Our Aunt Wendy enjoyed a new lease of life when she came to live at Millfield a couple of years ago, she chose Millfield herself after researching and visiting care homes in the area. She was always busy with activities. The professional care and compassion Wendy and we her family received at the end of her life were wonderful. Thank you to a great team for enriching her life, respecting her individuality. Millfield really is a home from home establishment.

I am keen to write a review as my Auntie who lived at Millfield Care Home died this morning. I don't live locally and in spite of that the care team have gone out of their way to help me stay in touch. I wrote regular emails with photographs to punctuate phone calls. The manager printed off my letters , and personally delivered, read them to my Auntie and provided her with a folder to store the letters and photos, which she had taken the trouble to print at large scale so they could be looked over and shared. In conjunction with this I received a regular newsletter, often with my Auntie featured , enjoying some of the many activities provided.i can say that she was an intelligent woman who found happiness, compassion and company in her later life at Millfield.. thank you.

My aunt has been a resident of Millfield for over 2 years now and I have great peace of mind that she is being well looked after. I live a 6 hour drive from Millfield so I am really grateful for the communication I have with all members of staff from the team leaders to the care manager Kelly and of course Ann-Marie. If I have any concerns then these are always addressed and I am always kept informed.
I have found all the care staff to be extremely helpful and very professional.
There is always activities taking place and I do know they try to encourage the residents to take part as it's nice to be involved and interact with each other.

In general I find Millfield care home to be really good.

Lovely staff at Millfield- gave my dad a big hug when he came back in for respite care. They look after him well, remember what he likes (and doesn't like). We're lucky to have such a good Care home close to us.

My Father in Law recently moved into Millfield after many months of deliberation. He has readily accepted this as his new home and appreciates the care and the social interaction which is available with both the other residents and dedicated staff. His own room meets all his requirements in a safe environment and kept spotlessly clean, supported by the excellent catering on site which provides piece of mind to the rest of his family who are able to visit at every opportunity.

My Mum -in-law has lived at Millfield for about two years now. She always tells me how happy she is there and how well she is looked after by a dedicated team in all areas.
The home is kept beautifully fresh and clean throughout, as is her own room. The catering team provide great food in the dining rooms and also in residents' rooms if required.

She enjoys the daily programme of activities, entertainment, trips out, seasonal celebrations and birthday parties which are a key part of living at Millfield and everyone is so caring and friendly.

Mum is well cared for and happy at Millfield. She is treated with respect by helpful and caring staff, and has the opportunity to join in with any activities organised by the staff. The staff are aware of her memory and mobility problems and are happy to go the extra mile to keep her safe and well.

My mum originally went to Millfield for respite care but is now a permanent resident. Her room is lovely and light, and new furniture was put in for her. The carers can't do enough to help. They are always friendly and approachable, encouraging my mum to socialise and stay active. The managers have been extremely supportive to me throughout the whole process of moving my mum to a home. My mum never wanted to go into a care home but Millfield has been fantastic for her. After two years of social isolation (apart from family) in her own home, she is much happier in this caring environment.
It was her birthday last week and the catering staff put in a special meal for us, her assigned carer came in on her day off and gave her presents and cards.
Any issues we have had, have been discussed and resolved straight away. They have taken a huge weight off my shoulders.

Thanks to all the wonderful staff, my mum feels cared for.

Staff always make us feel welcome when we visit and are available for us to ask any questions about mums care. Mum has been a resident at Millfield now for almost 2 years. In that time we have been given peace of mind that she is being well cared for with dignity and respect. The staff are friendly, helpful and caring and mum now has a far more enriched life by having regular interaction with differing people through the meal times, the wealth of activities and entertainment which is provided and by being pampered at the hairdresser. She recently celebrated her 92nd birthday and the staff made space for us to celebrate as a family and then presented mum with a lovely cake and presents. The home have made regular adaptations to meet mum's changing needs without fuss. As a family we are regular visitors to the home and see mum 3 or 4 times a week so we see other residents as well too joining in activities and being cared for. The key for us is that mum is happy and settled at Millfield and we know she is in safe, kind and caring hands.

My mum has been at Millfield for some time. Living far away, it's reassuring that communication + care are exceptional. Regular updates iPad calls emails + communal magazine keep me closely connected to mum's daily life easing the worry of being far away. Activities are outstanding-music, chats, tai chi, quizzes, visiting guests/speakers -offered with real choice, joy, enthusiasm +connection. Mum enjoys genuine enrichment. Her key worker is warm, patient, + provides loving continuity + care. Even small acts from catering + maintenance staff show how deeply Millfield helps residents feel at home. During illness or outbreaks, communication is immediate + reassuring. When Mum was in hospital, I was informed immediately, supported throughout + mums additional needs implemented with no fuss. Every visit is welcoming, with friendly staff + space to spend time together. Millfield provides dignity, true belonging, offers loving comfort +care- I'm deeply grateful for all they do every day

My Mum recently celebrated her 103rd birthday and the staff pulled out all the stops to make her day enjoyable. The cook came in early to prepare cakes and in the afternoon one of Millfield's regular singers came in to perform for the residents. He sang songs that Mum knew and could join in with, and we all sang Happy Birthday as Mum was presented with an enormous birthday cake and presents. The previous day the Mayor and Chaddy Owl had been invited to Millfield. Knowing of Mum's birthday, the Mayor had brought a huge bouquet for her. Mum felt very special. My husband and I cannot thank the Millfield staff, and that means all the staff, for looking after Mum during the past three years. They treat her as if she is their favourite granny with kindness and genuine affection. We, as a family, count ourselves very fortunate that Mum was offered a place here. Thank you to every single person who works there for your hard work and dedication.

My mum has now been a resident in Millfield for a year. During this time the staff have gone above and beyond with the care given. The Christmas celebrations have been amazing. Millfield held their Christmas party last weekend and family members were invited. There was excellent food and entertainment with bingo and carol singers, and of course Santa. During the previous week the care home had a visiting panto group (Jack and the Beanstalk) which my mum said was brilliant. Thank you Millfield!

I am so pleased that we found Millfield for my Mum. The staff are excellent, friendly and provide the care that Mum needs with dignity and total professionalism, whilst allowing her independence where possible. They have become not only her carers, but her friends, nothing is too much trouble.
It is particularly lovely how each residents Birthdays and special occasions are recognised and celebrated.
The facilities and the cleanliness is excellent with residents rooms being cleaned daily.
Fun activities are also offered daily and community outings are carried out with pub lunches, local walks and shopping trips where appropriate.

I can't thank Millfield enough for the support they give not only to Mum, but to us as a family and for making Mum happy and comfortable. A Massive Thankyou from us all!

Mum has been a resident at millfield since November 2021. The care towards mum and the support towards us has always been outstanding from day one. Unfortunately mum had a 6 week spell in hospital due to her mental health, Alzheimer's and falls in July, it was touch and go as to whether she would be able to go back home as she was so poorly but millfield did everything they could to get her back safely and with a proper support package in place, since she has been back she has started talking again, walking, eating and drinking, ( which she had not done for 6 weeks) this is all down to the hard work, commitment, dedication, continuity of care love, professionalism and kindness from each and every member of staff that work at millfield. I would like to say a huge thank you not just from me but from my mum and all the family. Anchor homes should be extremely proud of all the staff working at millfield.

Mum has now been a resident at Millfield for a year and it is so comforting to continue to see the same first class support and care and cleanliness.
Absolutely excellent, with a will to provide care with dignity and encourage a social community with varied activities and celebration events.
Everyone has a welcoming smile whenever I visit and it is clear that they are up to speed with the needs to support my mother plus providing regular feedback to any questions I have.

Thank you all at Millfield as I really do not know what I would do without your support.

Mum has just finished 2 weeks of respite care at Millfield. Ann was friendly and professional from the start of our engagement, arranging everything. Mum moved in seamlessly and was given a great room with a nice view. She was introduced to other people in the home, so she could socialize with them. There were various activities arranged, including singing. Whenever I spoke to mum she kept talking about how nice the food was. It was a great stay for her and I am sure mum will be going again, if they will let her.
