On collecting my mother following her 2-week respite stay, she had nothing but praise for the home and its staff, who I found extremely friendly and helpful. Her room was very comfortable and she enjoyed all her meals. I have already recommended Layston Grove to one of my friends and will continue to do so. In particular, I found staffing levels very good in comparison to other homes we have used.

I cannot recommend this care home enough, the home is amazing, really calm and beautifully decorated, the management and staff are fantastic, very helpful with any questions I had relating to my family members care, nothing was too much, very attentive and polite, the service and food are brilliant. I would and have recommended this home to everybody I have spoken to. Myself and my family cannot thank the managers and staff enough for their hard work and dedication to every person that comes through the doors from the start of their stay. Thank you.

This Care Home is wonderful; my Gran is being given the best care. They allow dogs to be taken in, so I can visit with mine and cheer her up. I cannot recommend it enough; the staff are so friendly and attentive without being overbearing. They feel more like friends to the residents which helps with settling in. The Care Home itself is great; the layout is spot on and the rooms are amazing. It is clean and tidy and has all the little touches to make it feel like home from home; it has a library, a salon and even a cinema! The residents have many outings which is brilliant as it gives them a change of scenery and a feeling of independence. There is a quiet lounge which can be booked out so if you have a special occasion; we booked it out for a pre-Christmas family get-together and it was fabulous. I know that my family can relax as they know that Gran is in a lovely, safe and happy place that she feels is home.

I went to have an exploratory look around Layton Grove for my elderly uncle. I was extremely impressed and about 4-6 weeks later visited again, this time to actually look into Uncle moving in. On my arrival for my second visit, the lady on reception greeted me and then proceeded to say, I believe you came and saw us before for your uncle and mentioned him by name. Amazing! She made me feel instantly that this was somewhere, where people came first and Uncle would be well cared for.

Gosh, how right was that. Uncle has now lived in Layston Grove for nearly two months and he is so happy. The care is wonderful, the staff are kind, professional, friendly and so caring. His health has improved beyond compare. He has been taken out to lunch, they are taking him shopping in town this week. Everything is excellent and I would totally recommend the home to anyone.

The care and support she has received has been outstanding.

She repeatedly says that she does not regret giving up her home to go in there and that she is very happy. We always receive a lovely welcome when we visit.

I only know Layston Grove as a visitor but I do know that your care and sensitivity of your staff have brought my mother-in-law back to life. She was at death's door after her accident but now she's firing off emails, writing her book, coming out to see us and even contemplating a trip to London. This is all down to the sensitive, non-intrusive and all-encompassing empowerment care offered by your wonderful staff. Thank you.

Layston Grove is the most remarkable care home, so glad we found it for mum. The atmosphere when we visit is always so friendly and homely. The staff are wonderful, nothing is too much for them. They constantly communicate with, look out for and interact with the residents and their families making it feel like one big family. The activities they do with the residents are amazing and go way beyond anything I have seen at any other care home, are tailored to the residents and range from amazing unusual crafts to baking, pamper days, entertainment and film nights (with popcorn). They also regularly take the residents out and about including trips out, meals at the pub and afternoon tea, but also normal things like trips to the library and the shops. It really is home from home. Mum still does all the things she used to be able to do and more but now in a very very effective and pleasurable assisted living environment. I can't fault it. I would live there myself if I could.

Mum moved into Layston Grove in May 2018 after many weeks in hospital respite. From day one we have been constantly impressed by the facilities and care provided at the home. All staff are approachable, friendly and extremely professional in looking after Mum. As yet, there are many opportunities provided within the home and around the local town and the staff are doing their best to get Mum to join in.

Mum moved in during 1st week so a few teething problems to start obviously. She has settled and enjoys being pampered on Fridays by the hairdresser. She had a front seat in the Cinema room to watch the Royal wedding and enjoys the lovely reception after, as did we. She also enjoyed a 1-1 trip to a local coffee shop with one of the carers. We also had a family afternoon tea in the tea room with lovely sarnies and cakes. Unfortunately mum had to go into hospital to have a Hernia op n lots of care and sympathy were shown.

The care and consideration given to my brother by the staff and management at Layston Grove has been excellent.

My wife and I visited many care homes prior to Layston Grove but nothing came up to their standard. The only criticism I have is that his room could be vacuumed more regularly, having said that it is only a minor item.

The carers are truly wonderful. They are professional but at the same time extremely attentive & treat all residents with such dignity. Oakdale owners, their management & ALL staff are so welcoming.

My Mum's bedroom en-suite is comfortable & from the start, we as a family have been able to create a home from home feel.

MOST IMPORTANT of all my mother is now safe, eating properly, having her hair & nails done every Friday, joins in with armchair keep fit, has started knitting!! Does her daily crosswords with her newly made friend. Thank you Layston Grove.

I have worked in care for 19 years, it was my first job when leaving school and I started as a laundry assistant as I was not old enough to be a care assistant at the time. I joined the care team as soon as I was able and soon worked my way up to care team manager, then deputy manager.
