reading again and fully engaged with what's going on. It's quite a turnaround and all down to the care, attention to detail and dedication of the staff. The facilities are always clean and tidy, the food is good and the staff are fantastic always engage with my mother and myself as if we are their only concern. The staff at all levels communicate well, they listen and respond to carers, residents and relatives at all times. All in all the experience been well above all our expectations and all our initial worries were unfounded. So a big thank you.

Dad has been at the home for nearly 3 years. Right from the start, Dad and all the family have been made so welcome. It really is his home. The staff are fabulous, not only do they look after Dad 24/7, they manage to find time to greet us, make time for a chat if needed (or a shoulder to lean on). The support we have received as a family has been invaluable. Dad's health and wellbeing has improved considerably since he has lived here, which has given us, his family, peace of mind, knowing he is safe and cared for.

Overall the quality of care, food and facilities is very good. I would like to see better bedding (ie duvets /pillows and sheets/duvets covers and pillow cases) and better bed making.

Mum and Dad were moved into Wharfeside in July 2025, mostly against their will, and spent 5 months there, before moving them out to somewhere nearer family. The time they were there was not easy for the teams of carers, but they were absolutely fantastic, and went over and above what should be expected. It was only them being nearer family and a more faith based home that made the necessity to move them out. Thank you all so much.

The kindness, care and attention that Dad was given on the 2nd Floor went above and beyond what we could have hoped for. In his last weeks at Wharfeside, Dad felt safe knowing that staff were always nearby and understood his needs. Communication with family was excellent, any medical updates or concerns about Dad were always relayed to us quickly, we always felt in the loop. Although Dad never wanted to move to a care home, he recognised that he couldn't continue to live independently and he came to acknowledge the care he was given, this is a testament to the staff at Wharfeside, he called them his angels. If there were any concerns, staff would listen and act quickly, they genuinely want residents to feel comfortable and cared for. The building and facilities are kept scrupulously clean and staff work hard to provide a range of activities and events to engage residents.

I find all the staff extremely helpful, friendly and always take time to listen to any concerns I have.They are quick to act if my father is unwell and contact a doctor as quickly as is possible. They will ring to let me know when they have been, and update me with any relevant information regarding his health. He is made to feel comfortable and the staff are quick to help him with his needs at all times.

Your staff have been wonderful in looking after mum. They have managed to put a smile on her face and even a laugh or two.

The care my friend has received and their support for me has been truly exceptional.The kindness patience and empathy of every member of staff is outstanding. I cannot thank them enough.

My mum sadly had a very short time at Anchor Wharfeside. Shortly after moving into her lovely room her health seriously deteriorated. I cannot praise the staff more for their care, professionalism, support and compassion whilst dealing with 2 separate emergencies. The carers were straight away alerted to my mums symptoms and acted quickly and appropriately. Although we had a very short experience I know had my mum had the time to settle in she would've be taken great care of and been very happy. It's a beautiful place in a gorgeous location and I'm just sorry she didn't have the chance to enjoy some time there in better health. Sadly she passed away earlier this week. Thank you all at Wharfeside who were in some way involved in looking after my mum. We will always be grateful.

Very friendly staff, always helpful. They make my mother-in-law feel very happy.

Wharfside is a wonderful place where my dad has settled in so well. The staff go above and beyond to ensure all dads needs are met in a happy manner. I cannot speak higher of this place if I tried and would recommend this to any family thinking of moving a family member to Wharfeside. Keep being the lovely care team you are!

The facilities are good, always clean and well maintained- particularly the lovely gardens! Great staff, always very friendly and helpful. Grandma is happy and well cared for.

Warfeside cared for my sister-in-law for six months. She was mostly immobile, couldn't stand or walk. I can't speak highly enough of the care I witnessed weekly by the Wharfeside staff. They were kind, caring and considerate and they treated her always with dignity, humour and respect. I am very grateful for everything they did for her during her, sadly, all too brief stay.

Such an excellent place, from the day mum first moved in to now, everyone has been so lovely, kind and look after mum's every needs she really is happy, which is such a great reassurance. Whenever we come to see mum, there's always something on, mum loves being entertained! There's always laughter and she's very content.

Once again Wharfeside have shown how amazing they are in supporting our Uncle. He has been at Wharfeside for almost a year and is very settled there with staff that really know him and care. There is consistency, dignity and compassion from the whole team. He is currently in hospital and Wharfeside have gone over and above to ensure they can support him and his needs as he returns to Wharfeside. Thank you specifically to two members of staff on Poppy floor and to all the team who continue to support him.

I am very happy with the care that is provided for my dad. Rooms are clean, and the food appears good. Dad's dirty needs are catered for. The staff on Dad's floor (one in particular) are very caring and efficient and meet all of his needs. Communication regarding Dad is good.

Generally, the care is very good. I believe my husband is well looked after by the care staff. I do wonder why staying in this home is so expensive!

I would encourage anyone who needs residential care for themselves or a loved one and is anxious as we were, to visit Wharfeside and talk to staff and residents. This is a gem of a place.
