Selkirk House, manager and all of the staff are so supportive and helpful. There's an absolutely happy atmosphere throughout the home. It is always welcoming and beautifully decorated inside and out from the entrance through and into the lovely garden. Great selection of activities.
My mother lived
in Selkirk some years ago. My friend of 93 lives in comfort ad security. Cared for with dignity and thoughtfulness. Its a wonderful care home.

From day one I found staff and management very professional. My father had Dementia and everyone was so understanding and caring. He often commented on how lovely they were. The food was amazing and the whole place clean and tidy. When it came to the end for my father everyone was amazing and we could
not have asked for more.
You should all be very proud of the care you provide.

My mother passed away in Selkirk House recently. She had been unwell for some time. The care provided by the staff was exemplary. Additionally, the team working between care workers, nurses and her GP was beyond reproach. My mother remained comfortable, pain free, loved and supported until the end.
The compassion shown throughout provided the family, her friends and me with complete confidence that she was in good hands. In the days following, the Home have been similarly supportive. Losing my mother has been devastating, but Selkirk House could not have done more to ensure she passed peacefully. Thank you.

The staff are very caring and my mother has definitely taken to them. She has settled into the home now and seems content. I am confident that she is being cared for properly. The home has a nice feeling and the facilities are maintained as is the home and the outside space. Very happy.

My father suffered a fall and was taken to hospital on his return to Selkirk House, he was given a wonderful 'welcome home'. The staff have all been amazing. They are so kind + loving to everyone here and very attentive to all of my father's needs. The care is excellent. The facilities immaculate. I
cannot fault the facilities and feel confident that when I am not here my father is being well taken care of.

From the very first point of contact on the phone to actually walking through the main doors on the first day of my husbands respite the accolades are so high for the care home and all its staff. Each and everyone of the staff are an absolute credit to this care home. My husband is non verbal and his
reactions and body language spoke for itself. He was so well cared for. Thank you to everyone at Manor Court. The epitome of care.

My dear friend has recently moved into Selkirk - this was my first visit.
I found it welcoming and friendly.
I happened to be there when a residents meeting was taking place - how lovely that everything was shared with them and their comments received. I have answered the questions relevant to my
visit - no food activities etc. My friend is VERY happy!

My Mother was a resident at Manor Court from October 2023 until she sadly died this January 2025.
Her lovely large room with the handy kitchenette was always kept very clean and tidy. The food was excellent and varied. One of the many positive things about this care home is that they have a policy
to encourage residents to be down stairs in the communal area so they interact and are not left in their room. There are also varied visiting performers and activities to entertain and stimulate. The carers were wonderful - very attentive, helpful and kind - seeing to my mum's every need including even allowing us to facetime her using one of the carer's phone. One example of the exceptional care was when the manager came in especially to sit with my mum late one night when there was a serious health issue so she wasn't left on her own. My mother was very happy at Manor Court and my family will always be grateful.

Dad moved into Selkirk in August 2021-It was the best thing that we ever did. The wonderful team. "Purple Angels" took the best care of Dad and made his final 3 years the best possible. He had dementia and we were struggling to take care of him. We both did not want to have Dad in a Care home but we
are So glad and thankful that we did this. Dad and
I had a wonderful time at Selkirk and I can't thank them enough!

Mum has been in 15 months and during this period I at last am at peace, that she is safe, happy and well cared for. Also, Mum's care has had to be adjusted as her needs change and I appreciate the regular call to ensure/check that needs are identified and covered within her plan.
Change is the enemy
for old folk, but all change is carefully managed and new routines established, even if Mum is getting confused now.
In December Mum was depressed as this was the time of year we nursed Dad through end of life and a carer spotted this and was attentive to the change in Mum. Also appreciate seeing carers get positive feedback from the manager.

My mum moved into Selkirk House at the beginning of the year. I am delighted with the care and attention she received and every member of staff I have encountered has been extremely kind and caring towards Mum and myself. Mum's room and all the communal areas of the home are clean, tidy and well looked
after. There are activities provided every day with which Mum can join in if she wishes to. Overall, I am very pleased that we chose this home for Mum.

My mum has dementia and has lived at Selkirk House for 18 months now. From the outset mum has received such wonderful care. Indeed, she has settled into life at Selkirk so well we couldn't be more delighted. The staff at Selkirk are all so kind and supportive, patient, attentive and this is extended
to us as a family. Mum feels safe, happy and truly well looked after. Mum's room is always clean and tidy. The kitchen staff provide a varied choice of delicious meals. The activities team ensure that there is always something interesting and fun to participate in. From quizzes to visits from alpacas. There is always a warm and cheerful atmosphere and laughter to be shared with staff and residents alike. Thank you Selkirk House.

My darling mother has lived at Selkirk House for some 20 months now. As her health has deteriorated the level of care needed has increased. I cannot speak too highly of the kindness, compassion and good nature with which she is looked after, not just every day but several times a day.
The place is
amazing and is staffed by such incredible people from the Manager and the Deputy Manager, through team leaders and carers to the cleaning ladies and management staff. Every one of them is so kind, so professional and so caring.
I am so pleased I chose Selkirk Hpuse for my beautiful mother.
