My mum Doreen's first time in a residential home, I was amazed how quickly mum settled in.
Mum was singing and dancing to the singing act the home put on and enjoying going to the cinema.
I went to collect mum 10 days later, to find mum saying goodbye to the residents and staff hugging everyone in site.
Was impressed with the staff and cleanness of the home, and how happy they were.
All in all delighted thank you all for.

David

Mum moved into Tolson Grange due to deteriorating Dementia. We have found the home to be nothing short of excellent. The staff in particular deserve praise as they are welcoming, friendly and helpful. Mum likes to keep herself to herself, but they always make an effort with her, and we can see she is treated with care and respect. The home and mum's room feel warm, clean, comfortable and homely - she feels safe and secure, and views it as her home. The food is healthy, tasty and always with a choice. It was a major decision to move her into care, and it was a major decision (and eye opener) to find the right home for her, but we feel so pleased to have landed on Tolson Grange.

I cannot praise the staff at Tolson Grange highly enough. They are a wonder team of dedicated and skilled people. My mum lived there for three and a half years, she passed away recently. The staff made her one of their own as soon as she arrived. They always treated her with dignity and she was safe in their care. They became her family. It was a pleasure to visit, staff were always professional, there was laughter , banter and kind words. The home was always clean and welcoming, it looked cared for. The food looked great too, my mum definitely enjoyed her meals and snacks. The team made my mum's last years as good as they could be in the circumstances. That made me, my dad and brother feel safe too, knowing how well she was cared for. We feel so lucky that mum was able to stay there. A big thank you to the whole Tolson Team. You are stars.

Writing this review on the care Margaret ( 97) currently a resident at Tolson Grange Care Home with diagnosis of Alzheimer's & vascular dementia, since she has been a resident there we have nothing but praise about the care she has received from the all the staff, it was realised by both my wife, who is the daughter of Margaret & her son along with me & our sister in law that it would be impossible for her to continue to live in her house on her own, so collectively we made the difficult decision to find a top quality care home for her thankfully we were able to get her into Tolson Grange.

Under the care of the staff she has settled remarkably well considering her diagnosis, she is cared for treated with dignity & respect she is always well dressed, she enjoys her meals, & when anyone of us or other relatives or friends visits in the morning she always says to us when it's about 11-30 "well it's nearly dinner time you'll have to put me at table now for my dinner!"

Mum moved into Tolson Grange Care Home mid November 2025. All her family are delighted with how well she is being looked after and how well she has settled. Everyone who works there always has a smiling face for mum and all her visitors. The home is beautifully clean and there is always something for mum to do which stimulates her. Mum loves all the entertainment. Before coming here mum was reluctant to eat but now she can't wait for mealtime. The home is looking great for Christmas.

A Big Thank You to all the staff at Tolson Grange

They are a caring home all staff are great. They have really helped my mum settle in. I can not praise them enough. They have gone a long way to work out how to make things easier for my mum, even ordering a new piece of equipment so as mum can have a shower safely. I can go back to being a daughter and not a carer. I am not worrying about her daily care, that is someone else's responsibility.

The Staff are always welcoming, and there is a lovely atmosphere about the home. Everyone is approachable and if they are busy, they will come back to you as promptly as possible. There are lots of social events but sadly my relative doesn't join in but we hope in time he will. The staff do try to encourage him though.

Tolson Grange is a lovely clean & bright environment.
The staff are all brilliant, chatty, caring & welcoming.
All the residents are well looked after, lots of activities to keep them entertained.
Dad's been in the carehome since Oct 24, the staff are all great with him, really looking after him.
He's even put weight back on since being in, which is great!
He was falling at home & had a nasty one outside, wasn't safe to let him go walking by himself & he was becoming more confused & disoriented, along with other issues.

Being in the carehome, he has 24hr care & gives us peace of mind, knowing he's well looked after.

My wife is contentedly settled in the Home. We are confident that in a medical emergency the staff wil take appropriate action. Our family are happy that we can visit every day and play our part in the communal life.

I hope that my wife can continue to live at Tolson Grange for the rest of her life.

So happy my father is in this residential home.
My father-in-law was there until he passed away.
The staff are wonderful with dad and always stay to chat when delivering his meals and drinks, which are plentiful.
The staff have been there a long time and many have family also working there - that says quite a lot.

We know he is safe, warm and cared for. He is happy and so are we.

My mum initially moved into Tolson Grange in September 2024 to convalesce after a fall. She quickly realised that the levels and quality of care that she received could not be replicated if she returned home, so she made the decision to stay permanently. She is very complimentary about the care staff and any minor issues she has experienced with her room or care have been addressed very quickly. I really appreciate the approachability and helpfulness of all the care, admin and management staff.

The staff at Tolson are exceptional, their caring, friendly attitudes make Tolson the place it is. There is a peaceful and often joyful atmosphere in the home. I couldn't think of a better place for my father to reside in his latter years. They settled Dad within the home with the minimum of fuss and went the extra mile to make sure Dad had all his familiar comforts so that Tolson quickly felt like his own home. The staff are always smiling and helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them. What an awesome team!

Mum recently celebrated her 100th birthday. Staff at the home were excited about this, and went above and beyond to help Mum prepare for the occasion. On the day, a concert was arranged for her, together with balloons, cake and candles, and a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday.

Since moving there, Mum has developed good relationships with care staff, and their friendly manner and helpfulness have been much appreciated.

Dad has only been in the home a few weeks and the staff are amazing. Such a warm welcoming environment who don't only look after Dad but are so accommodating and welcoming to us as his family. The managers are informative and constantly keep me updated about Dad which is greatly appreciated. I cannot speak highly enough of the home and the staff. We are so happy and relieved we have made the right choice for Dad.

Tolson Grange has cared for my mother for over 10 years, during which her ability to do things and be involved has gradually deteriorated and she has for several years now needed 24/7 care. The staff at Tolson Grange should be commended for their care and interest in those who live there. Is everything perfect, of course not, that is not possible, but every effort is made to to make constant improvements and listen to those who live there and their relatives. The priority must be care, cleanliness and an environment which stimulates to offer as much happiness as possible and this has been achieved.

Mum has been in the care of Tolson Grange for just over 12 months. The transition hasn't been an easy one for us. Having to make the decision that we couldn't give her the care she needed was very hard. The staff at the Grange have been fantastic. Any concerns we have had have been answered pretty quickly, and most problems solved. The entertainment has the residents smiling and joining in. There is laughter, tea, and of course cakes! Always a hand being held, hugs and reassurance (and that's also for us). We wouldn't have her anywhere else. Thank you to all the staff at Tolson Grange.

I continue to feel satisfied and confident in the care that Tolson Grange provides for my Mum. I visit twice weekly and always find the staff to be caring and patient regardless of the situation. They go the extra mile to ensure residents are happy and safe. The accommodation is clean and well-kept, with shared areas often decorated to reflect current events. There are lots of food options and regular entertainment of various kinds. I feel very fortunate to have found somewhere where my Mum feels safe and contented.

When I first visited and enquired at Tolson Grange, I knew within the first minute it was right for Mum. Safe to say she didn't want to go and a stressful time for us all. But on the first day the staff were waiting at 2 pm and welcoming, with various lunch options waiting for her including roast pork dinner! This gave us time to move her furniture from home. By the time we had finished moving her in at 5.30 pm she had the biggest smile on her face, declaring 5-star food, 5-star staff, and her room/apartment wonderful. Since then I have only experienced the care and dedication and helpfulness of all the staff, and the regular activities and friendships Mum has made in 6 months. Thank you.

My mum has been in Tolson Grange since the beginning of June this year (2024). The care home is well run and the staff are mostly helpful and caring. I'm also told by my mum that the food and entertainment/activities are very good. I'm very pleased with the care my mum is receiving and so thankful that I found this place. It's a difficult decision to put one of your parents in a care home when the time comes and the team at Tolson Grange have made that a whole lot easier. Thank you so much for all your hard work.
