Overall Experience
My mum has been a residemt for 3 and a half years. The staff at Heather vale are all excellent in there duties and I am so confident she is being looked after and all her needs are being catered for. The building is well looked after and most important clean and tidy, and the gardens are looked after making my mums stay so happy.

Thank you to all the staff.

Overall I am quite satisfied, but I do think the ratio of team leaders to carers is extremely unbalanced. If there were more ordinary staff members, they would be able to spend more time with each resident and tend to their individual needs.

Reply from Jennie Hill, Manager at Heather Vale

Thank you for taking the time to review Heather Vale and we're pleased you rate our facilities as very good. Our Team Leaders support care, as well as Care Assistants. Our staffing levels are calculated using a dependency tool to ensure the best care is always provided. I'm always happy to discuss...

I continue to be very happy with the care received by my mother over the past few months. Moving into care has been a difficult time for her, but the home and the care staff have made it as good as possible, responding positively to her needs and to any concerns that I raise. I visit frequently and have noticed the staff giving individual attention to the many different needs of the residents and treating each of them with respect and dignity.

Thank you

we visited just before lunchtime and were happy with how our relative was taken to the dining room and supervised during the mealtime. food was good. staff seem attentive. our relative would like to go outside more often as she admires the outdoors and enjoyes being in the fresh air. indoor entertainment is good. we were reassured that dementia needs could be met.

Review of Landemere from Erna T (Wife of Resident) published on 15 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My husband has been on respite in Landemere for around 3 weeks now. The care home has a very calm and caring atmosphere. They are trying very hard to involve him in their activities and to find the things that interest him. I feel that they are keeping him safe, and making his stay as happy as possible. I hope very much that the respite stays will be made into a permanent stay.

I gave Heather Vale 5 stars in a review in 2024. I wish I could give them more. Everyone at Heather Vale delivers the highest quality of care. But what makes them special is that they show such warmth and kindness to the residents and relatives.
The home has a beautiful lounge, the rooms are a good size, the gardens are lovely, the food is excellent.
Very good communication, both within the staff teams and with relatives.

I hope they know what a difference they make to people's lives!

Overall Experience

My mum is very well looked after and her room is always clean and tidy. The home itself is spacious, bright and well maintained, with a lovely garden at the back that residents can enjoy.

Family and friends are welcome to visit at any time, and I'm always greeted warmly by the staff when I arrive. Everyone I've met has been friendly, approachable and clearly cares about the residents.

What I appreciate most is how well the staff communicate. If there are ever any medical concerns about my mum, they phone me straight away and keep me fully updated, which gives me real peace of mind.

The food also looks good and appetising, and it's clear that dietary needs are properly considered. Overall, it's a caring and well-run home where residents are treated with kindness and respect.

We feel so lucky that Landmere care home was an option available from our first minute in 2024 up to today. The home, the staff, facilities all exceed our expectations. People like Nina, Toni show true care, compassion when looking after people. I am kept fully informed of medical or personal issues regarding my mum.

My mother was a resident at Heather Vale for 11 months.
The home is clean and bright and my mum's room was a good size and pleasantly decorated.
She made the decisions round her daily routine and had a good choice at meal times.

The care my mum received from the staff was excellent, and I would like to thank all the staff for taking such good care of her.

Review of Landemere from Sharon S (Daughter of Resident) published on 12 January 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

When I visited Landemere I said it has a nice feeling, mum moved 2 mths ago and settled really well. I think this is due to staff being kind, caring and friendly. The meals are amazing, the home is clean and well maintained. Family and friends are made to feel welcome. I visit mum daily and can see mum looks well and happy. She’s got nice relationships with the staff that care for her, when visitors ask how she likes living here she says its like “home from home”. Things are not always perfect but on the whole its really good. It all goes back to that "nice feeling when you walk in”.

Review of Landemere from Mark D (Son of Resident) published on 2 January 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mum moved to Landemere July 2025 after ill health. She'd had some years of carers and family looking after her at home but still felt lonely and wanted company, people to interact with on a daily basis.
Our family helped my mum to visit a few care homes but the moment my mum walked into Landemere she said it 'felt like home'.
All the staff made my mum feel welcome, and residents made an effort to talk to my mum on that visit.
It took a few weeks for mum to settle in but now there's a routine, activities daily and my mum as made a few friends but already has a best friend that she regularly chats with.
My family are so happy we don't have to worry about my mum getting medication or meals anymore and that she's in the safe hands of lovely caring staff.

Our mum gets regular visits and as all her needs catered for.

Review of Heather Vale from Phillip A (Friend of Resident) published on 24 December 2025 Submitted via Postal Card

I cannot express how delighted I am in recommending this care home. The love and care given to all the residents is exemplary. I have never heard a harsh word from any of the staff. I see lots of love and hugs dished out to each and every resident, along with lots and lots of laughs and encouragement. I have noticed the staff take time to explain and calm residents when using the lifting aid or any other processes they carry out. The rooms are comfortable, and everywhere is very clean.
