My mum who has Alzheimer's moved into Thomas Henshaw court a few days ago so early days but from the moment she arrived I can't praise the staff enough. Each and every one of them has welcomed her with open arms, full of smiles and ready to help with anything. Her room is lovely and spacious with great views outside and she has a little lounge area and kitchen of her own for if she wants to be alone. Lots of activities going on and there is a large garden areas with chickens!!

After a lengthy hospital stay my brother needed a place to support him, whilst allowing him to retain his independence. After a search of care homes in the area it seemed like Thomas Henshaw Court was the perfect fit, The individual flats are well thought out, bright and spacious and the communal areas are clean and welcoming. My brother has a a large bed/sitting room, a small kitchen with sink, fridge, microwave and kettle, and a generous wet room.
Since the beginning of his residency he has been supported, cared for and wonderfully well looked after by the incredible staff. His special dietary needs have been met, his medications overseen and his other support needs have been handled with great attention to detail and kindness.

My brother has now lived at Thomas Henshaw Court for many years, he considers it his home and the staff are like his extended family. We are very grateful to know he is safe and has all the support he needs.

After having to look for somewhere for my mum to to be cared for was a daunting process. It wasn't easy letting go of everything I was used too and putting my trust into a home with staff who didn't know mum.
How can you find the right home with good staffing numbers which covered her care needs as well as an activity program. How can you pack a life time of belongings into 1 room and have your own bathroom with walk in shower and kitchette and how could I trust somewhere wash and iron her clothes like I did.
Thomas Henshaw Court has exelled my expectations and it's hard to put into words how I feel.
ALL staff are dedicated compassionate and caring and go above and beyond and are there for both mum and me. Mum gets cuddles, banter, laughs, outings, activities, lovely food, perfectly laundered clothes and reassurance when she's upset and confused.

Every time I walk out of Thomas Henshaw I think how lucky I am that my precious mum is in the right place.

I went to the care home to celebrate Mother's Day this year, with my mum who is a resident there, she has dementia so taking her out with my young children, can be very stressful. The staff put on the most amazing celebration, the dining room was beautifully decorated, we had a lovely high tea, with table service and lots of treats. It was so relaxing, I only had to turn up and everything was done for us. There was even a gift for every resident on their table, there was a table reserved for those who had booked, it was like going out to a fancy restaurant but better, as mum was safe and relaxed and we could all just enjoy our time together. The staff are incredible so hard working with so much energy, I don't know how they do it, they genuinely love their job. Thank you to all the staff for putting the event on and working so hard to make it special for everyone, I really appreciate it and had the best time and we will definitely be booking next year if it's on.

I find Thomas Henshaw Court to be a warm, cosy, comfortable residence. The flat my mum lives in is self contained, spacious & clean I have never found another residence to compare with what is offered here. Staff are wonderful, friendly & light hearted. Nothing is too much trouble. Mum is encouraged to go down & mix with her fellow residents but if she prefers, can stay in her room & has food brought to her. I feel I can leave her here knowing she is safe & well looked after, with dignity.

Thomas Henshaw Court have been fantastic at looking after mother after a very difficult couple of months for her. Initially very resistant to going into care she now regularly joins in with the many activities on offer and nothing seem too much trouble for the staff. All staff members are caring and always cheery, with enormous patience and kindness. We could not be happier with the care that mum is receiving.

My sister (97) is very happy at the above. She is extremely well cared for. Loves all the staff and carers. Also she still has good eyesight, speech, so in encouraged by the staff to join in things. Altogether we couldn't have found a better home. I am her P.A.O so wanted the best. She fully agrees with this.

As a family we cannot speak too highly of the care my mother has received, especially so when she was poorly recently. I know she considers all the staff as her friends, who always have time for a chat or kind word. She is happy in her new 'home' where she feels safe, secure and valued. Personally, as a frequent visitor, I am greeted warmly and with respect. Unlike other homes I have visited, Thomas Henshaw has a warm and homely atmosphere which is evident as soon as the door is open.

When viewing the home we were shown a room which we really liked and was advised was free. When being admitted, my relative was given a different room which was not as nice and requires painting urgently. We were not advised until we visited that the room had been changed.

On entering, the staff are very friendly and welcoming to me, also they engage with residents one to one on a daily basis. They are caring, genuine, hard-working staff, always have a smile too. Nothing is too much trouble. Room for Dad is kept clean and clothes washed regularly, food is excellent and always smells good. Any queries I have are always answered helpfully by the office staff. Overall happy for my dad to be living at Thomas Henshaw Court and he is happy too.

My mum joined the care home in January. Since moving in, she has settled in well. The staff are friendly and very supportive of her and acknowledge her needs. Her room is lovely and spacious and she particularly likes it as she can entertain visitors regularly. In February there was a Covid outbreak, so there weren't many activities taking place which was disappointing but understandable. The food is excellent with plenty of choice. Mum really enjoys meal times!

I find the staff at Thomas Henshaw Court Care Home to be friendly and helpful and work to ensure the safety of my mum, when things do go off plan, I found they do what they can to correct it. The main plus is knowing she has assistance on hand if required 24/7.

The manager and the team can't do enough for Mum. The care and compassion for the residents is second to none. The home is well decorated, the rooms are very comfortable and large as well as being spotlessly clean. I can't recommend Thomas Henshaw Court Care Home highly enough.
