Im not currently living near to Layston Grove so it was the 1st time I have been able to visit my grandma since she moved in. From the couple hours I spent there i can see she has the best care and most lovely people looking after her. Really put my mind at ease seeing her so happy and enjoying life.
So thank you!

My mum has been living in Layston Grove over a year now and I am very pleased how she has settled in. The area is lovely, the home is clean, inviting, friendly and very professional. The carers are super, always so friendly and give a high standard of care, knowing the residents so well and adapting
to the residents personalities and needs. Layston Grove has wonderful activities and is a happy, secure home to the highest.

Outstanding care home, a care home that actually cares! We are truly blessed to have Mum in Layston Grove, staff are absolutely amazing, the care home is so well led, decor is out standing and very well maintained and the food is hotel standard, drinks are always being served to the residents, all
the staff are very hands on and interact with all the residents, they care for them, they laugh with them and offer the right level of understanding, compassion and empathy during Mums challenging moments they are fully supportive and most of all so very patient and go above and beyond. Staff are super aware if Mum needs to see a Dr and this is done rapidly, I am always kept fully updated. As visitors we are welcomed and included, we are welcome to visit at any time. We can even book to have a meal with Mum which is a great opportunity to spend quality time with your loved one. Hairdressing salon and cinema room is another great feature. From management to all staff a huge thankyou.

Mum had the loveliest of stays at Layston Grove recently.
She spent three weeks "on holiday" there and told me that it truly was just that- a holiday.
Every attention was given to Mum-her haircut and styled, her nails done, all of her care needs executed faultlessly and at the same time she had so
much fun!
Every day saw her joining in the many daily activities-ranging from seated tennis to singing along with Elvis to writing poetry. There truly was something for everyone.
All of the Carers were just that-unbelievably caring and kind, and as a family we all felt very valued and welcome to visit at any time.
My sister and I are now working on making this an annual holiday for Mum-she was just so very, very happy at Layston Grove.
Thank you to every single member of the team!

I entered the care home feeling a bit worried it was totally alien to me. However, very soon with the help of staff, I got used to it and took part in many activities, and decided to make it my residence.
The staff were generally kind and helpful. I am particularly grateful for the activities and
doctors appointments and hair dos that are done inclusively.

The care, premises, management, staff, food and drink are superb. The effort that goes into every aspect of the resident's care is remarkable. I was so confident that both my brother and sister-in-law were safe and both well looked after. Cannot speak highly enough of Layston Grove. Thank you to all

There have been quite a few changes in caring and other staff, but seem to have gone through smoothly without affecting residents. Continuity of staff and routines is of paramount importance to residents suffering from Dementia/Alzheimer's conditions, and this has been handled by management and care
staff most admirably. Thank you

This care home has been fantastic for my mother. She has her every wish granted, by just clicking the call button around her neck. The home always is very caring, both for my mother and myself They are very aware it's not easy for the family either. Unfortunately, my mum isn't interested in participating
in the entertainment that is organised. However, from what I've seen, it always looks enjoyable and gives the residents a lift to be together.

Hazel End Care Home

from Alan (Son of Resident) published on 21 November 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mother has been a resident of Hazel End for nearly two years. The surroundings, both internally and externally, are lovely and spacious. The total ambience is very friendly and welcoming. The food is plentiful, with lots of healthy options. The entertainment and social activities are regular and
well organised. But by far the best asset of this care home is the staff. They go out of their way to make us feel part of a big family. They are caring and kind towards the residents (some of whom can be rather challenging), and efficient in carrying out their duties. I would love to mention staff individually in this review but would end up mentioning all of them! The manager should be proud of herself for leading such a fabulous team. I regularly recommend this care home to friends and acquaintances and will continue to do so.

Review of

Layston Grove

from Lee B (Grandson of Resident) published on 4 November 2024
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5

My Nan stayed there. I came into her room to see her flat out on the bed when the 'carers' gave her breakfast whilst perched on the edge of the bed. Not in her chair like normal or with any support for her back.
She couldn't lift her own body weight and suffering from dementia, so her opinion was mentally
unreliable.
How long had she been there? She couldn't get up, I was even more shocked to discover she did not have her emergency pendant around her neck. So if I hadn't arrived how long would she have been laying there? Possibly choking on her breakfast too! How could she have alerted the staff if I hadn't arrived?
Clearly, I complained, and the same standard responses were received. No suggestion of a refund or sorts for such a potentially catastrophic level of 'care'. The purpose of me writing this review is to offer a warning to anyone considering this care home. Why risk placing your most vulnerable in such an unpredictable, basic and disrespectful level of care.

Reply from Laura White, District Manager at Layston Grove

This truly is an exceptional home. Clean, tidy and well looked after. The care provided is second to none. The staff regularly go above and beyond looking after the residents but the family is well. From the lady on reception to the seniors to the manager, an amazing care team in between, my mum receives
outstanding care and is very happy and settled at Layston Grove. Would not hesitate putting a loved one in Leiston Grove and making it their new home.

Friendly staff from reception to carers. My mum's room is kept clean and tidy every day. Mum is fully supported by the amazing care team. Sometimes she may comment that the food could be better. The bedroom is very hot so perhaps an upgrade to have air conditioning would be good for the future.
