St Edith's Court

My uncle passed away in June this year my aunt has dementia, from the sudden death of my uncle i had to find a care home for my aunt i placed her in the new home in leigh-on-sea. Like a 5 star hotel. In the few months i realised i had to move her to a home that really cared for dementia. A few people i had spoken to with and along with my aunts long term friend. St Edith's was mentioned a few times . After contacting St Edith's things moved quickly. From arranging the assessment to room refurbished then my aunts arrival i cannot thank the staff enough, nothing was to much trouble. Walking into St Edith's has such a homely feel to it , and the care my aunt is now receiving i can now rest with eases knowing she will now be looked after with loving care she needs. I cannot thank Helen and her staff enough.

Firstly I felt very blessed that my husband was able to get a place in St Edith's as it was my first choice by its good reputation. We had visited St Edith's a few years prior and he had said if he needed to go into care this is where he would want to go. He then suffered from vascular dementia and was very frail. I visited daily and got to know the staff. They were always very caring and efficient and supported me as he gradually deteriorated. They were also very respectful and understanding with his lack of function and mobility due to the dementia. Most of all their end of life care was superb. They were patient, kind, dignified, respectful and even fed us while we were spending long hours by his bedside. I would absolutely recommend St Edith's and would be my first choice if I needed care.

When she finally passed, staff came in to say goodbye in floods of tears. It showed to us the love they had for her.

My uncle came to St. Edith's initially on respite but then becoming a permanent resident. He seems to have thrived since his arrival and we are extremely pleased with the care and support he is getting. The staff at the home have all been excellent, always very friendly, approachable and helpful.

I was not overly familiar with a care home environment, and had only limited knowledge of what to expect. All I can say is that I would recommend St Edith's Court without hesitation.

When I visited my friend at St Edith's she was enjoying a quiz with staff and other residents. Everyone was participating, they were having fun. They had refreshments and some nibbles. My friends room is always clean and tidy. My friend said that the staff are very good, nothing is to much trouble. She is very happy living in this home.

The care home and gardens are clean and well maintained

My mum came in February on respite and stayed she is now permanent. Staff here are amazing and have gone above and beyond to settle her. Lots of wonderful activities and events cannot fault anything always something going on if she wants to if not her room is comfy to stay in and watch tv with a coffee . I can visit whenever and lovely to spend time with her in the beautiful gardens .

I cannot praise St Edith court enough - my mum stayed with them for respite for 3 months whilst repairs were being done at her house following a leak. She was treated with respect, dignity and cared for 24/7. The home is welcoming and spotlessly clean, it really is a home from home. All the staff were friendly and professional and went over and above to meet my mums needs, even picking her recliner chair up from her house and returning when she went home. Thank you for all you did for my mum.

The home has had some recent management issues but this has now been resolved. I am confident that my mother is safe and well looked after.

My mum has really thrived since having in and has made a real recovery as she came here from hospital. It is great to see her happy and laughing again. The care here is excellent, very caring and friendly with lots of activities. Excellent!

St Edith is not only a care home, it is a safe haven. There is support, compassion, professionalism, respectfulness, understanding and sensitivity towards the residents, as well as the focus on residents overall well being. There are activities for the resident throughout the week, the garden is beautiful and a pleasure to walk around. I have visited many homes in the past and St Edith by far, comes out the best. So, thank you all at St Edith for everything you do for my aunt.

From the moment I entered St Edith's Court, I have been impressed. The friendliness and attentiveness of the staff is wonderful and the environment is clean, bright and welcoming. The facilities are excellent and the residents rooms are spacious and airy. The bathroom and kitchen allow my mother a degree of independence she did not have at home and are good sizes. I am very grateful that my mother has a place at St Edith's Court. It's our first experience of a care home and we couldn't be happier with the lovely staff and care she receives.

My mother has been at st Edith's for nearly two years, she arrived with mobility problems but very alert. She has deteriorated and now has palliative care. Throughout her stay the staff have been amazing, so dedicated and caring especially now that she is a more difficult resident. My wife and I have recommended St Edith's to numerous friends and acquaintances.

Unfortunately due to Anchors policies I cannot detail just how badly my mother was let down during her stay here .I can only say that due to many safeguarding issues I would not recommend this home to any person looking for a safe ,well managed care home for their loved one.I do wonder how long my review will be left up by Anchor who ,welcome feedback !!!!!!

I would not recommend this home to anyone and feel sorry for the residents that remain there if they are being treated in the same way as my mum

Still waiting a month later.

I have found St Edith's to have a warm, friendly happy and welcoming atmosphere. Staff are kind, caring considerate and patient. Management are willing to act, assist and most important, listen. As Mum is still settling in. She hasn't attended activities yet but we hope she will soon, so I cannot comment on those. I hear laughter and see happy faces in here and it does feel like Mum's home - warm and cosy.
