My husband has Dementia and been a resident at The Firs for 18 months. Before he came to The Firs he spent 3 unhappy months in another care home in Felixstowe. I was so very happy when he was accepted to live at The Firs. He loves all the staff who are so kind to him and they also always make me very welcome. The Firs is where I would want to be if the time comes when I too need extra care.

Canterbury House is a Lovely place with high standards of care, and very friendly staff who really care about the residents. There's activities and entertainment they can enjoy on a regular basis. They can also enjoy a bit of pampering- having their nails done, and a hairdresser comes in once a week. Every effort is made to ensure the residents feel happy safe and secure- just a great place all round!

My mum has been a resident for 10months now.

The home is a lovely environment, all her needs and ours are met.

The home is bright,safe and the staff are helpful, kind and cheerful.

It's certainly value for money, and with the environment and staff is a key consideration when choosing at home for your parent.

As a volunteer for The Reader, a national shared reading charity, I have been presenting a weekly poetry reading session at St Joseph's for the past three years. This has been a hugely enjoyable and rewarding highlight of my week. It is a delight to hear residents reading verse impeccably as well as gathering and discussing their insightful reactions to the poems. Many of the residents face challenges of declining mental acuity yet their skill when reading aloud and their enjoyment when sharing vivid memories never ceases to amaze. Jacqui, Ashley and the care staff are kind, supportive, welcoming and friendly. I have made many friends at St Joseph's. It is a privilege to share in the home's weekly activities.

Not somewhere to send a loved one.

My Mother is extremely happy living at Marham House, where she is treated with kindness, respect & dignity. The staff show genuine care for the residents and are always willing to listen to any concerns or worries that relatives may have. The home itself is welcoming, clean and has a cheerful atmosphere, starts with the warm greeting you receive from the reception staff. It gives me a great peace of mind to know that my Mother is somewhere she feels safe, comfortable and well cared for.

My mother is a resident at Devonshire House and is very settled and feels wonderfully looked after. I cannot praise the staff strongly enough who are always welcoming, friendly and above all kind. The staff always go the extra mile in what must, at times, be a challenging job. I am particularly grateful for the way my mother feels secure and safe. The staff have managed to enable her keep her dignity in old age.

My only concern is that the staff receive reflective enumeration for their hard work.

St Mary's provides a safe and caring environment for residents so that I am very confident that my Father is looked after as well as possible. The management of medical and wellbeing care is particularly strong, with detailed, personalised care plans in place, and any concerns noted by either carers or relatives being followed-up quickly. All carers are cheerful and welcoming, and generally go the extra mile to brighten-up the day of residents - they approach my (demanding) Father with great patience and respect. Overall, St Mary's effectively fulfils the two requirements that I had in mind when my Father moved there nearly 5 years ago when (at 98) he was starting to seriously struggle living on his own: 1/ to be kept safe; 2/ to have frequent, daily interaction with others. I welcome this opportunity to say 'thank you!' - I don't like to imagine our life without the support and peace-of-mind that you provide.

Well managed.

Mum moved in around 6 months ago when it became unsafe for her to stay at home. It has been such a weight lifted off our shoulders to have her living at St Marys, her care so far has been faultless. Her room is lovely and kept immaculately clean - as is the rest of the home. Any concerns/questions have been answered quickly & with sensitivity. The staff are all very friendly and have made Mum's transition virtually painless. Thank you for that.

My mum literally 'came alive' after being placed at The Firs on 12 weeks end of life in May 2024! The care and family feel and the incredible warmth Mum felt and me was tear jerkily absolutely brilliant. 'They are family' - wonderful team!

Any concerns have been listened to and resolved very quickly.

Nothing was too much.my mother went to St Joes at a pretty low ebb. After a couple of month her improvement was remarkable and this was all down to the staff and care from the home.

I would definitely recommend this home.

From the initial visit to view the home, my husband moving in when he was discharged from hospital, and every other aspect the staff have all been amazing. Everyone has been so helpful and caring, the Home Manager, admin staff, team leaders, carers, the lovely laundry lady and the maintenance guy. Thank you all so much for taking such good care of John. Canterbury House is a wonderful care home and highly recommended.

My mother came to Marham House because she needed extra support & could not longer live on her own, From the first day the support she has been given has been aexcellent the staff have been 100% & nothing is to much trouble, the only area she has struggled is the food becouse he is celiac & has suger diabeties the home has found it difficult to give her the right food that sustains her. the theam have been very supportive in trying to get this right & hopefully this is now happening. Over all Marham House has a fantastic group of staff who mother really likes. So we are glad we chose you!)

Excellent service

We are very happy in all other respects!

The Firs is one of the best homes I know. On the coffee mornings there was a lot of staff seeing to residents and visitors. The Rooms are lovely. Theres always activities, The home is clean & tidy. Lovely gardens plenty of places to sit, The staff are very friendly and seeing the residents in the garden in the sun is great.
