After visiting various other care homes, I just knew Cranlea was the perfect home for my mam. It took a few months for her to settle in to her new home but soon she made friends with other residents and all the staff who made her stay enjoyable. There was plenty of activities to do in the lounge where she spent most of her time like bingo, painting, making cakes and aerobics, she loved the singers and school choirs and visits from miniture ponies. Her room/flat was always kept clean by the great staff. Myself and family would like to say a massive thank you to all the staff who made mam's stay enjoyable.

I would just like to leave a review to show our appreciation to the lovely staff at Cranlea! We can't thank them enough for the time & effort that goes into this beautiful home. Our family are grateful for all their hard work & dedication. The staff are so helpful and make the place feel like home. My grandma is so happy here and that makes us happy as a family. There is also plenty going on which involves the whole family & the food choices are amazing & catered for all dietary needs! 10/10 from us!!

The staff and management at Cranlea are exceptional. They are very professional and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. They go out of their way to help.
My mother is always treated with respect and dignity and I am grateful for everything they do to help my mother.

The care home itself is in a great location with plenty of shops etc., nearby, and it is always easy for parking when visiting. Plenty of activities are provided.

Our experience since our mother went into Cranlea has been brilliant. The transition from her living at home trying to be independent was not good at all. Once decision was taken she needed 24hr care without a doubt Cranlea was our first port of call. My mother had care here 3yr couldn't fault the staff. We knew that yes different people could be there but their ethic of care was first class and still is. Once our mother got in and she found her bearings yes she asked when she was going home, we reassured her along with the staff, she was safe & cared for. Every need was met, nothing was a troule they went above and beyond. We are kept informed regular if we are happy, we are.

My Mam moved to Cranlea from another care home approx May 2025. The staff are superb & have been the main reason why she has settled so well (kind, thoughtful & attentive). Her family have been warmly welcomed also & really appreciate how smooth the transition to Cranlea has been. Settled atmosphere, friendly & approachable staff, good food, accommodation, entertainment etc. Well done to all at Cranlea.

Both parents were in Cranlea, but when dad's needs got too much, they requested he be moved to one with nursing care, an ask I know was hard for them. Since his move, I am always asked, when visiting Mum, how he is with genuine concern shown when I told them I was worried about the care he was receiving. One of the TL's took time to listen to my concerns and agreed they were valid, seeking help from another team member that she knew had the CQC contact details. I was encouraged by both to contact CQC, which I did, and they acted. The entire team at Cranlea are brilliant, always going over and above, giving me huge peace of mind that mum is well cared for.

We are always greeted by staff who are able to inform us of Mum's health and how she has been emotionally. All staff speak to her when passing. They show a good knowledge of mum, not only her condition, but her personality, likes and dislikes. Staff monitor her food and drink intake, and they act immediately with supplements. We are so pleased Mum was able to be offered a place at Cranlea.

Before coming to Cranlea Mam was previously at another care home. It was our first experience with the care system but it soon became apparent that the care she was receiving was in no way good enough and we moved her. Now at Cranlea the improvement has been 100%. We have all been welcomed as a family and feel involved with the day to day goings on. The staff are caring & friendly and, very quickly knew our names. Food has improved vastly - everything great!

Found this to be an excellent care home. The home was always clean, so were all the residents and there was never a smell. The staff were exceptional, they were so friendly and always seemed happy in what must be a hard job. They always talk to the residents and visitors and always said if anything they can help with to let them know. My aunt was never happy and said the food was very good. The entertainment and activities were great. I would have no hesitation in recommending Cranlea to others.

Lovely place.
Friendly approachable staff.

My aunt has lived at Cranlea for around 3 years and we are so happy with how she is cared for. She especially enjoyed a visit from a New Castle Football Player in the 90's, lots going on within the care home for people to join in with.

I am not usually one for writing reviews but I think Cranlea deserves a one. Watching my mother in law this week enjoying an activity where many of the staff were involved was so good. She told us how happy she feels at Cranlea and that is what matters to us. Cranlea has managed to make my wife feel more relaxed than she has for years. Knowing her mam is cared for so well and hearing her mam tell us how she feels is so reassuring to her. The staff seem to know her very well and are always nice. They also make us feel welcome when we visit. A very nice care home which deserves a positive mention.
