Wharfeside

from C P (Daughter of Resident) published on 4 December 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
The kindness, care and attention that Dad was given on the 2nd Floor went above and beyond what we could have hoped for. In his last weeks at Wharfeside, Dad felt safe knowing that staff were always nearby and understood his needs. Communication with family was excellent, any medical updates or concerns
about Dad were always relayed to us quickly, we always felt in the loop. Although Dad never wanted to move to a care home, he recognised that he couldn't continue to live independently and he came to acknowledge the care he was given, this is a testament to the staff at Wharfeside, he called them his angels. If there were any concerns, staff would listen and act quickly, they genuinely want residents to feel comfortable and cared for. The building and facilities are kept scrupulously clean and staff work hard to provide a range of activities and events to engage residents.

The Manor House Roundhay Care Home

from R H (Friend of Resident) published on 3 December 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My friend moved into The Manor House in November 2024 when it first opened. We were impressed then and now a year later we are still impressed. The building and the individual rooms are really well maintained. Everything is as clean and tidy and beautiful as it was when it first opened. The impression
was and still is more of a 5 star hotel than a care home. The staff team has obviously increased in size as more residents have moved in through the year, but nearly all of the original members of staff are still there and that continuity reflects in the care that is provided as residents really are treated like family. No excuse for a party or a celebration is missed (especially ones that involve dressing up to the max!) and this is in addition to the regular programme of activities that you would expect to be available. If you need to move into a care home, The Manor House in Roundhay is the place to be.

Nearly 6 months have now passed and sending my mother into a care home was a grim prospect for me and family. We all knew that this was the right decision for her and now having spent nearly 6 months we can only credit all the staff for their hard work, care and love they give to my mother. I know she
struggles with her condition ( Alzheimer's ) but i can rest in comfort knowing she is the right and best care that can be given for her. Well done The Manor House especially to Ahmad , Abigail , Sam , Sharma, Donna , Clare ( manager) and not forgetting the barista !! And all other staff that i have not mentioned. Great work guys

Mum has settled into Trinity Fold very quickly. She seems calm and restful. The staff interact and communicate with her. They are helpful, kind and compassionate. Everyone smiles and nothing is ever too much. Mum has high risk for falling and staff are aware and supervise her and help her to walk to
the toilet and dining room. The home feels happy and full of energy. I haven't witnessed any activities yet.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
A few months ago we had the very difficult task of having to put mum into a care home. She's got dementia and her health declined after a fall. We made an appointment to view the home and we fell in love with it straight away. The Manor House is a beautiful place. Mum has a lovely spacious room. There's
a lovely cafe bar where residents and family and friends can socialise and other beautiful social spaces.
All the staff from management, catering staff, reception, carers and housekeeping are wonderful. They're all so kind and caring to mum.
Mum has settled in really well which was such a relief for us.
There's always a variety of activities going on such as board games, quizzes, musicians, singers, drawing, crafts etc. Although mum is a bit limited in what she can do she is always encouraged to join in
Although it felt sad for mum to go into a care home we couldn't be happier where she is and most importantly she's happy and settled. Thank you to all the staff at The Manor House.

Mum has been at Sandholme since July, and the staff and management have really helped in settling mum into a new way of living whilst at the same time dealing with her dementia.
Mum really likes the food, the activities and the general friendliness of the staff and fellow residents and appreciates
that help is on hand 24 hours.
We have found Sandholme to be clean and a welcoming place to visit mum. When we have had issues, we have been listened and action has been taken to rectify matters.
We all really like the garden and the "Haven" upstairs, where we can have some private time with mum. Many thanks

The Manor House Roundhay is a beautiful place, with an incredible team caring for residents at its heart.
My mum has a fabulous, spacious room with a patio. The rooms are cleverly designed, to be elegant and not institutional yet with an abundance of storage space. We have found a place for everything
Mum brought, which was quite a lot!
Mum is looked after expertly, treated with respect and nourished body and mind. I look forward to my visits and finding out what mum, her friends and the interesting, interested team have been up to.
The 'At Home' party we had to welcome Mum to Leeds held in the private dining room deserves a special mention. It was planned thoughtfully with Mum, from the layout of the room and the excellent buffet, to a member of the team being there throughout the evening to make sure everything went smoothly. It most definitely did and our guests had a brilliant evening.
Here's to more good times ahead.

The Manor House Roundhay Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mum had a brief but truly memorable stay at Manor House, and we couldn't be more grateful for the care she received. The facilities, food, and activities were of an exceptional standard, all set within beautiful and peaceful surroundings that made her feel relaxed and at home.
However, what really
set Manor House apart for us was the staff. Their kindness, compassion, and attention to detail were extraordinary. They couldn't do enough for their guests, and it was clear that every member of the team genuinely cared. Knowing that Mum was treated with such warmth, dignity, and respect brings us great comfort.
Even after her stay, the thoughtful communication and care shown by the team-especially in looking after her belongings-was deeply appreciated. It's rare to find such a combination of professionalism and heartfelt compassion.
We will always remember Manor House fondly and are thankful for the comfort and joy it brought to Mum during her time there.

Sandholme Fold is a very pleasant environment. The recent redecoration has been done to a good standard and very tasteful. All of the staff are warm, welcoming and very approachable to residents and guests alike. I am on first name terms with all of them. Recent improvements to the food have been a
big step forward. The professionalism and enthusiasm of the Manageress and her Deputy to drive forward on the improvements they have already made is very clear to see.

Sandholme Fold is a very friendly place to be. The Staff are very helpful, approachable and caring. The rooms are nice and bright and well kept and the care home has been recently redecorated in a very tasteful manor. The new food menus are nice and there are lots of fresh bakes to go along with regular
cups of tea. Guests are made to feel very welcome and are encouraged to join in with activities and trips. There is lots of entertainment for the residents to enjoy should they wish ranging from bingo, to vocal entertainers & crafts.
