Anchor’s Widnes Hall, in Ditton, is a purpose-built home supporting up to 68 older people to live a comfortable lifestyle, as well as providing tailored dementia care. Widnes Hall continues to welcome new residents for residential and residential dementia care.

Widnes Hall is proud to be Veteran Friendly Framework accredited. The home strives to deliver a range of residential care services, including convalescence care, respite care, trial stays and long-term care for those who can no longer look after themselves.

The home's care team gets to know customers and works with them to organise stimulating activities which match individual and group interests, both in the care home as well as in the local community.

Each customer’s individual needs are regularly assessed to ensure their care plans meet their lifestyle requirements. Meals are cooked fresh and from locally sourced and seasonal ingredients where possible by highly trained chefs and kitchen staff.

All I can say is from day one Mum has received top class care from all the shifts, I know that the girls have a lot on every day on the Magpie unit at Widnes Hall. They are all so caring and patient with everyone. We only have to ask for anything, and it's not a problem; they do everything. I have always
said it's a vocation and not just a job, and they all go the extra mile.

Staff are patient with my mother, they take their time attending to her needs and make sure that she is happy and comfortable. I am kept up to date with any issues or concerns that the staff may have and how it has been resolved. I am so glad that I chose to leave my mother's care in their hands.

The staff are very friendly. The home is spotlessly clean. Rooms are lovely. All residents are well looked after. The Activity Team are fantastic. The home provides a lot of activities, music, baking, bingo etc and trips out on the mini bus.

Day staff are excellent very helpful and caring, not much contact with the night staff but overall happy with the care given by them. Any problems are always listed by to management and ways to to resolve, discussed and agreed swiftly.

Outstanding care home. Staff are amazing and do so much with my mum. Since moving into Widnes Hall mum has a new lease of life. Its a joy to see her enjoying herself every day and taking part in all the activities and days out. We have such peace of mind knowing how happy and well cared for mum is.
I have also recommended Widnes Hall to my friend who has recently moved her mum in. Only negative is I would like mum to have new flooring in her room. Other than that 5 stars all the way. Thank you to all the staff you are amazing.

When gran moved into WH in Oct 2024, we honestly thought that if we get her to Xmas we would be lucky.
But with the expert care she has received, she is thriving - healthwise, happiness, contentment, friendships have all blossomed and as a family, we could not be more appreciative.

My mum stayed at Widnes Hall for two weeks respite care, whilst I went on holiday in February.


From the moment we entered we were made to feel like we were friends, everyone was so welcoming and any fears of leaving mum were quickly gone. I can't stress how important this was.


The en-suite bedroom

was lovely, as was the lounge and dining area. There were lots of activities throughout the day, bingo and a singer and it was lovely to see the residents enjoying themselves.


Every single member of staff was really lovely and caring and are a credit to the company.


If we ever need respite care for another holiday, Widnes Hall is the only place I would want to leave my mum.

From entering Widnes Hall, we were greeted with a pleasant greeting by all the staff. Mum couldn't settle at first but now she loves it and has certainly settled in. Mum is happier when she is kept active with different games or tasks. The entertainment is good too. I would recommend WH.

My dad has been a resident at Widnes Hall since May 2024. He is 91 and has mobility issues. Dad is so settled and happy there. He feels safe as he felt vulnerable living on his own. He has not looked so well in years as the care and kindness he receives are excellent. The staff are so wonderful and
have helped Dad feel as though Widnes Hall is his home. I have also received so much kindness at what was an emotional move from his bungalow.

My mum has been a resident for 18 months now and she has settled in very well. All staff are amazing and understanding. The food they serve is all homemade and fresh. All staff communicate with us and tell us of any concerns. The doctor comes every week and checks for any needs. The hairdresser on site
is fab and my mum looks forward to having her hair done every week. Always doing activities with the residents my mum enjoys it. I would 100% recommend Widnes Hall and feel secure in the knowledge my mum is being well looked after.

On the whole, I am pleased with the care. I know my uncle is safe and looked after. I do think it is expensive for what you get. He has to pay £20.00 to the Podiatrist and I think this should be included. He has to pay for a haircut which I think should be included. He needed a haircut a couple of months
ago and it was not cut because they said he had no money. He does and all they needed to do was cut it and then ask me.

This is why we have external parties come in, for some of the resident's needs. Such as hairdressing and Chiropody. So, residents still get a salon experience from a professional hairdresser, within the home in our salon. In regards to Chiropody, we have external chiropodists come in to check any concerns, so we have a genuine professional address any of their issues and give them the best care and treatment they need. We do as much personal care as we can, for our residents, but when it comes to receiving a diagnosis and treatment, it's important we have external professionals treat and examine our residents. If you have any other concerns or recommendations, please feel free to contact me. My door is always open.

Find the home is extremely well run. Staff vert friendly and welcoming. It doesn't feel like you're visiting a home it's like going to their hoe. My aunt is very happy here and that is what matters the most.

Would happily recommend this home to anyone for their loved one. Our mum spent over two and a half years on the upstairs dementia unit. She received the very best of care, always with compassion, understanding and dignity. The staff are a friendly dedicated and hard-working team who we came to think
of as our extended family. They are really amazing you couldn't have any better people looking after your loved one.

Overall the staff look after my mum excellently. They know her likes and dislikes and her ways. She is bedridden now but they enjoy the time they spend with her and Mum responds.
Mum's room is in need of decorating and having spoken to management it will be done over the coming weeks. The staff will
be very careful when they move Mum to another room.
