Limegrove in East Horsley is operated by the Anchor Hanover Group. It is a purpose-built home, supporting up to 55 older people to live a comfortable lifestyle, as well as specialising in dementia care. It is located close to the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The home continues to welcome new residents for a range of residential care services, including convalescence care, respite care, trial stays and long term care.

The care team gets to know customers and works with them to organise stimulating activities which match individual and group interests, both in the care home as well as in the local community. Each customer’s individual needs are regularly assessed to ensure their care plans meet their lifestyle requirements. Meals are cooked fresh, using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients where possible.

We have been so blessed that our dad could live here. I have seen many care homes through my work and I've been blown away by the standard of care. They looked after him so well physically and also emotionally and as he approached his last days gave him better care than a hospice, constantly and thoughtfully
checking that he was alright and that we had everything that we wanted while we sat with him, whilst still providing the planned entertainment for the other residents. Despite his dementia being advanced, over the last few months they found things that would work for him and recognised him as an individual with a history and a wealth of experiences. Carers even came to pay their respects and say goodbye after he'd died. There is such a feeling of family and of the importance of everybody being valued and supported. It is a one in a million home

Since a dear friend became a patient at Limegrove, I have always been amazed by the kindness and care she and all others inmates receive from all the staff. There are so many activities and drinks offered and friends are always included if appropriate. We also receive a great welcome from all staff,
particularly at reception and there my friend 'house'. If one had to go into care, they is certainly the best home I have experienced.

We just wanted to say thank you so much for making Pat's respite stay at Limegrove all that she needed, she has come out full of confidence and with her zest for life back - we know that it is a team effort and the team that you are all part of is truly special. Knowing Limegrove as we do, we didn't
hesitate to think of you when she decided that she needed a break from looking after herself at home.
Everyone took the time to get to know Pat and to support her to keep her independence as much as possible, that has meant a lot to her and I know she won't hesitate to recommend you to anyone. She is always concerned about whether she would be able to have gluten free food options and she was chuffed to know that the chef was personally arranging her meal choices! The experience has been such a good one that we know if the time comes for Pat to move out of her home, that Limegrove will be hers and our first choice.

I am very pleased with the care my mother receives at Limegrove. The staff are kind and attentive and my mother tells us this regularly. I live in Scotland and phone my mother every week and staff take the phone to her. Family are always welcomed and make us an extension to the Limegrove family. We
as a family are happy that mum is well cared for and is happy at Limegrove. She has settled in well and we no longer have to worry.

The staff at Limegrove were very helpful when we told them that our mum wasn't happy in her unit as she was having problems with another resident. We gave it some time, but the situation didn't improve. After a review meeting, it was decided that mum should move to another unit. This was dealt with
very quickly and efficiently, and I'm pleased to say that mum is much happier now. My siblings and I are very happy that our mum is a resident at Limegrove. The staff are very caring and answer questions to our satisfaction.

On my last review I mentioned I was concerned mum was getting a balanced diet, being vegetarian it is sometimes difficult to get a balanced diet, but since that review a huge effort has been made, providing mum with a healthy diet that she will eat, she is now having more variety of healthy balanced
meals. Thank you for your quick response. All the staff are amazing at Limegrove, but mum has asked me to mention 3 carers that have gone beyond the normal care, and make mum's days happier in so many ways I know it says no names but hopeful you'll forgive mentioning some members of staff.

I came to Limegrove as a resident to settle my husband in who will be staying there permanently as he has dementia and Alzheimer's. I stayed 6 weeks and cannot praise the home more highly, particularly for their compassion and kindness and efficiency.

My father came to Limegrove early this year. Although he had struggled to settle in first of all. The staff have been fanastic to help this process run as smoothly as possible. Everybody seems so friendly and helpfull and are all very professional in what they do. There are plenty of activities each
day, which I believe he is joining in with and also the staff are incouraging that. Limegrove itself, is absolutley spotless for cleanliness and the Chef in the kitchen seems to go that extra mile with his meal plan etc.
As a family, we know our father is being well cared for and that gives us all peace of mind.
If ever there is a problem, we are notified very quickly .

My father has settled in well over the last 4 months and the standard of care has been excellent. I feel there is a good level of staff, who are attentive, kind and positive. My father has had a couple of medical incidents since he arrived, which are to be expected from someone of his age, and I have
been very reassured by the adherence of all the staff to what appear to me (as a non-expert but very interested party!) to be clear, comprehensive and effective protocols/ procedures. Furthermore, the level of communication from the staff has been very positive and reassuring for me. I am happy to recommend Limegrove without reservation.

For someone with dementia, moving to a care home is a double whammy; it's a feeling of loss of freedom at precisely the time they find it difficult to cope with change. Not all care homes fully appreciate this and the key is making the resident the focus.
When we looked at Limegrove for my mother,
we had a lot of questions. In answering one of them, one of the staff gave a very welcome insight for us. She said, "We don't have people living in our workplace; we are working in their home". Since my mother moved in at the end of September, this statement has been overwhelmingly proven. I am very happy to say that my mother could not be happier with the staff and it is plain to see Limegrove is constantly trying to meet every aspect of my mother's needs they can; health, safety, socialising, entertainment, fulfilment, creativity and so many other aspects.
The home is well maintained, the staff are excellent and my mother is happy and well supported; what else is matters?

Thank you to all the staff who worked so hard to create a lovely family lunch for my mum, myself and my cousins who had travelled to see Mum. Mum really enjoyed it, lunch was very nice and great care was taken to give my Mum a 'dining out' experience. Thank you.

On the whole, Limegrove is a comfortable home, and residents are looked after well. I find the rooms to be on the small side compared to other homes but comfortable, just not enough room for them to have a visitor or a few more personal belongings. It would be nice to have a lounge with a little light
background music, instead of the TV on and most people falling asleep, as I find it difficult to talk unless one moves into the dining room. The staff do their best for which I'm very grateful.

My dear friend was a resident for nearly 2.5 years (she was the 2nd of my friends to reside in an Anchor home). The Limegrove staff were always caring and very approachable. Visitors are always made so welcome both by the receptionist and the carers. The end-of-life care was excellent and the resident,

I have visited my mother recently and spend prolonged visits to the home. The level of care is exceptional and the quality of activities for residents is excellent. I didn't try the food but I understand it is also good.

I am so happy that my sister is in Limegrove and very safe. It is so welcoming, the staff are caring and so kind. It's so clean, the rooms and bedding, it's so nice to see. What I have seen of the food being served is just lovely. Myself and the family are very happy thank you.

Limegrove is truly a home full of care. My mother-in-law has been a resident for over four years and has received wonderful care. All the basic needs of cleanliness, nutrition and professional medical care are of a very high standard, but the staff give so much more than that. They have taken so much
time and effort to ensure that my mother-in-law can get the most out of her life, and constantly review that as her needs change.
A few weeks ago it was her 100th birthday and the staff were all very excited. On the day, they arranged a hair appointment in the morning, then decorated the whole unit with banners and balloons. A beautiful bouquet of flowers from Anchor Homes was in her room. A small party of relatives came to a party in the afternoon where there was a lovely buffet tea and birthday cake. Definitely above and beyond what they are required to do.

On arriving at Limegrove with my stepmother who suffered from advanced Alzheimers, I was very impressed with the levels of patience and understanding shown to the resident and the time and tolerance for me as all aspects of Limegrove were explained. Standards of care are high, food is very good and
the atmosphere is great. My father has now moved in although he was initially only at Limegrove for respite but he too has found a home from home. This outcome has taken all the stress away from me - thank you!

From the first visit to look around to present date, the service, friendliness and helpfulness of the staff has been excellent. My mum has settled in well and every need is attended to very quickly and efficiently. The trips are arranged for the residents, and the feedback is excellent. Christmas and
all the activities arranged have been really enjoyed. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending Linegrove.

Excellent accommodation and facilities in a lovely rural location. Staff are very conscientious, caring and can't be faulted. My mother is now 102 years old and extremely happy living there. From what I have seen the food is excellent and the home is very clean and tidy and very efficiently managed.
I would recommend it to anyone looking for peace of mind in the placement of their relative!
