I have friends that are resident in Timken Grange Care home, Duston. Some of my friends have
been resident over 5 years, the last one John a resident
the past three weeks, he loves being looked after by the carers. Visiting the care home gives my life structure and takes away some of the loneliness.
When entering the care home you are greeted with a smile from Jane or Kim, both ladies have a pleasing manner. The care home is spotlessly clean and unlike other homes that I have visited does not have any unpleasant odours. The activities in the care home are many and varied. One most popular are the hymn singing, carpet bowls, and poetry club where residents compose their own poems and read them out.I have found the meals at the Grange very good, made with fresh produce and
served hot. Being a visitor over 65 yrs and live alone I get invited to Sunday lunch which I appreciate and look forward to. In short I would become a resident of the Grange in Louise the Manageress's excellent care.

Upon entering Overstone House, a beautiful vibe. All staff so helpful and just lovely. Staff actively encourage my mum to take part in everything which is wonderful to see. Mum's room, warm and inviting and kept very nice. Mum is kept lovely with the personal care provided, and she enjoys the meals,
and eating in the invited environment, with the other residents. Mum is treated with dignity and all my queries dealt with promptly. So far after only joining in December a beautiful experience.

Mum was quite unwell in December with chest pains and staff very good dealing with her and taking appropriate action. Plenty of Christmas activities on for all to enjoy whatever level of ability. Young male singer is exceptionally good with all the residents and if unable to get up will give them instruments
to use, so all included. Management easy to approach and discuss any concerns. Receptionist always give a lovely welcome as do all the staff.

My mother has Alzheimer's and had a negative experience at a previous care home once her illness progressed and she needed additional assistance with personal care as her communication abilities affect her behaviour when frightened and confused. Louise and her team were breath of fresh air.
They
saw a lady with difficulty and confusion not an inconvenience and worked at getting to know her and adapted her care as an individual. This has allowed her to form close bonds with the staff. As a family navigating this scary path they were so very supportive particularly to my father and reassuring that what was happening to Mum was not unusual.
Mum loves music and her sense of rhythm remains strong although she may not be able to join in with all the activities she is encouraged to be close so is included. We as a family have no hesitation in recommending Timken Grange.

I am a visitor to Peter and a good friend of Aline's. I constantly see great workers, great work, and consistent attention to staff. Treating residents so well. Super standards and awareness to families concerns. Staff respond quickly, especially Kieron, who sped off to Wellingborough to sort Peter's
glasses that broke.

For just over 1 year now, we have received nothing but helpful, considerate and friendly service from a wide group of staff and management a like. Communication has been good when needed and the care provided has been of a very good standard.
Thank you to all concerned, making this transition into
a care home for our mother much easier for us.

When I first walked into Timken Grange it was obvious this was a happy place to be with high levels of staff morale. The interaction between staff and residents was relaxed and friendly. The activities board isn't just there for show - activities and trips out are available if the residents want to
participate. Residents are encouraged to take part to reach their full potential.
Visitors are welcomed and every Friday there is a joint gathering where visitors and residents meet for a chat over cakes sand hot drinks.
Before retiring I worked in a mental health rehabilitation unit as a senior instructor so I'm used to assessing work atmospheres.
I'm grateful to ALL the staff at Timken Grange, both frontline carers and others who keep the place running, for their care which they give to my wife now I can no longer give her the quality of life she deserves.
May your God always be with you.

My mother has been a resident since January 2025. She entered the home following a major stroke and needed assistance with many areas of her daily life. Unable to move independently initially, she is now able to walk short distances using a walking frame. She was underweight on admission but due to
the tasty, healthy meals she is receiving (she loves her food) she is now at an acceptable weight.
She enjoys the many stimulating activities that are on offer, which are keeping her active both physically and mentally.
We are thankful to all the staff who contribute to mum's care they have all paid a part in the vast improvement we have seen in her since she first arrived.
The staff are very approachable and we feel able to discuss any aspect of mum's care we may have queries over .They always contact us promptly if they have any concerns.

My mother in law first went into the home in august for respite care, since december she has now become a full time resident , the staff are always happy, friendly and will take time out to talk if time , nothing is too much for any of the carers/team leaders , they try to encourage mum to join in
activites, mum has become less mobile and needs more help and they are very good with her, the home is such a lovely place, on some of my visits ive been offered tea/coffee, office staff are friendly and always keep us up to date with any information regarding mum, if i was asked for recommendations for a care home from friends id highly recommend bilton court

For nearly three years, my nan has been cared for at this home, and I honestly cannot express how grateful our family is for the love, reassurance, and dedication they show her every single day. The staff go above and beyond, not just providing care, but creating a true sense of home. It's clear how
happy and comfortable my nan is, and to her, the people who work here feel like family rather than just staff.

A few months ago, after getting married abroad, my nan was unable to make the journey. The care home kindly allowed us to visit her in my wedding suit and my wife's wedding dress. What truly amazed me was how much effort they put into making it a special moment for her. They helped make her feel included in our big day, even laying on food and prosecco so we could all celebrate together. It was incredibly touching and something our family will never forget.

Knowing how happy nan is here gives us real peace of mind, and I truly hope her last memories are of joy an care at westhil.

My Dad has Alzheimer's and came on respite but his health deteriorated slightly and he is now a permanent resident of Overstone House and I'm very glad he is.
The home is modern, more closely resembling a hotel and the staff are very knowledgeable, caring, helpful and very upbeat.
Dad is so much better
overall now he's not trying to struggle on at home on his own and he's much more stimulated mentally too.

My father in law went in as respite but due to some health complications he has decided the best thing to do is to become a permanent resident as he is so happy there. Care staff and care home are amazing and my husband is now relieved to know his dad is being looked after and he now has no worries

Dad entered overstone house as a respite care initially but due to his issues with Alzheimer's, his mobility and his stubbornness he is now a full time resident and is looking better than he has done in years of us trying to care for him at home. He is more than happy with his room the care provided
and the carers, the company of other residents and other residents family members that all interact with him. It really is like one big happy family. As for the staff, the care, the rooms and the actual overall home is truly amazing. As a family we couldn't be happier to rest now knowing dads looked after and actually enjoying being there at overstone house!
