All staff very friendly and helpful to me as well as my wife (the resident). I was called every time my wife needed the ambulence (health condition) and helped to look after us. I will always be grateful to them all. My wife has just passed away after a short time at this place (3 1/2 month) they are all understanding is second to none I could not fault any of them in any way.

We could not have found a better care home for mum to spend her final year. The staff are excellent, kept us well informed and treated mum with dignity and respect. All of the staff were approachable and friendly and I truly felt that they had mum's best interests at heart as much as I did. I cannot thank the staff at The Cedars enough for the way they took care of mum throughout her time there.

Overall Experience

My mum has been at the Cedars for just under 12 months. During that time all staff seemed to go above and beyond to try and make her stay as comfortable as possible. Nothing is too much trouble. My mum was always very well presented whenever family visited. The Cedars never had that bad odour that permeates, like many Care Homes. It is very clean and looked after as are the residents. The residents interact well with the staff and entertainment is provided intermittently. All staff give the impression that they enjoy their job from from the Cleaner and Cook to Management. I had the opportunity to stay and join my mum for a meal at the home and I was very impressed by the quality and presentation. It was a very difficult adjustment for my mum to move into residential care, but she couldn't of gone anywhere nicer than the Cedars, where they treated her with both care and respect and I would happily recommend their care to others.

Review of Maple Tree Court from L F (Friend of Resident) published on 12 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card

I have visited Maple Court weekly to visit a friend who has resided there for approximately three years. I have always found it a very comfortable place. The staff are very friendly and supportive of all the residents giving them their time, which is most important. The surroundings are clean and well organised, giving all the residents a sense of security. I feel that it is a very special place for all the residents who are not able to live alone.

It's a place where my/our mother/ we know is being cared for in a dignified and respectful way. A place to call 'home' with residents and carers who seem to know each other, in other words, somewhere it's proven to be a very caring place to be.

Review of The Cedars from J A (Daughter of Resident) published on 10 February 2026 Submitted via Postal Card

The Cedars continue to provide a high level of care and support to my mother within the care environment. Over the past couple of months my mother's physical health has been very unstable and the communication from the staff to keep me informed has been excellent, as well as their communication with appropriate medical services/interventions as required. I am extremely happy with the care she receives.

Since visiting my friend at Maple Tree Court I can honestly say that the cleanliness care and support of residence is second to none. The social areas and public areas are clean bright and inviting. The residence rooms and ensuite are cleaned daily to a very high standard making it very homely. In my opinion the home is run to a very high standard where care staff and management are focused on the home from home experience for residence.

My neighbour has been at The Cedars for a few weeks now. She is settling in and getting to know the staff and residents. There is plenty of room for the various activities that are provided and that she is enjoying too. All the staff are helpful, supportive and go out of their way to help in any way. Thank you to all of them for their dedication to the care and provision of the residents.

Review of Park Hall from D H (Daughter of Resident) published on 7 October 2025 Submitted via Postal Card

Dad was only with you for a few months but Park Hall was our first choice when we were looking for a residential setting. We liked the way that the home is split into smaller, more personal units, with the atrium and the 'pub' for alternative social areas. Dad loved sitting in the atrium in the sunshine, he enjoyed the food and got on well with his carers. We were happy with his care and the response to anything we raised.

Review of Chesterton Lodge from Sue A (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 2 October 2025 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

Feeling frightened, angry and disappointed on arrival to Chesterton Lodge (about leaving her own home & hospital) My mother-in-law soon settled into her 'new home'. 2 days later the words 'it's lovely here, they bring you your food, everyone's king. They wash my clothes and they bring them back the next dasy, I've had my hair done, it's like a hotel'. Wow! How reassuring/comforting it was for her family to hear her speak. My mother-in-law's needs have been met, staff always available to discuss, listen and act to any concerns, arranging medical care for a skin condition, arranging an optometrist to check her vision. We are so relieved and happy to see her so settled. As she continues to stay at Chesterton Lodge we now hope that with encouragement she will become less reluctant to refuse and being to participate in the enrichment activities planned/available. Thank you everyone for welcoming her into the home and making such a positive difference for us all. xx

Review of Chesterton Lodge from Diane M (Sister-in-law of Resident) published on 29 September 2025 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My sister in law is receiving excellent care at Chesterton Lodge. There is a welcoming atmosphere when we visit and the staff are mostly pleasant and approachable. The home is clean and comfortable and the staff go to a great deal of trouble to decorate it beautifully for celebrations. Mealtimes are well organised and, on reading the menu, I can see that the meals are well balanced and nutritious. Communication from the home is very good. I would certainly recommend Chesterton Lodge.
