One of the boilers broke down it took four days to fix it. One of the washing machines was not working. It will take 3 1/2 weeks to get it fixed. The black current drink I was given was just coloured water.
I received no advice on how to get back home or to get help to get me back home
Reply from Martha Nhidza, Manager at Marham House Care HomeThank you for taking the time to review Marham House and we're pleased you rate our staff as very good. Thank you for choosing Marham House for your stay and we apologise that we had issues with our boiler and one of our washing machines during your time with us. These issues were resolved as soon we were able to. We supported yourself and other residents with extra blankets and portable heaters and aimed to maintain our laundry service to the best level possible. We aim to provide high quality drinks and meals to suit our residents' tastes and preferences. We're always happy to receive and discuss feedback at Marham House.

I want to share how lovely our experience has been with The Firs care home. My two aunties are residents there, and from the moment you walk in it feels warm, welcoming and truly homely. The staff clearly care deeply about the people they look after. Having worked in care myself, I understand how residents
should be treated, and I can honestly say my aunties are receiving the best possible care. The team are kind, patient and attentive, and it's reassuring to see how comfortable they are.
I've been to a couple of their music events, which are always so fun. We all especially love Shane, who performs there some weeks, and there always seems to be something happening to keep residents entertained and engaged
We're especially grateful to the manager, Colleen, who has been amazing and always makes us feel supported and welcome. We're so grateful to everyone at The Firs for creating such a safe, caring environment. It gives our family real peace of mind. Thank you so much

My contact with Canterbury House was as the daughter of a resident. However I have also had a long career in health and social care, having run several care homes, commissioned residential and nursing home care, and chaired a major NHS Trust.

On choosing a home I was immediately impressed by

the physical environment of Canterbury House, but even more so by the caring and welcoming approach of every member of staff I came into contact with.

Mum was extremely well cared for in a sensitive and dignified manner. In her short final illness this was so important and of great comfort to us as a family.

I would not hesitate to recommend Canterbury House.

We were looking for a care home for our mother and were recommended a few to look at in Sudbury. As soon as we entered St Josephs, we felt it was right. It was light and airy, with wide corridors, a large day room and a pleasant feel to the dining room. All the staff are friendly and welcoming, and
nothing seems to be too much trouble. From carers, admin and management mum receives the best care and although she has not been at St Josephs long, she feels settled and safe and is enjoying her new home. We couldn't ask for more - a big thank you to everyone at St Josephs.

If you want your loved one's to be cared for with the dignity, warmth and compassion they deserve then The Firs care home is the one to send them to. We cannot fault the staff members we have had the pleasure to deal with. Especially the kindness and compassion towards dad and ourselves at his end of
life care will stay with us always. Thank you all.

My mum has been at The Firs care home since August 2020. As a family we are very pleased with the level of care she receives not just by the carers but by housekeeping, cleaners, kitchen staff and maintenance staff as well as the management. She remains content in the midst of her confusion and this
is particularly down to the high level of care she receives. Many thanks.

My mother in law was at Devonshire house for just over 6 years on the Ryder unit, sadly passed away Oct 25.From day 1 we knew that this was the correct place for her. We were all made to welcome, no matter what time we went to visit, sometimes it was 8 o'clock in the evening.,
During her time there
ALL the staff have become like extended family, not only carers but housekeeping and kitchen staff. They all work so extremely hard and go above and beyond.
They had organized a beautiful 'wedding vowel' renewal (fun and beautiful, with a local priest) for my in laws, also a huge family Diamond Wedding Anniversary meal for the whole family, 10 of us. Even time out of their weekend of to decorate the room for us,, For these things ànd numerous other events we will all be forever grateful. We as a family have made some amazing memories that the staff have made possible. Even being a massive support to my father in law, which helped take some of the pressure his children.
100% highly recommend

My Mother has been at Devonshire House for 30 months. It has become her home and she feels really safe, secure and well looked after. She loves the fact that the house is full of character and truly feels like an individual home with warmth and charm. The Carers are superb and always go the extra mile.
It was recently my Mothers birthday and her room was decorated with banners and they even had a cake with a candle that they brought to her room. My Mother is treated with dignity and love which means everything.

The quality of the care here is really good, exceptional to be honest. My wife was here for six years and on the whole I feel it is good value for money. The home is spacious and always smells clean. The grounds are lovely in the summer and the residents enjoying using them. I've always enjoyed my visits
here, I always feel comfortable and part of the family.

St Marys

For the last five years of mum's life she was cared for by the fabulous team at St Mary's Care Home in Holbrook. As Mum lived with Alzheimer's disease she required a significant level of care, which the team at St Mary's adapted, reviewed and revised on a regular basis. There were occasions when we
as a family had concerns for mum's welfare and on each occasion these concerns were dealt with in an empathetic and supportive manner and any necessary changes were implemented. We thank you for listening, and for responding. Mum was placed in care at St Mary's during Covid in 2020, and from the very first moment she arrived she never looked back (literally). We have vivid memories of mum walking through the door and being welcomed to her new home, a place where she felt safe and secure every day. My family and I feel blessed that during the later part of mum's life she was in a warm, secure, safe and loving environment surrounded by a wonderful team of people. St Mary's you are amazing!

My mother has been at Devonshire House for around six months now and is very happy there. The proof of this is that after a recent hospital stay my mother told me that she was looking forward to going back 'home' to Devonshire House. This proved to me that she feels safe, secure and well cared here.
My mother has a beautiful room with outstanding views to the garden. All of the team here are caring and friendly bar none. Mum has been in other care homes but if we were choosing again we would still pick Devonshire House. Bravo.

Whenever I visit my aunt, she is usually having a good time, she's clean and tidy, and she is pleased with most of her meals. The staff are all very patient with her and she tells me she loves them all, especially the young men! The only complaint is that they get her up early in the morning!
Reply from Marco Carvalho, Deputy Manager at St MarysThank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are very pleased to hear Aunt seems happy and loves our team. We all love her very much here. We know Aunt certainly likes to get herself up nice and early, with additional support for personal care. We regularly review all our residents' care plans, and we will be happy to discuss daily routines and all aspects of our care further. Thank you again. Best wishes
