I can't thank the staff enough for the care and compassion they have shown to my mum over the past year. From the very beginning, they made her feel welcome, safe, and truly at home. The team are always kind, patient, and attentive, treating her with dignity and respect every single day.
The environment
is warm, clean, and well-managed, and there is always something going on to keep residents engaged and happy. It gives me real peace of mind knowing that my mum is not only well cared for, but also genuinely valued as an individual.
Communication with the staff has always been excellentthey keep me informed and are always happy to answer any questions or concerns. It's clear that they genuinely care about the residents and go above and beyond in everything they do.
I would highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for a safe, supportive, and caring environment for their loved one. Thank you for everything you've done over the past year.

We arrive at Mill House at least 3 times per week to see Auntie Pauline and every visit we are greeted by friendly staff always smiling, the environment is excellent clean, warm and friendly we usually sit downstairs in the bar area where drinks are consumed from teas, to latte to cappucino to even
gin and tonics. Theres even cakes and other desserts to choose from too Auntie Pauline loves the face there are activities to join in throughout the days and can join in at leisure if she wants to. She loves the brekafast, lunches, evening meals too. All in all we could not be happier with the allround team effort Mill House provides.
Reply from Sharleen Polley, Home Manager at The Mill HouseThank you so much for your lovely review-it really means a lot to all of us here at The Mill House.
We're so pleased to hear how much you enjoy your visits, and it's always a pleasure to welcome you. The team will be delighted to know their warm greetings and smiles are making a difference.
It's great to hear you enjoy spending time in the caf bar (especially with those coffee's and sweet treats!). And hearing how much your Auntie enjoys the activities and meals truly makes our day-she's a joy to have with us.
Thank you again for your continued support.

Amazing home, more like a 5 star hotel than a care facility. Staff friendly and caring. No concerns of my mother's welfare. The facilities and food are amazing. A well run home.
Reply from Sharleen Polley, Home Manager at The Mill HouseThank you for your lovely review. It has taken time for me to write this review after my husband passed away I feel that I would like to express my gratitude to the team at the Manor House for their care of my husband in his final week.
My husband was a very private and gentle man who fought cancer for 14 months his End of life care
and the care of his family made this very difficult time slightly more manageable.
The team were very kind and attentive, they were responsive to his changing needs over his final week. I could not fault the care he received

Dad was a resident of The Manor House for over 3 years following a fall and his worsening dementia. I cannot speak highly enough of all the staff; the management team, hospitality team, housekeeping and of course most importantly the carers are wonderful. Dad received the best care for which we are
truly grateful. Unfortunately he passed away recently but the respect, kindness and care he received near the end helped his passing to be as peaceful as possible and the support received by my sister and I during the past 3 years and especially recent weeks has been tremendous. Having looked at other care homes in the area the things that The Manor House has which I think others might lack is joy and friendship. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

My mother has been looked after by The Manor House at Harrogate for seven years, and the throughout all that time the care and support has been exemplary. The staff have become her family, not just support staff, and have always shown an interest in her and her life. My family has always been made welcome
when visiting and have been invited to the several activities taking place regularly.

Mum just passed away after 5 years at the Manor House, Duchy floor, then Chesters, age 96.
We particularly wanted to say thankyou to everyone on the team (shout out for Kelly and Tom, so caring and supportive) who looked after Mum. We have been confident throughout that Mum was well cared for, and
we are so grateful for that. To us, the criteria has always been 'would Dad have approved' of the arrangements that we made for Mum. That's a resounding yes, which is a great comfort.
So this is a simple but heartfelt thankyou, then, for all your care, keep up the good work.

I came to visit my dad, and it was nice to see him sitting in the lounge area looking comfortable and well cared for. The staff are very friendly and caring, and I have had nothing but good experiences and good interactions with all the staff I've met that have cared for my dad. It is a real weight

If you want to see how a care home should be run then look no further than Borrage House. The management and staff are kind and competent, doing a tough job with humour and patience. My relative, for whom I hold Power of Attorney, has settled in well since her admission in January 2026, and my wife
and I are pleased we chose Borrage House in every respect. The building isn't flashy, it simply has a friendly, down-to-earth, efficient atmosphere from the moment you walk in the front door. Wholeheartedly recommended.

An Exemplary Care Home - Manor House were incredible. My Dad needed respite care after hospital and had complex needs. The staff were professional and committed to the highest level of care, and they helped me with him on the same day I contacted them. I am so grateful. The building is beautiful,
like an upmarket hotel, with a delightful cafe that Dad and visitors enjoyed being in. Can't fault it!!
Reply from Stephanie Foulds, Home Manager at The Manor House HarrogateThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and generous review. It truly means a great deal to all of us at Manor House.
We are delighted to hear that your father's respite stay met your expectations and that our team were able to support you both so quickly during what can often be a challenging time. Providing professional, compassionate care for people with complex needs is something our staff take enormous pride in, and it's wonderful to know their commitment made a positive difference to your experience.
It's also lovely to hear that you and your father enjoyed the surroundings and our caf - we aim to create a warm, welcoming environment where residents and their families feel comfortable and able to spend quality time together.
Your kind words will be shared with the whole team, who will be incredibly encouraged by your feedback.
Thank you again for your trust and recommendation.

I am so pleased we found Borrage House!
Mum has settled in so quick and it's great to see her getting involved in the activities and social gatherings.
The staff at Borrage are just fabulous, nothing is ever too much, the whole vibe since day 1 is 'this not our home, it's the resident's home' family
and friends are always made welcome, with a flexible open door policy. Thanks for all you do, it's appreciated.
