My dad is currently residing at hurst park , from the moment my dad arrived hurst park he was made to feel welcome , it always a very difficult decision when looking for a care home for your loved ones , my dad has settled really well and I put that down to the staff , they are always happy and very
caring, lots of the residents have different needs but the staff are always very obliging and nothing is too much trouble . I would recommend this care home .

Mum has been at wonderful Sandstones for 18 months now since breaking her hip at home.
Initially it was for 6 weeks rehab after being in hospital for 3 months due to complications so after several recommendations and with mums agreement she went to stay at Sandstones .
It took mum about 6 months
to settle down into life here after being a fiercely independent woman but it was apparent to her and our family that we could not manage her physical and emotional needs especially as we are all getting older !!.
The team in every department help mum 24/ 7 with her needs and she gets involved in the various activities and outings as she has the mental capacity to engage but needs support with her mobility especially as she regularly has lots of family and friends visiting
As a family we would like to thank the whole team at Sandstones allowing us to have quality time with our lovely mum xx

My lovely Aunt has been a resident in Sandstones for over 3 years, I visit regularly 3-4 times a week and I have come to know the staff and I'm forever grateful for the care and attention they give to her and to the other residents. It has a small friendly atmosphere, the staff are attentive and I
can discuss readily any concerns that may arise. They do deal with the residents as individuals and with understanding for their needs.
Ben and all the staff including ancillary and kitchen, are to be commended as they all genuinely care about the residents, and their welfare. They are always welcoming when I visit.
It is so important to us as a family to know she is safe and cared for by the Sandstone team.

My Mum has been a resident at Sandstones now for several years, the staff and management can not do enough for residents. The staff are up beat and know the individual needs of the residents well. Sandstones thrives to provide a home where everyone is treated with respect and this is obvious daily.

There are not enough words to describe the amazing caring staff at Sandstones
Never did I envisage I would need this for my husband and to hand him over from a very loving family was incredibly hard, but I wished I knew then what I know now and it would have been so much easier.
He has gone from
one wonderful family to another, the care and respect and kindness shown has overwhelmed us.
We as a family looked at 11 care homes before this one and every day we count ourselves very lucky to have found it

I find the staff approachable and professional. The care and personal attention Mum receives is excellent. I have agreed for mum's room to be locked during the day when she is in the lounge, but this is not always happening.
Generally, the staff and team leaders act on what I raise with them, and they
are good at communicating with me and the rest of the family.
I would like to thank them for giving me peace of mind.
Would be good to have more regular relatives meetings.

Hurst Park is a marvellous Care Home. From the bright lounges with the colourful fish tanks to the quiet rooms, wide corridors and excellent staff. Noreen a member of the care team is super sweet to my Mum who always says to me that "the girls/nurses are good" Samantha Hanger the Administrator has brilliant
communication skills and is quick to respond to matters or concerns efficiently. Sam is the reason why my Mum lives in Hurst Park. She was helpful and caring during the process of looking for a home for Mum. There's a few more carers that I wish to commend but I can't recall their names. Those of you looking after Rita, thanks so much. You are appreciated. The rooms are fabulous too. They're ensuite and this provides independence and dignity to residents. There's a newsletter too that informs families about the diverse range of activities and life at Hurst Park. Thank you for your excellent team effort in caring for people and giving families reassurance and peace of mind.

would not recommend this care home for anyone with Alzheimer's or dementia. It appears only suitable for residents who are happy to sit quietly and watch TV.
As dementia progresses, the home seems to look for ways to remove residents rather than support them. This includes issuing eviction notices,
exaggerating incidents, and poor communication with families. I am aware of this happening to at least three residents.
My mum was served with an eviction notice due to end on CHRISTMAS DAY, later extended to 7 January, which was extremely distressing. Night staffing was inadequate, with only two staff covering the entire floor, and when my mum struggled to settle at night, she was treated as a problem rather than someone needing care.
The care home manager showed no empathy or support and refused to rearrange meetings despite my role as my mum's RPR (DoLS). On the day we removed my mum, her belongings were left in bin bags by the main door, how degrading for my 80 year old Mum ! STAY CLEAR

I find Thomas Henshaw Court to be a warm, cosy, comfortable residence. The flat my mum lives in is self contained, spacious & clean I have never found another residence to compare with what is offered here. Staff are wonderful, friendly & light hearted. Nothing is too much trouble. Mum is encouraged
to go down & mix with her fellow residents but if she prefers, can stay in her room & has food brought to her. I feel I can leave her here knowing she is safe & well looked after, with dignity.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Our experience of Birkenhead Court is overwhelmingly positive. We have been able to relax knowing that my Grandma is safe, warm, well-fed, and cared for by genuine, caring people. The carers are all compassionate, approachable and doing the job for the right reasons.
Our requests are always handled
respectfully. We can visit anytime, and my Grandma always looks clean and presentable.
The home itself is spotless, smells clean, and the rooms are always immaculate and tidy. The beds are changed very frequently, and all of my Grandma's laundry is clean and fresh.
The management is approachable and knowledgeable, nothing is too much trouble, and we have always been able to contact them to check on my Grandma.
The biggest challenge is seeing your loved one decline, but it's slightly easier knowing she is in safe hands in a loving care home like Birkenhead Court.

A very clean well run establishment. The staff are professional and caring. Our mother was frail and under weight when she arrived at Upton Grange, after spending 7 weeks in hospital. She us gaining weight steadily. Other residents have told me they l've being there, the food is excellent and they are
well cared for. I can second that, This is a home from home for the residents and our mum. We are happy they were able to accommodate her.

Please dont send your loved one to Hurst Park. Dont be fooled by the lovely decor. This care home is notorious for when your loved one becomes a little troublesome ( they have dementia) they do all they can to have them moved. They have just evicted my 80 year old elderly mum 2 days before Christmas,
that tells you all you need to know. They dont know the meaning of the word care. They are currently under new management who tried to stir trouble between siblings. They ring u in the middle of the night saying your loved one wont go to bed, but once you arrive af 1am there are no bed sheets on their bed and your loved one has bruises on her wrists. I could go on and on, but dont say youve not been warned. Think really hard before you decide to leave your loved one here.
Reply from Karen Garner, Manager at Hurst Park CourtThank you for your review. The health and wellbeing of our residents is always our primary concern. From our first contact with Hurst Park, we were met with professionalism, care and respect. The moving-in process was swift and full of the love that we always feel when we visit Mum. She receives the best care each and every day and night - we know this from our numerous visits at any time, unannounced
and from the relaxed smile on Mum's face. The whole building is spotless, food is excellent, and the staff, we feel, are quickly becoming friends. Mum enjoys her new home at Hurst Park, and I would recommend it to everyone. Thank you.

My mother celebrated a significant birthday which the care home went above and beyond in providing a celebratory tea for all the residents (and family members) and a superb entertainer. The staff were absolutely brilliant. They always are. They made her day very special from start to finish.
The
care they show and how they look after my mother is a joy. Could not be bettered.
