The standard of care my mum has received since living at Borrage House has been excellent from all members of staff, their kindness does not go unnoticed.
The choice of food is varied, the room is always clean and entertainment is available every day if mum wishes to participate from crafts and quizzes

My father Tony has been in the care of Mill House since Dec 2024. His care has been excellent & consistently we recieve updates on his health + happiness. My dad will tell you himself the carers have been chosen for their caring nature, inteligence, brilliant work ethic and immaculate turn out. Dad
mentions on a daily basis just how excellent certain members of staff have been towards him. The definately raise his spirits!

My Dad moved into Firth House after a short illness in hospital and he was no longer able to live independently.
The staff and management there were super helpful in assisting with his transfer from hospital to Firth House.
Once he was in there the love, care and support he received was second to
none. Every single member of staff looked after him well.
Sadly Dad passed away soon after moving in. We would have loved his care in Firth House to have been for longer. The Firth House team were like his extended family and I felt the same when my Mum lived there previously too. Thank you to all the staff at Firth House.

Outstanding care, My father who is terminally ill has always thanked the care team for their continued attention to detail and kindness in his care, Unfortunately my father has had three falls in the past 12 hours and the care team have kept me informed of every step they have taken and including the
out of hours medical services,
This is a great comfort and reassurance that my father is being looked after and cared for by a great care team,
A big thank you to all the care staff at The Manor House Harrogate

We moved my mother into The Mill House in January this year. She was failing in health and not responding to care in her previous home. The staff at the Mill House made it their responsibility to care and motivate her towards recovery. Since the move she has regained both physical strength and cognitive
awareness. She is very happy and the staff have been the key factor in her change. A lovely home.

My Dad was only in Firth House for a short time, having not been well enough to return home after a spell in hospital.
The staff and managers at Firth House were kind and helpful when we were organising his transfer from hospital, very welcoming towards Dad and incredibly supportive of all the family.
Dad's end of life care from the wonderful staff at Firth House and the GPs who work with them was dignified and we were touched by the care he received. Firth House is a very caring community and feels like an extended family. We are sorry he didn't get to enjoy living there for longer.

I can't thank the staff enough at the Manor Knaresborough for looking after my mum initially and then my dad. We were lucky that there was a room available for my mum who has dementia for respite whilst my dad was suddenly taken into hospital with Pneumonia. And then even more lucky that another room
was available for my dad to be reunited with my mum for a week of recovery for himself. I know for a fact that they both enjoyed their stay due to the fabulous staff and their kind and professional nature.

I came into the Manor House on Monday February 17th 2025 for 2 weeks respite (after having visited other homes) I was made very welcome from day 1 as I found the people all very friendly and welcoming and making me feel very much at home. I gradually joined the various activities being held in the home
or out in the community. Went to the theatre and for a trip on a canal boat. Once they realised I had been teacher they persuaded me to read a book on our Teddy Bears picnic day's. Its 30 years since I retired!! I am now a permanent resident here.

My mum has been a resident for about 6 months currently, due to dementia. The staff helped her settle in very quickly and she much prefers her new home to living with me. She has had some recent health troubles that have resulted in short hospital stays. The support she and the family have been given
during these has been outstanding. They monitor her wellbeing closely, step in proactively to avoid or resolve problems, and keep the family updated on any developments.
On a day to day basis, the facilities, entertainment and food are all great. The staff are always very professional, caring and accommodating while also being happy to chat to or assist residents or visitors whenever the need arises. I have yet to find anyone working there who does not appear to have been trained to a very high level, literally all the staff are great to interact with.

Mum made Manor House her home from July 2018. Or should I say, the wonderful staff at MH made it Mum's home from the off. As a family we are indebted to all the staff at MH that have loved and cared for Mum. She was on the Chesters Dementia floor, but it was so noticeable when I took mum out for a walk
that most of the staff we saw on the ground floor on the way out would stop and say 'hello'. Lots of activities to keep residents stimulated. Kept clean and well maintained by the team and some very well fed and watered residents. Thank you all for everything you did for mum.

My husband was assessed by The Mill House for respite care. I was very thorough in describing his needs and they were happy to accept him. He fell 16 times in the 2 weeks he was there. There was a lack of communication between the home and myself and between one shift and the next. Remembering that
my husband has Alzheimers and needs others to help him on and off the toilet, which they were aware of, I feel he should not have been accepted there. The staff were lovely with him, but his needs were not met. On coming home, he fell on the doorstep and is now in hospital. There is no duty manager on at night.

My mother moved in to The Mill House in September 2024 and we are really sad to have to move her into a nursing home due to her being diagnosed with a rare brain condition and her needs being out of the scope of what can be managed at the home.
Her time at the home has been a happy one, she settled
quickly and made many friends and enjoyed the varied range of activities on offer . The Mill House is a beautiful home which feels more like a lovely hotel and it is a pleasure to visit and spend time in lovely surroundings. The staff have truly gone above and beyond to adapt to mums ever changing symptoms and have done their very best to help her and us navigate a difficult time. The management have been outstanding in their support with the difficulties we have faced and their door has always been open .
We are sad she is having to move on but also grateful to the Mill House for their support. A beautiful home highly recommended .

Mum has now been at Borrage for over 3 years having moved up from London. A huge and potentially risky move for her, but it meant she would be nearer to both me and my sister. We needn't have worried, as from day one, the love, respect and care given to her by all the wonderful staff has been immense.
I have no doubt that her life (she's 94) has been extended because of that.
