Sandstones in Wallasey is situated within a mile of the River Mersey estuary on the Wirral. The home provides residential and dementia care for up to 35 customers in homely and comfortable single ensuite rooms and continues to welcome new residents.

What can I say about Sandstones, the staff are all brilliant, they go out of their way to make residents and family feel at home and safe. Everyone is treated individually and with respect. Staff know residents' preferences and dislikes, they are always upbeat, professional and caring. The staff appear
happy and comfortable in their roles, this I think is due to approachable and professional management. Well done Anchor you have an amazing team at Sandstones.

It wasn't an easy decision to put Dad into nursing care and we looked into various places, Sandstones had wonderful reviews and we now know why.

My husband has been in Sandstones Care Home since May 2024. Right from the start the staff were helpful, caring and understanding it's not easy when someone you love can't be cared for at home any more but the management and staff have made it easier to accept. They have become part of our family and
we thank them for that they are always available when needed service with a smile.

We moved my mum into Sandstones after having to move her from another home where she had been happy. However, finances meant we had to move her in March 2024. The support to enable her to settle was second to none. Staff were always on hand to support her and us as a family. She is really happy, loves
the room that she has and really feels like she is in her own home. The food is really excellent care and support are fantastic and communication between the home and our family is excellent. Thank you to all staff you are stars!

Staff have been very proactive and kind to my mother who is a resident at Sandstones. Their patience and caring are evident both with my mum who is experiencing worsening symptoms of dementia and the care displayed daily I see in the lounge to other residents. Excellent reliable lovely team.

My mother-in-law has been here for almost 2 years and we are so happy we chose Sandstones. The staff really are excellent. The care she has received as her condition has worsened is second to none. She and the other residents are very well cared for and there seems a genuine bond between the staff and
residents. There always seems to be something going on and my wife and I are made to feel very welcome on our frequent visits. We are on first-name terms with all the staff. The food looks (and smells) very good, I heard a resident comment that she felt like she was in a 5-star hotel. There is a lovely garden area which has been maintained by the staff, some in their own time. We just need a little more sun to enjoy it more!

My mum just passed tonight and I can't thank the amazing staff for all they did for me and the rest of the family, I saw how much they loved her and she loved them, they took so much care of my mum and us they made sure we had everything any time we asked. Everyone was there when we needed to talk ask
questions and hugs, I'm so glad that the time my mum was there and of her passing she was very very happy and content and all the staff there was the reason why.
Words can't really explain the immense pride that we have of the staff and everything they did. My mum and I will miss them all and thank you all for everything you did for my mum and us.
Again words can't express how really amazing the staff were our family will be forever grateful to them.

The staff at Sandstones are amazing! They have been so caring and friendly to my mum and have always made me feel welcome and free to visit her any time I wish. Over the time she has been with them, she has been well cared for with her health needs monitored and personal preferences discussed. Some
members of staff have gone above and beyond in helping her and making her smile. If at any point I have needed to discuss her care with management, they have responded to my enquiries efficiently and with good outcomes. It is reassuring as a relative to know she is safe and has somebody on hand 24/7 for help if required. Thank you team Sandstones for your kindness and hard work.

All of the staff here deserve a medal. It takes very special people to care for others. Without exception, all of the staff are wonderful and caring. My dad is 90 with health issues but at last, I can sleep at night knowing he is getting the care and attention he needs. He was very poorly when he first

I have been visiting my brother since May 2023 and there has always been a lovely atmosphere here at Sandstones. I see different members of staff and all are polite, helpful and welcoming. I believe that a happy place with happy staff and residents is a sure sign of excellent management. My brother's

I feel confident that Mum is well cared for and that staff will alert me to any issues. The staff appear to be kind and treat Mum with dignity. The only thing I feel may need to be worked on is some of the activities, such as watching a film or having afternoon tea, because these are part of the usual
routine anyway, not additional. Also, I was hoping the residents might be taken out sometimes, otherwise, excellent.

Since moving into Sandstones, Mum has become more social, chatty and generally happier due to the encouragement of staff to interact with others. I have witnessed the staff with many residents, and they know them all and treat them and their individual needs with real care and compassion, always with
a smile, even in difficult circumstances. The environment and all staff are always welcoming, and visiting is a pleasure, often with grandchildren and pets. I am now more relaxed knowing Mum is safe and happy. Thank you to all Sandstones staff.
