Anchor’s The Cedars in Holden Bridge is a purpose-built care home, providing care within a comfortable and relaxing environment. The home has 42 single rooms with en suite wet rooms, fitted furniture and a telephone point as standard.

The Cedars provides residential and residential dementia care, which is personally tailored to meet the individual needs of customers and enhance their quality of life. Meals are cooked freshly on-site each day and reflect residents' dietary requirements and tastes. The home continues to welcome new residents.

The care team works with customers and their loved ones to create detailed care plans to ensure each individual’s health and care needs are continually met. The home provides dementia care and provides on-going training to care staff, ensuring their approach always reflects best practice.

Anchor is England’s largest provider of housing and care for those over 55 years of age and has 60 years of experience as a not-for-profit provider of services to older people. Anchor reinvests the money made into their retirement properties and care homes, to continually raise standards to provide a high-quality service to surpass the customer’s expectations.

Mum resident for 3 months - has received excellent care. Staff are kind, attentive and genuinely interested in their residents and their well-being. Home is clean + tidy but homely at same time. We are very pleased.

My sister and my brother-in-law are in a lovely place here, and such a happy place. They are very well looked after indeed and couldn't be in a better place. I enjoyed the singer who was performing all the pop songs from yesteryear.

Most of the time, she is happy and content. Mostly sits in the lounge but then wants to go in room until we leave, then she goes back into the lounge.

I find the staff friendly and they look after every resident at the home. Home-cooked food very tasty. Lovely activities are booked for entertainment. The new activity room opened by the Lord Mayoress is a great idea. Also any problem or concern, I go and see the management, and it all gets sorted straight
away.

Mum to came to The Cedars in July 2023 after a long stay in hospital. The transfer was excellent. Mum has been treated beautifully over the last 12 months, we can not fault the care she is given. All the carers have helped her settle in. She quickly made friends with a few of the residents. She enjoys
the entertainment that is put on and joins in with most of the activities. It has all made what was a difficult decision for us a lot easier, and we can relax knowing that she has the care she now needs.

My mum has just passed her year at Cedars and has just about settled. Like everyone with dementia, she still thinks she's going home, but the family just brush it off now. I know it is a care home and have to keep costs down but it could be a bit less clinical with curtains and bedding. Instead of having
all the same colour, what about different colours or some pattern. Do more activities, with residents in some rooms. My mum says she gets bored just sitting.

We encourage our residents to personalise their rooms so they are as they wish and would be happy to look at changing your mum's room. We have recently opened our Active Lounge and offer a range of activities on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Activities are arranged with our residents' input, as well as one-to-one time. We respect residents' wishes when they don't wish to participate. I'm happy to discuss all aspects of care at The Cedars at a mutually convenient time.
