My mother has been looked after by The Manor House at Harrogate for seven years, and the throughout all that time the care and support has been exemplary. The staff have become her family, not just support staff, and have always shown an interest in her and her life. My family has always been made welcome
when visiting and have been invited to the several activities taking place regularly.

Mum just passed away after 5 years at the Manor House, Duchy floor, then Chesters, age 96.
We particularly wanted to say thankyou to everyone on the team (shout out for Kelly and Tom, so caring and supportive) who looked after Mum. We have been confident throughout that Mum was well cared for, and
we are so grateful for that. To us, the criteria has always been 'would Dad have approved' of the arrangements that we made for Mum. That's a resounding yes, which is a great comfort.
So this is a simple but heartfelt thankyou, then, for all your care, keep up the good work.

I came to visit my dad, and it was nice to see him sitting in the lounge area looking comfortable and well cared for. The staff are very friendly and caring, and I have had nothing but good experiences and good interactions with all the staff I've met that have cared for my dad. It is a real weight
off my mind to know he is so well looked after. Thank you.

If you want to see how a care home should be run then look no further than Borrage House. The management and staff are kind and competent, doing a tough job with humour and patience. My relative, for whom I hold Power of Attorney, has settled in well since her admission in January 2026, and my wife
and I are pleased we chose Borrage House in every respect. The building isn't flashy, it simply has a friendly, down-to-earth, efficient atmosphere from the moment you walk in the front door. Wholeheartedly recommended.

An Exemplary Care Home - Manor House were incredible. My Dad needed respite care after hospital and had complex needs. The staff were professional and committed to the highest level of care, and they helped me with him on the same day I contacted them. I am so grateful. The building is beautiful,
like an upmarket hotel, with a delightful cafe that Dad and visitors enjoyed being in. Can't fault it!!
Reply from Stephanie Foulds, Home Manager at The Manor House HarrogateThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and generous review. It truly means a great deal to all of us at Manor House.
We are delighted to hear that your father's respite stay met your expectations and that our team were able to support you both so quickly during what can often be a challenging time. Providing professional, compassionate care for people with complex needs is something our staff take enormous pride in, and it's wonderful to know their commitment made a positive difference to your experience.
It's also lovely to hear that you and your father enjoyed the surroundings and our caf - we aim to create a warm, welcoming environment where residents and their families feel comfortable and able to spend quality time together.
Your kind words will be shared with the whole team, who will be incredibly encouraged by your feedback.
Thank you again for your trust and recommendation.

I am so pleased we found Borrage House!
Mum has settled in so quick and it's great to see her getting involved in the activities and social gatherings.
The staff at Borrage are just fabulous, nothing is ever too much, the whole vibe since day 1 is 'this not our home, it's the resident's home' family
and friends are always made welcome, with a flexible open door policy. Thanks for all you do, it's appreciated.

Dad received excellent care during his respite stay. The staff were all extremely patient and caring. The room was immaculate and the room was comfortable with a lovely view of the courtyard. The menu was impressive, and Dad's preferences were catered for where possible. I would not hesitate to recommend
the Mill House to anyone. My mum is also a permanent resident there, and it is very reassuring that she is in such safe hands, receiving exceptional care.

My mother has been in respite care for the last 10 weeks and has had a lovely time making new friends and having some great experiences.
The staff are all so friendly and helpful, it is a joy to visit!
My mother also loved having her friend over for Christmas lunch, as her friend was also on her own,
so this was lovely for both of them.
I can't thank the staff enough for making my mum's stay as comfortable and enjoyable as it has been. Thank you.

My friend / ex-neighbour has been in the care home for around 6 months. There has just been a big makeover and I must say it looks great. I really enjoy visiting as the staff are very welcoming. I sometimes go along when the singers are on as they are always of a high standard. Although I'm sad she
is no longer my neighbour, I am pleased she's being looked after well at The Manor. Thank you all.

My father came for respite care to give my mother a rest. All staff were welcoming, supportive and extremely kind and he was made to feel at ease straight away. His room was lovely, with little welcome gifts left for him. Dad made some social connection with staff and residents and really enjoyed his
time at The Manor House. He was happy well looked after and it worked perfectly for us as a family. We will be doing again.

We were very impressed with the quality of provision and care provided by the Manor House throughout our mother's time there. It is lovely well equipped home - my mother particularly enjoyed the café - and is ideally located near the Valley Gardens in Harrogate. Sadly her stay was all too brief, but
the respect, kindness and consummate professionalism of the all the staff in her last few days made a very difficult time for us much more bearable, and ensured her passing was as comfortable and peaceful as possible.
Reply from Stephanie Foulds, Home Manager at The Manor House HarrogateThank you for sharing such a thoughtful and heartfelt review. We are deeply sorry for your loss and are honoured that we were able to care for your mother during her time with us.
We are very pleased to hear that you found The Manor House to be a welcoming and well-equipped home, and that your mother especially enjoyed the caf and surroundings. Most importantly, your kind words about the respect, kindness, and professionalism shown by our team in her final days mean a great deal to us. Supporting residents and their families with dignity, comfort, and compassion at such an emotional time is at the very heart of what we do.
Thank you again for your trust and for taking the time to leave this review. Our thoughts remain with you and your family.
