The Manor House Harrogate

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My father came for respite care to give my mother a rest. All staff were welcoming, supportive and extremely kind and he was made to feel at ease straight away. His room was lovely, with little welcome gifts left for him. Dad made some social connection with staff and residents and really enjoyed his
time at The Manor House. He was happy well looked after and it worked perfectly for us as a family. We will be doing again.
Reply from Stephanie Foulds, Home Manager at The Manor House HarrogateThank you so much for taking the time to share such a lovely review. We are delighted to hear that your father felt welcomed, comfortable, and well cared for during his stay with us, and that the respite care gave your mother the rest she needed.
It's wonderful to know he enjoyed his room, the small welcome touches, and the social connections he made with both staff and other residents. Creating a safe, supportive, and friendly environment for our residents and their families is very important to us, so your kind words truly mean a great deal to the whole team.
We're so pleased that the experience worked perfectly for your family, and we look forward to welcoming your father back again in the future. Thank you once again for your trust and recommendation.

We were very impressed with the quality of provision and care provided by the Manor House throughout our mother's time there. It is lovely well equipped home - my mother particularly enjoyed the café - and is ideally located near the Valley Gardens in Harrogate. Sadly her stay was all too brief, but
the respect, kindness and consummate professionalism of the all the staff in her last few days made a very difficult time for us much more bearable, and ensured her passing was as comfortable and peaceful as possible.
Reply from Stephanie Foulds, Home Manager at The Manor House HarrogateThank you for sharing such a thoughtful and heartfelt review. We are deeply sorry for your loss and are honoured that we were able to care for your mother during her time with us.
We are very pleased to hear that you found The Manor House to be a welcoming and well-equipped home, and that your mother especially enjoyed the caf and surroundings. Most importantly, your kind words about the respect, kindness, and professionalism shown by our team in her final days mean a great deal to us. Supporting residents and their families with dignity, comfort, and compassion at such an emotional time is at the very heart of what we do.
Thank you again for your trust and for taking the time to leave this review. Our thoughts remain with you and your family.

My wife has been here >3m. She has been helped throughout her transitions, as have I. Your staff is your strength, though we have no fault to find in your excellent organisation & facilities. Seperation after 66 years marriage is no neat, but her now living in Mill House where I am welcomed daily visiting
has done us both good. Thank you.

I am so glad my mum came to live in The Mill House as a resident. I keep telling my friends and family Mum is living in a fantastic care home, in fact it's like being in a 5-star care hotel. The facilities are second to none, with the residents' rooms well kitted out. The staff are very friendly and
caring, you as relatives feel like being part of a family.

I can not praise the staff at Borrage highly enough. They treat mum with kindness, patience and humour. She considers them to be a 2nd family. They make sure that I know everything that is going on I should make a mention of how well they handled the recent fire and how they cared afterwards, both for
mum and me.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Mum has been at Borrage house for nearly 2 and a half years. She is 92. She has dementia and my very frail Dad could not care for her. Since she arrived in Borrage house Mum has been happy and well cared for. I am a Registered Manager in Health and Social Care and I recognise that Borrage House is well
run and caring and that residents are treated with dignity and given choice. Those residents with dementia are well cared for and there are enough staff on hand to ensure full support and to meet needs as they arise. The food served is well cooked and tasty and the laundry service good. Mums bedroom is always tidy and clean and is comfortable.
Borrage House is clean, well decorated and comfortable. It is evident that the staff care about the environment as well as the residents. It is a home not an institution. There are clearly some very good staff some of whom are very experienced. Mum moving to Borrage House was a big step but has been an excellent move overall.

My father Tony has been in the care of Mill House since Dec 2024. His care has been excellent & consistently we recieve updates on his health + happiness. My dad will tell you himself the carers have been chosen for their caring nature, inteligence, brilliant work ethic and immaculate turn out. Dad
mentions on a daily basis just how excellent certain members of staff have been towards him. The definately raise his spirits!
Reply from Sharleen Polley, Home Manager at The Mill HouseThank you so much for taking the time to share this wonderful review.
We are truly delighted to hear that your father has felt so well cared for since joining us in December 2024. Knowing that he feels supported, uplifted, and comfortable means everything to our team.
Your kind words about our carers-their warmth, intelligence, work ethic, and professionalism-will mean a great deal to them. They take real pride in providing compassionate, person-centred care, and it's lovely to hear that their efforts are noticed.
We're also pleased that the regular updates about his wellbeing help you feel reassured and connected. Supporting families is just as important to us as supporting residents.
Thank you again for sharing your experience. We'll make sure your feedback is passed on to the team, who will be thrilled to know the positive impact they're having on your dad's day. If there's ever anything more we can do to support him-or you-please don't hesitate to let us know.

My Dad moved into Firth House after a short illness in hospital and he was no longer able to live independently.
The staff and management there were super helpful in assisting with his transfer from hospital to Firth House.
Once he was in there the love, care and support he received was second to
none. Every single member of staff looked after him well.
Sadly Dad passed away soon after moving in. We would have loved his care in Firth House to have been for longer. The Firth House team were like his extended family and I felt the same when my Mum lived there previously too. Thank you to all the staff at Firth House.
