Upon entering Overstone House, a beautiful vibe. All staff so helpful and just lovely. Staff actively encourage my mum to take part in everything which is wonderful to see. Mum's room, warm and inviting and kept very nice. Mum is kept lovely with the personal care provided, and she enjoys the meals,
and eating in the invited environment, with the other residents. Mum is treated with dignity and all my queries dealt with promptly. So far after only joining in December a beautiful experience.

Mum was quite unwell in December with chest pains and staff very good dealing with her and taking appropriate action. Plenty of Christmas activities on for all to enjoy whatever level of ability. Young male singer is exceptionally good with all the residents and if unable to get up will give them instruments
to use, so all included. Management easy to approach and discuss any concerns. Receptionist always give a lovely welcome as do all the staff.

I am a visitor to Peter and a good friend of Aline's. I constantly see great workers, great work, and consistent attention to staff. Treating residents so well. Super standards and awareness to families concerns. Staff respond quickly, especially Kieron, who sped off to Wellingborough to sort Peter's
glasses that broke.

My mother has been a resident since January 2025. She entered the home following a major stroke and needed assistance with many areas of her daily life. Unable to move independently initially, she is now able to walk short distances using a walking frame. She was underweight on admission but due to
the tasty, healthy meals she is receiving (she loves her food) she is now at an acceptable weight.
She enjoys the many stimulating activities that are on offer, which are keeping her active both physically and mentally.
We are thankful to all the staff who contribute to mum's care they have all paid a part in the vast improvement we have seen in her since she first arrived.
The staff are very approachable and we feel able to discuss any aspect of mum's care we may have queries over .They always contact us promptly if they have any concerns.

My Dad has Alzheimer's and came on respite but his health deteriorated slightly and he is now a permanent resident of Overstone House and I'm very glad he is.
The home is modern, more closely resembling a hotel and the staff are very knowledgeable, caring, helpful and very upbeat.
Dad is so much better
overall now he's not trying to struggle on at home on his own and he's much more stimulated mentally too.

My father in law went in as respite but due to some health complications he has decided the best thing to do is to become a permanent resident as he is so happy there. Care staff and care home are amazing and my husband is now relieved to know his dad is being looked after and he now has no worries
about him being at home on his own.

Dad entered overstone house as a respite care initially but due to his issues with Alzheimer's, his mobility and his stubbornness he is now a full time resident and is looking better than he has done in years of us trying to care for him at home. He is more than happy with his room the care provided
and the carers, the company of other residents and other residents family members that all interact with him. It really is like one big happy family. As for the staff, the care, the rooms and the actual overall home is truly amazing. As a family we couldn't be happier to rest now knowing dads looked after and actually enjoying being there at overstone house!

Mum moved in here in January 2024. We did not need to look anywhere else it felt right the moment we walked through the door. A wonderful warm atmosphere welcomes you into this modern spacious home. The care given by all members of staff and even 'behind the scenes' staff is far beyond what you expect.
Mum described it as 'like being in a hotel being looked after by family'. She enjoyed the laughter and fun during her time here. It put us at ease knowing she was happy here. In her final days in December 2024, Mum and all the family were surrounded by love care and compassion from all the staff and could not be faulted.
The coffee and cake offered is always a treat.

The care at the home during December in my aunties last days was exemplary. She was treated with much love and dignity as were all the relatives that visited her at the home.
She passed away in a safe, happy environment with all the family around her.
She had been a resident for 18 months and had
been very happy at Overstone House, the staff were very caring and loved having her around.

My mother passed away peacefully on December 18th at Overstone House. The care she received in the 19 months she was at the home was exemplary. The attention to detail awarded to mum was above and beyond our expectations. When it was obvious mums time was coming to an end the love and dedication from
the whole team was very much felt and appreciated by the family. We cannot thank them enough for all they have done.

Mum and Dad spent their last few months at Overstone House, having moved from Leicester to be close to us. Others have spoken about the excellent facilities already, but what shines the most are the team of carers. They became so much more than that. They became not only Mum and Dad's extended family,
but ours as well. We felt as cared for, and as looked after as Mum and Dad. Especially in their last days. We cannot thank our extended family enough.

My friends are a married couple and were both classed as bed-bound when admitted last September. The man is now back to normal physically and the woman is walking with carer assistance. The care they are receiving is amazing. I hope a new activities person will be appointed soon as that used to be brilliant.
They are still receiving visits from the dog, entertainers, florist etc.

Mum has been a resident since January 2024. The day we looked around with mum, myself and my sister, thought that Overstone House is like a hotel for the elderly. The staff are caring and compassionate, and nothing is too much trouble. Communication is excellent and we know that should there be a problem,
we would be contacted straight away. Mum loves to chat with the other residents or the staff who make time to talk to her.
Anyone looking for a care home for their relative, in my opinion, would struggle to find a better one than Overstone House.

My mother was a resident here for just over two months. From day one, all of the staff went out of their way to help her feel comfortable as she settled in, and she was encouraged to join in with the many activities whenever she felt well enough to do so.
As visitors, we were always greeted warmly
and offered compassion and refreshments. Every member of the care team showed great empathy and kindness to all of us.
The end-of-life care that was offered to my mother was exceptional in every aspect, and we are very pleased that we chose Overstone House.

Mum joined Overstone in October last year after a 2-week respite visit. She couldn't wait to go back. The reason it is called a care home is simply because every single member of staff cares so deeply about the welfare and happiness of the residents. As a family, we have been overwhelmed with the care,
dignity and individualised attention Mum has received. From everyday activities to helping her get ready for an important family event, the staff have gone above and beyond what we could have imagined. Communication has been excellent and allowed us as a family to concentrate on spending quality time with Mum rather than having to worry about her every day. Every visitor has commented on how wonderful the environment is and how welcoming the staff have been. We would recommend Overstone House to anyone looking for the highest quality of care for a relative.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.734)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.734) out of 10 for Overstone House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 17 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.809 for Overstone House is calculated as follows: ( (169 Excellents x 5) + (31 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 204 Ratings = 4.809
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.925 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Overstone House is based on 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.925
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2, which has been reached with 17 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2024

I started my career in sales and customer service positions in various settings. I gained a lot of experience in customer relations which led me to train in floristry and start my own business in Greece.
15 years ago, I changed career completely, working as a community home carer in Norfolk. Following this I moved to Northampton and became a rehab support worker in acquired brain injury, at this point I knew that I’d found my passion in care and determined to progress my career in this area. I went back to university and trained as a nurse, I returned to practice and gained knowledge and experience, progressing from junior to senior management, and finally taking up the role of registered home manager.
If I’m honest, I started working in care purely for the convenience of childcare and working hours; I am a naturally caring person and with family commitments to consider, this seemed like the perfect job for me. It didn’t take long to realise that this was where I wanted to be, working in care gave me the opportunity to make a difference, which gave me great satisfaction. My role has changed significantly over the years, but I still get that same satisfaction everyday making a difference to the lives of my residents and their families. I love getting to know my residents and what they need to ensure this happens.
I have very high standards and expect the same from my team. I plan to make Overstone House the best residential care home in the area. I strongly believe everyone is different and unique and should be treated accordingly by offering the best standards of person-centred care.
When I'm not working, I like to unwind by spending time outdoors exploring new places, especially if there are mountain views and waterfalls. My passion for hiking, cycling, climbing, and kayaking has led me to discover new places and new adventures.

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2022

Alexandra has been working in the care industry for over 8 years when she began her career in housekeeping, quickly moving across into care when she secured a job as a care assistant. Alexandra began her career with Anchor at our sister home, Glenvale Park where she worked her way up to deputy, eventually transferring across to us here at Overstone, where she took on the role of deputy manager.

Alexandra always wanted to work in the caring industry, initially, she wanted to be a nurse or a paramedic, however as Alex worked her way up through the ranks she very quickly realised that she had found her vocation in care.

When Alex is not here at Overstone House, caring for our residents and supporting our team, she loves to spend time cooking and baking, and spending time with her family. Alex has a husband and one son, and enjoying quality time with them is extremely important to her.
