The staff + management at Mill House are amazing. From Our first initial visit, to Mum moving in and all the outside issues with local council etc. the help, guidance + advice was amazing. We cannot thank everyone enough for the care Mum received, the home is outstanding, rooms amazing and staff out of this world. Mum has had the best year she could have had with 100% care and love from everyone. We cannot recommend Mill House enough. Thank you.

We arrive at Mill House at least 3 times per week to see Auntie Pauline and every visit we are greeted by friendly staff always smiling, the environment is excellent clean, warm and friendly we usually sit downstairs in the bar area where drinks are consumed from teas, to latte to cappucino to even gin and tonics. Theres even cakes and other desserts to choose from too Auntie Pauline loves the face there are activities to join in throughout the days and can join in at leisure if she wants to. She loves the brekafast, lunches, evening meals too. All in all we could not be happier with the allround team effort Mill House provides.

Dad received excellent care during his respite stay. The staff were all extremely patient and caring. The room was immaculate and the room was comfortable with a lovely view of the courtyard. The menu was impressive, and Dad's preferences were catered for where possible. I would not hesitate to recommend the Mill House to anyone. My mum is also a permanent resident there, and it is very reassuring that she is in such safe hands, receiving exceptional care.

I am so glad my mum came to live in The Mill House as a resident. I keep telling my friends and family Mum is living in a fantastic care home, in fact it's like being in a 5-star care hotel. The facilities are second to none, with the residents' rooms well kitted out. The staff are very friendly and caring, you as relatives feel like being part of a family.

We moved my mother into The Mill House in January this year. She was failing in health and not responding to care in her previous home. The staff at the Mill House made it their responsibility to care and motivate her towards recovery. Since the move she has regained both physical strength and cognitive awareness. She is very happy and the staff have been the key factor in her change. A lovely home.

My husband was assessed by The Mill House for respite care. I was very thorough in describing his needs and they were happy to accept him. He fell 16 times in the 2 weeks he was there. There was a lack of communication between the home and myself and between one shift and the next. Remembering that my husband has Alzheimers and needs others to help him on and off the toilet, which they were aware of, I feel he should not have been accepted there. The staff were lovely with him, but his needs were not met. On coming home, he fell on the doorstep and is now in hospital. There is no duty manager on at night.

My mother moved in to The Mill House in September 2024 and we are really sad to have to move her into a nursing home due to her being diagnosed with a rare brain condition and her needs being out of the scope of what can be managed at the home.
Her time at the home has been a happy one, she settled quickly and made many friends and enjoyed the varied range of activities on offer . The Mill House is a beautiful home which feels more like a lovely hotel and it is a pleasure to visit and spend time in lovely surroundings. The staff have truly gone above and beyond to adapt to mums ever changing symptoms and have done their very best to help her and us navigate a difficult time. The management have been outstanding in their support with the difficulties we have faced and their door has always been open .

We are sad she is having to move on but also grateful to the Mill House for their support. A beautiful home highly recommended .

My very elderly mother came to The Mill House for respite care, but deteriorated and died a few days after coming.

Mill House staff continue to provide outstanding care to my parents, who live in an assisted living apartment. Without exception, the staff give them exceptional support, always with a smile, even when it must be tough going! Recently my mother was in hospital for a month and they did a sterling job keeping my dad upbeat, and with her aftercare on return.

Hello, I am Sharleen Polley, general manager of The Mill House care home and The Mill Lodge care suites. I have worked for Anchor for 9 years and previously I was the manager at Anchor’s Thornton Hill care home which we decanted and moved into The Mill House in July 2023.

As a home manager, I am very passionate about leading and equipping my team with the knowledge and resources to enable them to deliver the highest standards of care and services to those who choose to live with us. I take great pride in ensuring the residents are at the heart of all the decisions I make. Please know my door is always open.

Away from work, I love going long walks with my dog and going on holidays.

My name is Jacqueline Ashley and I’m the Home Administrator at The Mill House and The Mill Lodge. I will support you and your loved ones with your resident contract, account management and other administrative duties. I moved to The Mill House after working at Anchor’s Thornton Hill Home for 11 years. Thornton Hill was a charming old Manor House, a stark contrast from The Mill House, which is a very luxurious brand new build.

The residents are still and always will be, the centre of our priority no matter where we are, but how lovely to care for them in such lovely surroundings.

When I am not at work I enjoy walking, wild swimming and being out in nature.
