Thomas Henshaw Court

The manager and the team can't do enough for Mum. The care and compassion for the residents is second to none. The home is well decorated, the rooms are very comfortable and large as well as being spotlessly clean. I can't recommend Thomas Henshaw Court Care Home highly enough.

My husband has been in Thomas Henshaw Court Care Home since August 2022 and I have nothing but praise, lovely room and great staff.

I think the standard has gone down over the last years at the home. I realise staffing is a problem.

My sister and I are delighted with the care that Thomas Henshaw Court staff have given to our mother since she joined them two months ago. She has plenty of support and mental stimulation, with easy access to a lovely lounge and pretty garden. The care home is clean, the food is excellent and, above all, all the staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. She described Thomas Henshaw Court as smashing!

Always found the staff hardworking, pleasant and approachable. If any problems they are usually pro-active.

There is also a good social element. It's comforting to know he is not socially isolated.

My father has recently been off-colour - the care my father has received from all staff at Thomas Henshaw has been outstanding. Not only do they act professionally, they give care with kindness. All the staff are so lovely with my dad (and myself). I'm so glad I chose Thomas Henshaw for him.

The staff are always friendly and patient with both residents and their visitors. They raise concerns in a calm and helpful manner. Throughout Covid, they have contacted residents' families to keep them up to date.

Mum moved into Thomas Henshaw Court in August 2021, initially for respite, then on a permanent basis. We are very pleased with the kindness and high standards of care that Mum has received from all staff. The home has faced many challenges with Covid, we have been supported to maintain our close relationships with Mum via a portal, phone calls and safe visits. Mum says the food is very good; she loves the size and aspects of her room with a kitchenette to make herself a drink or snack. Thomas Henshaw Court has a feeling of warmth, kindness and compassion, always has a "buzz" about it. There are regular checks by staff throughout the day to bring Mum a cuppa, remind her to go down for meals, draw the curtain in the late afternoon, often just to say hello. Mum has participated in cake baking; she has enjoyed dancing, singing with the lovely musical couple who have recommenced their special afternoons. Mum was delighted to go on a trip out to the lights with a fish and chip supper. As a family, we are very happy and grateful that Mum is supported to maintain as much of her independence as possible in a safe and caring environment.

Mum has been very content since moving to Thomas Henshaw Court. The staff are all kind and friendly and responsive when Mum has been unwell. Overall, I am extremely pleased and have confidence that Mum is well cared for.

As a family, we are very pleased with Thomas Henshaw Court. My aunt has been very happy there - we never expected she would not want to go home. That is the best commendation I can give.

The staff are very easy to deal with. They contact me if needed and are always friendly in their service.

My aunt has been a resident of Thomas Henshaw Court for the best part of 30-year., She came back in the day of "home for the blind". She has always been so settled and happy with you. She feels staff are part of her family. Our family is very small - so this means a lot. You have given her fun and joy. You comforted her when her brother, my dad, died in 2007. You always make us feel welcome. She is safe, and she is loved at Henshaw. Thank you.

Show so much care and attention to residents, it's as if they are their own family. My dad received such good care here and was always treated with dignity and respect.

Excellent across the board.

Thomas Henshaw Court is a very welcoming and caring establishment. All the staff have a great rapport with the residents who are totally respected and provided with great care. The residents' rooms and the home's facilities are excellent. The residents also have access to well-maintained grounds at all times. Following a stroke, my father's well being, self-esteem and happiness were improved considerably while at Thomas Henshaw Court.

My son is happy and settled and his health problems are taken in his stride. The staff are really good - caring and proactive.
