We were so very fortunate that our dearest mum was accepted into your care in November 2025.
The care and kindness Mum received was beyond amazing. Although, sadly, her physical and mental condition declined. We, as a family, were given so much support and comfort until the very end of her death on
6th May 2026. So much respect shown. St Mary's Care Home is a wonderful, friendly and welcoming home. Every member of staff could not have done more for us. You will always hold a special place in our hearts. Keep doing the wonderful job you do.

My Mum spent 6.5 very happy years in Devonshire House. During those years, every single member of staff, from admin, housekeeping, kitchen and care, all encouraged Mum to make the Home her home and live her life as independently as she wanted to.
The staff really cared for Mum, and their attention
to accommodating her needs and wishes was amazing. Mum spent 6 years fully independent, but this year her physical health declined, and she passed away just over a week ago. During the last 3 months, I have spent most days at home with Mum, and I saw for myself the extra mile they all went to ensure that Mum knew she was valued, loved and respected. For the first time in her tenure, Mum needed a lot of physical and mental support. The whole team demonstrated how fond of Mum they were, how much they cared and ensured that she received the necessary clinical care from outside community nursing services. They advocated for Mum 24/7.
It is a truly amazing home for its residents.

My uncle moved into The Firs almost three months ago. He is very comfortable there and looked after extremely well. The staff are all courteous and helpful. As visitors we are always welcomed with a smile. My uncle has a problem with swallowing the kitchen staff always asks how he wants his food served.
It was a big decision to enter into a care home, we know we made the right choice.

Everyone is assured of a warm welcome at The Firs. My non-dementia husband has resided there for 5 months now and some staff have made time to converse and play cards with him. He has gained weight, is less anxious with no wish to return home with me. We are all happy to see him so settled. As a strong
willed man I was worried he would be unhappy but he now seems fine when we all have to leave him behind when we visit. The staff went that extra mile to give us an extra-special day on our 67th wedding anniversary with our family present. The firs is a welcome, safe and cosy home with the accent on care.

Since my mum arrived at Canterbury House in Aug 2025, we have found every member of staff to be so caring to my mum. They genuinely want to help in any way possible and always react to any input from us as family.
It's so clean and maintained beautifully which mum herself regular comments on.
We came
here on a recommendation even though the home is a little further away than we wanted, it's worth the journey!
Would highly recommend! Thank you for looking after my mum so well.

St Joseph's

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
As a chartered surveyor I have inspected many care homes. St.Josephs does not feel like one at all, more like a small hotel for retired gentle folk. I was next of kin for my elderly Aunt who after being widowed decided she'd like to be closer to me than her previous care home. She moved to St.Josephs
in July 2025 and since that day the caring loving environment there lifted a huge weight off our shoulders. A massive stroke in 2019 had rendered my Aunt immobile but that never seemed an issue for the staff, but did mean she did not get the benefit of all the activities that we saw others enjoying, its always a full calendar of events. She has left us now, but the care shown by the staff at the time was just great.

Moving to a care home is a big decision for everyone involved. Marham house recognised this..It is a Beautiful residential home. It is very homely and not clinical at all, which made a big difference with the transition for my Nan. The staff are all so friendly and warming. I would not hesitate to recommend

St Joseph's

My husband spent periods of respite in St Josephs' Gainsborough Wing, which specialises in dementia care, leading to permanent residence until March this year, when he sadly passed away. I would like thank Jacquie, Anne, Debbie, Fran and ALL the staff, from the management down, for their professionalism,
kindness, compassion and understanding. St Joseph's is a special place. When you walk through the door feeling worried, anxious and stressed about finding a suitable place for your loved one to be cared for, you are met by smiling, friendly staff and a warm welcoming atmosphere, and then by Ashley, the heart of the admin team, who is reassuring and understanding. Dementia, as we know, can be very difficult and challenging. The staff at St Joseph's meet it with love, patience, humour and creativity, providing many activities and outings and wonderful and varied menus and treats to enjoy. St Josephs provides residents with an improved quality of life, which is beyond price.

My daughter and I visit our friend and have always been greeted with warmth and care from the staff. All staff are so smiley and kind and we always feel so welcomed when we visit. We are always offered a drink and one of the lounges to sit in and are always well looked after.
Our friend is very happy
at St Joseph's and has made a lovely home for herself in the time she has been living there.
It's really a wonderful place.

Thank you to Jacquie, Ashley and the team for making my aunt's transition to St Joseph's so positive. Moving into care is not an easy decision for a family, but right from the start St Joseph's have been reassuring and kind.
My aunt has settled in very quickly. She has a lovely room and when we call
on the phone, she sounds genuinely happy. Knowing she is safe and surrounded by lots of people who can help her is such a relief. She's made friends, enjoys lots of activities and often says it feels like a lovely hotel, apparently the food is exceptional! The environment is light, airy and well cared for, and the staff are consistently friendly and approachable. Access to a doctor has also been straightforward, which gives real peace of mind. We're very grateful for the care and support shown to both my aunt and our family, it really does make all the difference.

My grandfather has settled in lovely, he says the care provided is second to none. I agree, I visit him regularly and every care giver I meet is happy, friendly and always willing to help. The areas are cleaned regularly and I see the cleaners doing a thorough job. The entertainment for the residents
is so good as well, my grandfather loves the music and singing- always puts a smile on his face. Very improved with the food as well, looks and smells so lovely. No complaints from grandad.

My grandad was forced to move from previous carehome due to them closing. Devonshire House has been so supportive in granting him a move to them assisting is making sure he settled in well and couldn't have made the move any better. He is very happy there says the staff and food are really good. The
staff ensured that what was a difficult time become a really easy transition. We are very happy that a 101yr old gentleman has found a new and comfortable place to be

My mum and I always say how friendly and approachable all the staff are and what a good staff team you have. My mum enjoys having chats with staff every day. We both appreciate how hard you all work and how much you have done to make us feel welcome. Everyone helps to meet my mums needs e.g comfy chair,
window blinds, exercise machine, plants, a fan etc. making sure she has her paper. We are both very very grateful.

My father was in St Joseph's from August 2024 to February 2026. The staff were all friendly and welcoming and definitely made my father feel special. He responded really well to their humour and sense of fun. They were always attentive to his needs and nothing was too much trouble. There is excellent
support throughout and St Joseph's welcomed feedback through relatives meetings. Staff were very good at letting me know about any health concerns and liaised well with paramedics and the hospital when required. The management team were excellent and always accessible and ready to assist with any questions.
