When my Mum reached the age of 101, it became clear to the family that the time had come where she could no longer look after herself and she didn't want to be left alone. We started to look into care homes in the area and visited a number, some of which we found to be very questionable. Our cousin
recommended that we give St Edith's Court a visit as she knew a resident there and said how she was very happy there. We made an appointment and met the manager, she showed us around and we immediately felt that this was ideal for our Mum to spend the rest of her life. At the time there was no room vacant apart from the respite room so we moved Mum in while they were decorating and carpeting her own room. Mum has now settled in after 5 months and we, as a family, know that she is safe and extremely well looked after and cared for by the excellent staff. We would highly recommend that if you are currently in the same situation you contact St Edith's in Leigh on Sea.

My sister moved into St Edith's Court just over a year ago, understandably a little apprehensive but didn't take her long to settle in, everybody was kind and considerate nothing was too much trouble. I feel sure my sister wouldn't want to live anywhere else as she likes to join in with everything going
on within the home. Not long after she moved in, my mum joined St Edith's Court who was adamant she wasn't going into a home but, unfortunately, she could no longer care for herself. She soon settled and loved it even saying to me she wished she had done it sooner. Mum didn't have long at St Edith's Court, unfortunately, she passed away at the age of 90, but I couldn't fault the care she received, equally the same for my sister, she loves it

Our Mum passed away in April 2018. Despite being extremely busy, the staff cared for her extraordinarily well, meeting even her intimate needs with a smile and a light heart.


They appreciated who she was as a person; a lady who loved a laugh and they treated her accordingly, having a giggle with

her whilst still being respectful and preserving her dignity, which demonstrated not only their empathy but also their skill at recognising her needs at that time.


We understand that caring isn't the most glamorous or well-paid job, we did our research and saw first hand what bad care and slovenly staff looked like in other care homes.


However, the carers at St Edith's never acted like that, we could tell they wanted to be there and it was clear they loved doing what they were doing.


We would recommend St Ediths to anyone, whether suffering from dementia, or, as was in my Mum's case, just physically not able stay in their own home any longer.

We find the staff very friendly and caring. Always prepared to help and give the best support.
Food is very good and all residents seem very comfortable. The resident's rooms are very clean and the home is always in great condition.
We thoroughly recommend St Edith's for any elderly people needing
care and the ultimate in home comforts. Plenty of activities and entertainment.
Always updating the resident care plans.
