My mother has been at St Edith's for just over 2.5 years. We chose St Edith's as it is a small friendly home with the advantage of a huge garden.
The staff are compassionate, caring and sensitive to the residents needs. My mother was recently admitted to hospital and returned to the home in a very
frail state. The staff have nursed her back to health and she is back to her old self.
The home has had some recent management issues but this has now been resolved. I am confident that my mother is safe and well looked after.

St Edith's Court is a beautiful care home and has a great reputation in the local area. Over the past couple of months, I have seen significant changes for the better, since the new Home Manager has been in post. As soon as you walk through the door, you can feel warmth from everyone. The staff have
always been caring but there now seems to be a "buzz" within the team and they are happier and have more morale. The environment has changed for the better and all residents seem happy and engagement has really improved. St Edith's is a very special place, with a team that truly give fabulous care. The Management Team are so supportive and professional. Carry on doing what you are doing, St Edith's! Lovely care home.

St Edith is not only a care home, it is a safe haven. There is support, compassion, professionalism, respectfulness, understanding and sensitivity towards the residents, as well as the focus on residents overall well being. There are activities for the resident throughout the week, the garden is beautiful
and a pleasure to walk around. I have visited many homes in the past and St Edith by far, comes out the best. So, thank you all at St Edith for everything you do for my aunt.

Having to have to put our mother into care was a heart-breaking experience for my sister and myself which with her dementia and non compliance of the situation even harder ,
All of the staff superbly lead by the manager made it a lot easier and their care for her is absolutely brilliant , we held
her 90th birthday tea in the upstairs lounge area with their help and we think she had a Great time surrounded by her family from 85yr old brother to 2 11 month old Great Grandchildren
Thanks again

Excellent experience of Blackbrook House. My Mum has been there nearly 2 years and she has been transformed from someone who just watched TV, was not taking care of herself and was not interested in anything or anyone around her, to someone who takes an active interest in everything. She is a very different
person and I have not only got my Mum back but a happier version of my Mum than I have ever seen in spite of the fact that she was very happily married and had a lovely family! Being nurtured and looked after suits her down to the ground. She loves the staff, enjoys the activities, feels respected and cared for. I am always welcomed and the staff are very caring and friendly. I think the care and attention the staff show Mum is something she has needed for a long time and finally found! I definitely chose the right home for Mum. I am so happy she went to Blackbrook House.

My mum was very unsettled when she first came. However with the excellent care and kindness of the staff she is now in a much better way. The staff are all very kind and considerate, if I have any questions they are only too happy to answer and reassure me. I am entirely satisfied with the care she
is recieving

Having tried several care home previously I am delighted to find Blackbrook House for my mother. She has settled in very well. Your carers are all really polite and attentive. It is a great comfort to know my mother is being well looked after. The premises are very cheerful and bright, my mother's room
on the north side is a bit glooming and I understand you will consider her for a brighter room when one becomes available.

My mother has been at St Edith's Court for 6 weeks and is loving it. The staff have made her very welcome and are always happy to help, answer questions and ensure my mums stay is happy, safe and enjoyable. She really enjoys the daily entertainment and likes the food choices. The room is comfortable
with nice view and she loves going out into the garden.

From the moment I entered St Edith's Court, I have been impressed. The friendliness and attentiveness of the staff is wonderful and the environment is clean, bright and welcoming. The facilities are excellent and the residents rooms are spacious and airy. The bathroom and kitchen allow my mother a degree
of independence she did not have at home and are good sizes. I am very grateful that my mother has a place at St Edith's Court. It's our first experience of a care home and we couldn't be happier with the lovely staff and care she receives.

Friendly kind understanding accomodating smiling staff.
Excellent decor comfortable furnishings a real homely atmosphere,i in fact everything you could want from a care home Food also looked super. All in all wonderful place for a loved one to find themselves when personal independence is no longer
an option. Visited my friend in a few local homes when she has had short care needs and this seems gold star in comparison.

My mother has been at st Edith's for nearly two years, she arrived with mobility problems but very alert. She has deteriorated and now has palliative care. Throughout her stay the staff have been amazing, so dedicated and caring especially now that she is a more difficult resident. My wife and I have
recommended St Edith's to numerous friends and acquaintances.

Unfortunately due to Anchors policies I cannot detail just how badly my mother was let down during her stay here .I can only say that due to many safeguarding issues I would not recommend this home to any person looking for a safe ,well managed care home for their loved one.I do wonder how long my review
will be left up by Anchor who ,welcome feedback !!!!!!

My mum moved in last year ,and the home seemed lovely ,very clean and her room was nice
We were promised that there would be activities on a regular basis and she would be included and welcomed and made to feel safe and part of the home
Sadly this wasn't the case ,the management is extremely poor
,there is no communication ,no documentation when concerns were raised by us they were not investigated and we even got laughed at
After several safeguards have been raised and complaints expressed still they can not answer our questions so we have had to move her which has been hard for her and ourselves
I would not recommend this home to anyone and feel sorry for the residents that remain there if they are being treated in the same way as my mum

Dad moved to Blackbrook House at the ripe age of 97 - quite a transition for someone who was previously living in an independent flat. From the outset the managers and all the staff were very kind and thoughtful and treated Dad with respect and care. The home is welcoming, clean and bright with lovely
areas to sit and walk around. Although Dad is now very frail he continuously comments on how kind and caring the staff are. To end with his own words 'Excellent, nice staff, very understanding and always prepared to listen to what you have to say. They are all very lovely'.

My father in law was in St Edith's Leigh on sea from October 2024 to the 10th of March 2025. The care he received was wonderful.
He sadly passed away in hospital after being taken there by ambulance from the home.
We cleared out his room completely within 36 hours of him leaving the room.
So the
room was available to Anchor to re let by the 12th of March.
We asked for the balance of the March fee (around £3300) to be refunded on the 13th of March.
After reminding the local administrator at the home several times we are still waiting for the monies to be refunded, she assured me that the head office would refund the monies as she was unable to actually forward the funds.
It's now April 11th and no refund has been made. I have phoned the head office and they were adamant that the local home is responsible for the refund. The local home assured me that the refunds come from the HQ.
Long story short. I need the £3,300 to help pay for funeral expenses.
Still waiting a month later.

Thank you for taking the time to review St Edith's Court. Thank you for your kind comments regarding our care at St Edith's Court and please accept our condolences on the passing of your Father-in-Law. We are sorry to see that a refund of fees was not processed in a timely manner. Thank you for taking the time to discuss this with me, where this issue has now been resolved.

Mother spent the last three years of her life at Blackbrook House and knowing that she was safe and comfortable there was a huge weight off my mind. The staff were all very caring and treated Mum with respect.
The managers were always approachable and treated Mum as an individual not just as a client.
Her final passing was treated with compassion and dignity.

I have found St Edith's to have a warm, friendly happy and welcoming atmosphere. Staff are kind, caring considerate and patient. Management are willing to act, assist and most important, listen. As Mum is still settling in. She hasn't attended activities yet but we hope she will soon, so I cannot comment
on those. I hear laughter and see happy faces in here and it does feel like Mum's home - warm and cosy.

My father enter St Edith's in the respite room after a months stay in hospital after getting stuck in bath. Prior to this he was completely independent at 92 years old. Finding that he now needs assistance with daily tasks has been a shock for him as well as us. The staff who have cared for him have
been wonderful and treated him with respect and dignity. We have now got him there full time in a room of his own and he seems to be slowly settling in. St Edith's came highly recommended by several friends who had relatives there in the past and it has not disappeared.
