There is no doubt moving from independent living to a Care Home is an extremely challenging and emotional time for the whole family. Thank goodness for Gills Top. The transition for my mum was excellent, handled positively from the first interactions with Kat and Gemma through to making the decision to move in. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. After a week Mum felt settled, at ease and comfortable with everyone. There is a uniquely calm atmosphere pervading every aspect, from the communal seating area to the garden and dining room. Residents have varying needs and the staff cater for everyone, calmly and purposefully, going out of their way to accommodate individual requests. I can't recommend Gills Top highly enough. Seeing my mum thriving and happy in such a caring environment, it means everything. Thank you so much.

The care and compassion given has been first class. All medical issues have been dealt with imediatley to enable dignity and wellbeing to be maintained when a person moves into a care enviorement from their home.

I had to bring my sister in law as an emergency in Dec 2025. She has always been very houseproud, loved her home and garden. All the staff have been most helpful and kind, which eventually made it easier for her to make the necessary decision to stay here permanently. She loves the staff, the food, and the garden, and the music sessions with the visiting vocalists. The staff have also supported me through the past 5-6 months with their help and kindness. All good!

my auntie has been at gills top for nearly a year, she is settled and has adjusted to her new surroundings really well.
i know she has pain in her legs and back but all the staff are really caring and aware of her limitations and keep up a positive approach without being condescending.
her dementia is there but she keeps happily cracking on.

overall her happiness is most important .

My mother has been resident for nearly 2 year, in that time I have found the staff to helpful, courteous and interested in my mother's welfare. My mother continually tells me how good the food is! I am happy that my mother is settled and comfortable. When I visit there has never been anything untoward i.e smell, or someone at the door asking to be taken home. The entertainment for the residents is varied and of interest to most and can be enjoyed by all if they want to participate.

Sincere thanks to all members of Gills Top staff, including chefs and cleaners. My father recently spent a week with you from Sunday 27 April to Sunday 4 May whilst my mum receiving a hip replacement. Right from the beginning communication was straightforward and very helpful, we had to rearrange dates at the last moment and management was very obliging.
The care staff were lovely to both residents and visitors, being attentive but not overpowering. Dad really benefited from his stay, he ate well and start to enjoy food again which was great for us to see as he has had a poor appetite for a long time. Social interaction with both staff and residents and regular strolls around your peaceful garden has improved his confidence and strength.

When we heard that dad was planning to have a go at pizza making we were amazed! Afterwards he said it was "an interesting experience and he had never tasted a pizza quite like it !"

Couldn't recommend this care home enough at Gills Top. They looked after my grandad with great care and affection from day one. The facilities are amazing and they go above and beyond with everything they provide for all residents. Nothing is ever to much trouble. I wouldn't hesitate to use this care home again in the future and I've already recommended people to come and look round it for relatives of theirs.

My Dad has been a resident at Gills Top since Nov 2023. Initially, we were worried at first but his experience has been such a positive one. The staff and atmosphere are all so friendly, helpful and caring. Residences are treated with dignity and respect, family is made so welcome. Dad settled very quickly and we as a family love visiting. We are all very happy with Gill Top.

My dad came to Gills Top for respite care for a week in November, as soon as I walked in to see the place I knew he would be happy there, it is so homely, wonderfully clean, the staff are so genuine and nothing is too much trouble. I want to say a personal thank you to the lady for arranging my dad's stay ensuring that everything was sorted and also checking in with my dad whilst he was staying, very kind and so very caring. All the staff I met were so lovely and Dad thoroughly enjoyed his stay, he said he was very well looked after, the food was lovely, nothing was too much trouble, the staff were very caring and kind and what more could he want, he said it really built him up, thank you all, you have been great.

As a family, we are so happy with the way our family members are looked after at this lovely, small very personal care facility. Activities occur daily with a full programme always available. Yesterday an in-house trip to Blackpool illuminations was available and so well organised by the team, fish and chips included. Keep up the good work everyone.

My father came to Gills Top for respite initially and then became a permanent resident. We are very happy with the care he receives. The whole team work tirelessly to provide a wonderful atmosphere combined with a high standard of individual care. Nothing is too much trouble, every resident is listened to and treated with dignity. Visitors are well looked after and always welcome. Any queries dealt with efficiently and communication excellent on all sides. Good food and a lot of fun complete the picture with entertainment as well. Lovely caring people.

As a family, ours is a very positive experience with Gills Top in Grassington! It is a difficult decision to go from independent living to accepting the need for 24-hour care, and my father-in-law is happy and settled there. Gills Top is an absolute Gem! From the moment he moved in, he has received every care and consideration; the transition made easier by the warm, inclusive & homely environment created by the staff for the residents. There are regular activities, in and out of the home; it is his decision to be included or not. He has his own room for privacy. The staff are kind and attentive and deliver a high standard of personalised care and are respectful of him as an individual. He has no complaints about the lovely home-cooked food served every day! He is very fortunate to live at Gills Top! We have peace of mind he is in a safe environment and all his needs are being met consistently. I would highly recommend Gills Top to anyone considering residential care for their next step in life!

I entered Gills Top for respite care following a foot operation - non-weight bearing plaster 6 weeks.
During my 7 week stay the attention I received was very good, polite, helpful and caring staff with nothing too much trouble.

They kept an eye on me 24/7. Food very enjoyable and varied, as were daily events for residents. No complaints except that I put on weight!
