Review of Simon Marks Court from A D (Daughter of Resident) published on 7 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

In th 6 months my dad has been a resident at Simon Marks. I feel that the staff have been very effective in welcoming and settling him. This has taken time and skill as he has communication difficulties and physical impairment following a stroke and also did not want to accept help. The kindness and compassion of staff, excellent food, safe environment and a structured routine is perfect for dad's needs.

Dad moved in (emergency admission) march 2026 Mum moved in early July 2026.

Very pleased indeed with how Sam B made an emergency place available for Dad. She was brilliant. I have been impressed with how the care team have dealt with Dad, who has very complex needs and can be volatile and aggressive. This all prompted me to move my Mum to join him at Simon Marks. I am very pleased with how it is all going. My only slight disappointment is that I absolutely want mum and Dad to see each other every day - not happening so far.

What to expect.....
My Mum needed full nursing care. She stayed at Wetherby Manor for just over a year. It was closest to everyone able to visit her, felt pleasant and homely with a good reputation and had a place available. I still feel these were important factors in making our decision.
GOOD-
Beautifully furnished communal areas
Pleasant staff
Easy parking
Home made food
NOT SO GOOD-
Average hygiene of residents room and care for the resident- washing/ hair washing
Restricted access to coffee facilities for guests.
Very limited availability of carers to socialise with immobile residents
Inconsistent 'rules' about electric wheelchairs and dining with friends
POOR
No help with guidance on help with care home fees
Terrible organisation with hospital appointments and transport coordination
Inadequate assessment of furniture in rooms - Mum fell out of an armchair.

Nurses seem overworked and quite often agency staff. Notes/ communication is inadequate and frustrating

Review of Springfield from Ann B (Sister of Resident) published on 28 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My brother Richard has been in this lovely care home for the past 5 years after suffering a serious stroke.
He has been looked after so well and after his recent passing, I am writing to thank every member of staff for their care and love while Richard was a resident in the home.
He was extremely happy there and always treated like a member of a family
Even at the end of his life he was looked after gently and with dignity by making sure that he was comfortable in the last hours of his life.

I can certainly recommend this care home if anyone is considering care in their later life.

We as a family would like to thank all the fabulous Staff and Management at Saville Park for the care mum received in her final year.
During mums stay every member of staff has been so kind and considerate not only to mum but to all the family.
Every health issue was raised and family updated promptly.
We can not thank you all enough for the care, support and privacy we received during mums final days.

For any family finding themselves in the unfortunate position of loved ones needing to go into care we would not hesitate to recommend Saville Park.

Both my parents moved in to Savile Park at the beginning of may. Since they came in Mum unfortunately had a fall due to not pressing her assistance buzzer for help. The staff were absolutely fantastic calling an ambulance + getting Mum the help required. Since they have been in myself + rest of my family have been very impressed with every single member of staff. Everything we have asked has been sorted + we can't fault anything at all. The staff are all really friendly + nothing is too much trouble. We are very impressed with the social side aswell. Thank you to everyone for looking after my parents + us

Review of Halcyon Court from M M (Daughter of Resident) published on 16 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mother has been resident in Halcyon Court Care Home for over five years. For much of that time, she has been a wheelchair user. She will soon celebrate her 102nd birthday.

Mum always likes to go outside when I visit, weather permitting, and the outside space at Halcyon Court hasn't always looked its best.

Over the last few weeks, Marius has worked hard to improve this. The front lawn is now cut and cared for, and he has planted beds, planters and hanging baskets with lovely flowering plants, transforming the look of the building, especially at the front and round the back where everyone enters the building. Residents and visitors, I'm sure, will appreciate this very much. Mum and I do,

she loves to see the new plants and flowers.

I'm glad that Marius is getting some recognition for his work on this. Halcyon Court is a beautiful old building, and it's outside space looks so much better now.

Overall Experience

Mum has been a resident at Ashcroft for 18 months now, and with some challenging times with mum's condition, the staff have adapted and provided love, care and compassion for her. We are confident mum is safe and well looked after. When walking about with mum, there is always conversation and affection towards her, and she returns it. All staff are ready to answer questions and provide assistance, no matter how busy.

Since my mother started her residency 2 years ago she was made to feel very welcome. The staff have been brilliant with her, they are so helpful and have a lot of patience with her. All the residents are really nice as well. There are always activities going on which Mum nearly always joins in. If there are medical issues to be raised it is dealt with promptly. Review of Primrose Court from Matthew H (Son of Resident) published on 6 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My dad was treated with the utmost respect and kindness during the 12 months he was cared for. The staff were superb, caring, professional, always available, always kind and at all times treated my dad with exceptional service, dignity and fondness. He wanted for nothing, and despite not being the easiest person at times, nothing was too much trouble.
Primrose Court is like a family, with carers, cleaners and kitchen staff all equally cheerful, positive and receptive and treating all its residents with kindness, support and appropriate care according to individual needs.

I cannot praise everybody there highly enough, and given I know that Carers do not get paid as much as they should, they are an absolute credit to their posts, to Primrose Court and to the wider community.

Review of Wetherby Manor from Philip M (Husband of Resident) published on 30 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience
My experience me as a brief resident and a longtime visitor and my wife as a long-term resident at Wetherby Manor has been excellent. The care and support were of the highest order and the Management and Staff attitudes were exemplary in all they did and we were treated at all times with professional dignity. The facilities were those usually found in a top-class hotel. Cleanliness was the byword. Meals were quite simply home from home... all a very high standard. The activities were varied and enjoyable. Maximum resident safety and security were the watchwords

Completely value for money Wetherby Manor is very highly recommended as an excellent care home. The senior staff are to be complimented on the standards and example they set.

Review of Oulton Manor from Rob B (Husband of Resident) published on 26 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

From my initial contact with the home everyone has been exceedingly helpful since it is always difficult navigating a system that you have little experience of. My wife had fallen at home and broke her right hip and after an operation in hospital she could not return home but needed to recuperate in a supportive and caring environment which is exactly what Oulton Manor provided. Her room is excellent with facility needed for a comfortable stay. The home is set in a very attractive position with attractive gardens and ample car parking. Most of important of all every member of staff I have met during my wife's stay has been caring and, when requesting help, nothing has been too much trouble. They are all, without exception, friendly and supportive.
