Every time I visit my Nan, I am struck by the calm atmosphere, the kindness of the staff and how clean and welcoming the home is. Layston Grove has been a wonderful place for my Nan at this stage of her life. She is genuinely well cared for, and the team work hard to make sure her personal interests are reflected in the activities on offer. It has been lovely to see the progress she has made with her mobility, which has given her back some of her independence. Most importantly, I know she is safe, happy and receiving the care she needs, while still being able to enjoy the things she loves, such as flowers, gardening and music.

I couldn't write this review without mentioning the team. Most are warm, friendly and always willing to help. Holly deserves a special mention, as she consistently goes above and beyond for us. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and her kindness, care and dedication are truly appreciated by us.

I find the communication from managers to a very high standard. If any issue is found it is often resolved quickly. Carers appear to really love their work and this is reflected on how the residents react to them. My mother has been a permanent feature for some time and she has settled in nicely, with carers regularly encouraging her to participate in all the activities, of which there are many. Quietly confident when I have to leave mum, that she is in good hands.

My mother-in-law is currently at Layston Grove on long-term respite care following a bleed on the brain, we feel incredibly lucky that we found Layston Grove and that they had a place for her. The care that she is receiving is exceptional. All the staff from the management through to the carers to housekeeping are incredibly kind and take real pride in their work. My mother-in-law has a lovely light airy room, which is very well equipped and always immaculately clean. Due to the nature of her injury she needed special sensors, which were ordered and installed very quickly. She always looks happy when we visit her and keeps on telling us how incredibly lucky she feels to be there.

I cannot praise Layston Grove enough as they are so meticulous in all that they do. A very friendly atmosphere, and nothing too much trouble. We are so impressed with everything. My parent has been living in Layston Grove for over 6 years now. I had to write a review as I wanted to assist other families who are in the process of finding g a home for their relative to move into, I appreciate how this decision is so difficult and so important. My parent being at Layston Grove for over 6 years speaks volumes. There is no way my mum would still be there if she wasn't receiving the FABULOUS and AMAZING care she receives. This is an amazing care home. Always very clean and well kept, there is always plenty to choose from on the menu as well as plenty of additional food options throughout the day. The kitchen have bent over backwards to ensure my mum has the food she desires. The secret weapon of Layston Grove who endure the success of this home are the staff. The team are second to none, from the maintenance guy to the kitchen to to the laundry and housekeeping teams to the front of house, to the Msnsgement and especially the care team. Simply FIRST CLASS.

My husband has been in Layston for a few weeks and I am very pleased with the level of care. The rooms are clean and well kept. The carers are lovely and genuinely care how the residents are looked after. Although he has dementia, my husband seems to like being at the home. The residents are not left in their rooms for long periods of time and are encouraged to take part in the many activities. I was very worried about leaving my husband in a care home, but was finding it increasingly difficult to look after him at home. It has been a huge relief to find somewhere where I feel I can trust that he will be looked after properly.

Outstanding care home, a care home that actually cares! We are truly blessed to have Mum in Layston Grove, staff are absolutely amazing, the care home is so well led, decor is out standing and very well maintained and the food is hotel standard, drinks are always being served to the residents, all the staff are very hands on and interact with all the residents, they care for them, they laugh with them and offer the right level of understanding, compassion and empathy during Mums challenging moments they are fully supportive and most of all so very patient and go above and beyond. Staff are super aware if Mum needs to see a Dr and this is done rapidly, I am always kept fully updated. As visitors we are welcomed and included, we are welcome to visit at any time. We can even book to have a meal with Mum which is a great opportunity to spend quality time with your loved one. Hairdressing salon and cinema room is another great feature. From management to all staff a huge thankyou.

Mum had the loveliest of stays at Layston Grove recently.
She spent three weeks "on holiday" there and told me that it truly was just that- a holiday.
Every attention was given to Mum-her haircut and styled, her nails done, all of her care needs executed faultlessly and at the same time she had so much fun!
Every day saw her joining in the many daily activities-ranging from seated tennis to singing along with Elvis to writing poetry. There truly was something for everyone.
All of the Carers were just that-unbelievably caring and kind, and as a family we all felt very valued and welcome to visit at any time.
My sister and I are now working on making this an annual holiday for Mum-she was just so very, very happy at Layston Grove.

Thank you to every single member of the team!

I entered the care home feeling a bit worried it was totally alien to me. However, very soon with the help of staff, I got used to it and took part in many activities, and decided to make it my residence.

The staff were generally kind and helpful. I am particularly grateful for the activities and doctors appointments and hair dos that are done inclusively.

My Nan stayed there. I came into her room to see her flat out on the bed when the 'carers' gave her breakfast whilst perched on the edge of the bed. Not in her chair like normal or with any support for her back.
She couldn't lift her own body weight and suffering from dementia, so her opinion was mentally unreliable.
How long had she been there? She couldn't get up, I was even more shocked to discover she did not have her emergency pendant around her neck. So if I hadn't arrived how long would she have been laying there? Possibly choking on her breakfast too! How could she have alerted the staff if I hadn't arrived?

Clearly, I complained, and the same standard responses were received. No suggestion of a refund or sorts for such a potentially catastrophic level of 'care'. The purpose of me writing this review is to offer a warning to anyone considering this care home. Why risk placing your most vulnerable in such an unpredictable, basic and disrespectful level of care.

Well, what can I say but thank you so very much for a wonderful successful happy visit. My mum went upstairs for a clothing shopping trip. A beautiful range of clothes and Mum chose her own. 2 pairs of trousers, pull on, 3 short-sleeved jumpers immensely soft and a long-sleeved cardigan on order. All clothes were taken to the laundry immediately following purchase for labelling. What an incredible care home. I drove for 3 hours but today an accident and heavy rain. However, I leave a very happy 93-year-old lady who made her own choices. As a carer of many years, this has been such an incredible visit and so worthwhile. Thank you to an amazing team of staff.
