All staff are lovely, very helpful. The entrance looks amazing inside and out. They do a brilliant job, whatever their role. But I do think the food could improve with more fresh veg instead of mostly frozen.

Thank you for your kind feedback regarding our entrance area. I will ensure that our team are aware of your lovely comments. We were celebrating a friend's birthday. A friend had taken some food. But staff also supplied biscuits, fudge, etc. Whenever I visit, I'm always impressed by the care and cleanliness.

Concerned about randem residents going into room. Heating in bathroom not good.
Reply from Kelly Hill, Manager at The RidingsThank you for taking the time to review The Ridings and we are pleased you rate our safety/ security as excellent. We appreciate the opportunity to discuss these matters directly. We've provided different options regarding the bathroom heating. Due to a keypad now being installed on the corridor, access to residents' rooms should be limited. We're always happy to discuss feedback.

I am appalled on how frequently the lack of communication with myself was managed. I was rarely informed of my father's falls and each time I visited, I found another cause for concern regarding deteriorating health issues like bruises and skin discoloration which no one had noticed.
At my last visit
I found out that I had purposely been ignored on my emails as it was instructed by the senior management team to not respond when I was just asking for a meeting to discuss what was happening with his health care.
I have had no apology to what I witnessed and no care to my distress. I now don't want to visit my father because they did not manage the situation at the time and since I have asked for clarification.
I don't want others to go through the same experience as the care home staff lack knowledge in the mental capacity act, and how to include close relatives in the care plan. I am sincerely disappointed.
Reply from Samantha Bell, Manager at Ferendune CourtThank you for your feedback. The safety, wellbeing and dignity of every resident is extremely important to us. We take all incidents, including changes in health, very seriously and have clear procedures in place to monitor, record and communicate these appropriately. We recognise how upsetting this must feel and are committed to listening and learning from all feedback. We regularly review each person's individual care plan to ensure we continue to support each resident's needs. We welcome the opportunity to discuss the matters raised in more detail.

My sister has been living here for some time but has had a spell in hospital. The welcome home she received was full of genuine love and affection for her and staff were truly happy to see her back. It was lovely to see how much she was appreciated.

I have found the home fantastic. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The lady of whom I have power of attorney has frankly never been happier. She was very worried and even frightened of going into a care home but is now quite the opposite.

My wife has been resident at Ferendune Court for 20 months. She has vascular dementia so has very little cognition which affects her ability to communicate clearly. She also has mobility issues and is generally transferred by wheelchair.
The staff and carers at Ferendune are 100% committed to providing
a homely, safe and loving environment. The range of abilities and disabilities they have to manage must be really demanding. However, along side their daily duties of personal care, catering, serving, managing medications, monitoring health, etc. they still find the energy and exhuberance to provide a wide range of activities that all able residents can enjoy and get involved in.
I can visit anytime of the day and I am treated as one of the community. Sometimes we will sit in her flat other times in one of the communal lounges.
To see how she is cared for and the fact she is generally smiling or laughing just like she always did puts my mind at rest.

I came into Ferendune on respite at very short notice - 6 hours - with my husband, who has dementia, after an accident. I was shown so much care and concern about everything - nothing was a problem, and they always checked again to make sure. Their care to other residents was very obvious, as they would
treat their own families. They even produced a cake on January 1st for our wedding anniversary. Stayed 5 weeks.

Since my father-in-law has been at Ferendune Court care home Faringdon - I have been very pleased with the care he has received. I visit at random times regularly and every time I have been happy with the care and support received to my father-in-law and to us. The house keeping and food is exemplary.
There is always some activity going on which we can participate at any time.

My mother in law has now been here for a few months and I have to say it's taken the worries off our shoulders. Lucky for us they could take her on short notice and we haven't looked back. All the staff is brilliant, dealing with what ever comes. The premises are very nice and the food is good. We have

Mum resided at Ferendune Court in Faringdon for the last two years of her life. She was very happy there. Nothing was too much trouble. There were outings to the seaside, garden centres, wildlife parks, boat trips, coffee at the local library. Performers would attend regularly to sing and perform
plays or pantomimes. Mark (one of the carers) played the keyboard every Monday where staff and residents would sing and dance. The Music Man brought his CD collection in on a Wednesday. Animals also feature heavily with visits from Shetland Ponies, farm animals and creepy crawlies. The staff were so kind and despite their busy schedules, always had time to stop and chat. The last month for Mum was made so much easier by the kindness and compassion she and our family received and meant that Mum's passing was very peaceful, in her own room, surrounded by her family and supported by everyone at Ferendune Court. Thank you so much to each and every member of staff at Ferendune Court

Mum is well looked after. Happy she is now in a secure but relaxed setting.
She very much enjoys the activities put on.
I find all the care assistants very good, I find that they are there because they want to be, not just as a paid 'job'.
