residents happiness + wellbeing. We definitely
made the right choice in Selkirk House very happy.

From the very first point of contact on the phone to actually walking through the main doors on the first day of my husbands respite the accolades are so high for the care home and all its staff. Each and everyone of the staff are an absolute credit to this care home. My husband is non verbal and his
reactions and body language spoke for itself. He was so well cared for. Thank you to everyone at Manor Court. The epitome of care.

My dear friend has recently moved into Selkirk - this was my first visit.
I found it welcoming and friendly.
I happened to be there when a residents meeting was taking place - how lovely that everything was shared with them and their comments received. I have answered the questions relevant to my
visit - no food activities etc. My friend is VERY happy!
