My experience with Brackenfield is exceptional. The staff are brilliant even though my mum is quite difficult they've won her round I visit most days and I have to say I've never felt as though the care home is anything less than amazing

My impression of this home is that it is a happy, positive, caring environment.

You get that feeling as soon as you go in, and my interactions with staff and residents back that up. That is a credit to the whole team in Brackenfield, who work hard to create that atmosphere. The residents, including my Dad, all seem to appreciate this. The building is bright and clean, and is a comfortable place to be with good facilities. All in all moving to Brackenfield was a really good choice for my Dad, giving him the extra support that he needed in a caring positive environment.

After several falls at home, I came in for restbite and decided was happy at Brackenfield and decided to become a permanent resident. The home is close to my family & friends, is very clean, comfortable and offered on site facilities and is clean, bright and comfortable this made my transition easy. I have a beautiful room that overlooks the lovely garden. I have been able to bring some of my own furniture and pictures to make it more like my own home. The meals/food are more that addiquate, plenty of choice and is hot. The laundry facilities are very good and I am able to use the salon to have my hair done, still se my own doctor as he visits weekly. The acctivities when run are good & engaging.

This was the first time my Mum had been looked after by someone else and the first time we had used restbite, so it was really important to us that she was well looked after and we had a good experience. Brackenfield did not let us down and we are as happy as we could be with the care and service provided.
The home was clean, bright and welcoming and the staff were excellent. Everyone we met including the carers and team leaders and managers were so friendly, informative, supportive and helpful, and most importantly they were all equally great, patient, polite and caring to my mum.

I would highly recommend Brackenfield Hall and they made our first experience of a carehome a perfect one.

I am so pleased that Mum is in such a lovely home. She has been here over 2 years now, after initially having 2 respite stays. I cannot recommend it highly enough. On arrival it always smells lovely, it's so welcoming & every member of staff always greets you with a smile & a chat. I know I can go to anyone if I have any issues & they are always resolved quickly. The carers are so kind & thoughtful & work very hard. The food is great & Mum loves the puddings. Choosing Brackenfield Hall was the best decision for Mum & as a family we're so happy that she is happy & settled here.

As a family we are please my Nan is in such a comfortable and homely place. My Nan used to visit for some respite days before becoming a resident and has now been in over 2 years.
All the staff are so welcoming and friendly when I have been to visit with it always looking so clean and tidy.

They are always doing some form of activity too keeping residents busy and if there are ever any issues you can easily go to any staff member for help. My Nan is happier in Brackenfield as she has made friends with the other residents and staff, it was the best thing we could have done for her.

Overall Experience
My family and I are deeply grateful for the wonderful care my grandparent received at Brackenfield. From the very beginning, the staff treated him with kindness, dignity, and respect. They not only provided excellent medical and personal care, but also made every effort to ensure he felt comfortable, valued, and at home.
What stood out most to us was the compassion shown by the entire team. They took the time to get to know him as a person, not just as a resident. Whether it was sharing a laugh, patiently listening to his stories, or simply sitting with him when he needed company, their presence made such a difference in his final months.
The facilities were always clean, safe, and welcoming, and the atmosphere felt warm and supportive. Communication with our family was clear and thoughtful-we always felt informed and reassured that he was in good hands.

Our family would recommend Brackenfield to anyone!

Overall Experience

I've read lots of the reviews of Brackenfield Hall and I don't recognise them as being about the care home that my mum lived in for 9 months. The ground floor area always seemed nice and had a good atmosphere but totally different to the EMI unit on the 1st floor which is where my mum was. There never seemed to be enough staff to cope with the number of dementia residents. My mums room was frequently dirty and on a few occasions I found poo and incontinence pads on the floor in her room. Often the door to her room was locked but no one could tell me why that was. All of her clothes and bedding were meticulously labelled but no one seemed to take any notice of that. From day 1 none of the bedding sets I'd bought were used, they all just vanished. Fundraisers for the unit never seemed to result in any improvements and activities seemed to rarely happen.Visiting at mealtimes is strictly forbidden whereas at other care homes it is encouraged. My mum was simply neglected here.
