My wife has been well cared for since she arrived in March, the staff have been kind and caring. Our main concern was whether she would settle in the home, fortunately, she appears content and happy. We think this is due to the friendly staff.

My Mum is very well cared for at Tolson Grange. It is a safe place for her. The staff are kind and always treat her with dignity. They are also welcoming to visitors. Mum always looks well dressed and healthy when I see her, and she regularly has her hair and nails done at the home. Her little suite of rooms is lovely, giving her the option of privacy and a quiet space if she wants to have a rest. I am so pleased there are so many interesting activities available at the home, and I was delighted that my mum is joining in and making friends. We love looking at the photos of her on Facebook! Thank you to everyone at Tolson Grange for making a huge difference to the quality of my mum's life.

I cannot thank all the staff enough at Tolson Grange for the love and care they gave mum. This includes care staff, cleaners, laundry, chef, maintenance, administration and managers. As a team, they work together fantastically. I think their interview process must be unless you are a happy caring person who treats residents and family members with kindness and respect, don’t apply! Mum was so happy in her new home. Both me and my brother were so worried about her settling in but all the staff made this process so easy. Mum really enjoyed her time at Tolson Grange. Mum's move there made it so me and my brother could return to enjoying visits with Mum rather than the anxiety of sorting care arrangements. We cannot recommend Tolson Grange and the staff highly enough. A huge thank you from us to you.

The staff are very pleasant, the room is like a little home from home. Very pleased to see how well Mum looked when I came to visit and how alert she was. A big thank you to everyone. The staff have answered all our questions, without hesitation.

My father was admitted to Tolson Grange for rehabilitation after a hospital stay. He is thriving and after being able to arrange a "window" visit, I felt very reassured. He suffers from dementia but was coherent and happy. Talking with the staff it is obvious they like him and he is in a very good place. As a family, we can only thank the staff and management at Tolson Grange for the care they are providing.

My husband arrived at Tolson on March 18th and lockdown was on March 23rd, so far 13-weeks I didn't physically see him. Whilst I was devastated at this 'unprecedented' situation, I never once thought that he was not being sympathetically cared for and felt that he was as content and happily settled as he could be in his new 'home'. The staff also went out of their way to make this most difficult and traumatic time for myself and family as stressfree as possible. At the same time, they worked extremely hard in the most challenging of circumstances to ensure residents and staff remained safe and virus free. As time has gone on and we have come out of lockdown, the management and staff have done everything possible to enable us to visit loved ones, and obviously not in the normal, loving way, it was the best they could do given the current circumstances. I know many sacrifices have been made to keep everyone safe. I deeply regret that my husband's dementia means that he now has to live-in care, but I don't regret that he lives at Tilson.

My father is 81-years-old and living independently. After a fall he broke both arms in February 2020. After two weeks in the hospital, he was transferred to Tolson Grange for five weeks care under the NHS while he was unable to use both arms which were in plaster casts. The care he received was respectful, and I know this purely from my dad's demeanour. He did not need to say a thing. He was happy, relaxed and put on some much-needed weight. His dignity was maintained, the carers clearly understood my father is a proud and private man. I picked Dad up just in time to isolate with me in my house, and while looking forward to getting back to independent living, he was very complimentary about every aspect of his stay.
Thank you so much for looking after him and helping in his recovery. After another five weeks, doing physiotherapy, he is able to do most things and is getting back to normal.

He says: "Thank you so much, you are all marvellous people for the job you do."

The new manager is very good. Most of the staff are excellent. The home has improved in the last 12 months. The home could do with new carpets. The new chairs are a good improvement. It still needs to improve communication regarding clients. The home is expensive compared with several others in the area.

Tolson Grange could do with some interior decoration, however, the care home is run with understanding, care and compassion. It's staff more than make up for it's tired appearance.

My mother has lived at Tolson grange for the last 4 years. During this time she has been very cared for. Her dementia and mobility worsened of the years but all the carers have adapted well to her different needs, smiling and keeping mum happy.
In the last few weeks, her health has deteriorated and all the carers have been superb. One carer was one of the few cares and relatives that could get mum to eat when she was too ill or didn't want to. Now time, as gone on one of the carers, has gone beyond the call of duty by keeping in touch with me whilst I was abroad. She hs sent me daily what's app messages with photos and videos. All done just to reassure me that mum was ok and that I didn't need to come home. Decisions on health matters and anything to make mum more comfortable, she organised and made sure that it was carried out even on her day off.

None of us knows where we are going with mum, but I know she is in the best place with the finest, most caring people looking after her. Thank you.

I am happy with the care home in general. The only issue I have is the fact that doors are left unlocked, allowing wandering residents to go in anybody's room and take those persons possessions. My sister's teeth and glasses have gone missing on a few occasions, causing the carers more work than necessary in trying to find them.

My mother has been in a care home previously so that was my benchmark of care in the community. It wasn't a good experience. The difference in care in Tolsen Grange is the opposite; from day one we have been impressed with the commitment of the home to tailor individual care and make a difference to the lives of the residents. We are daily visitors to the home and are impressed by the sense of community spirit which is visible between staff and residents alike as well as with relatives.

Such is the nature of my mother's illness, she does have bad days, but more often than not she now has a smile on her face and has a laugh with the staff who take the time to make her feel welcome and special.

There are residents and relatives meetings with the team, but it is also easy to raise and resolve any concerns/issues with management on a day to day basis helped by easy access and the opportunity to discuss these matters direct. A 'can do' attitude definitely prevails in the home.

I am very pleased with the care my Mum receives at Tolson Grange. The staff alway seem to have time to treat residents with respect. Residents are free to move about the home as they wish. If they speak to a carer the carer always answers them (not the case where Mum was before).
